Not like big jim to be negitive
01 Aug 2026 23:54:21
What an excellent second post!
Also, it's not negative, it's called being realistic, but a guess some folk just don't like hearing some truths about our team, eh bud!
02 Aug 2026 00:26:30
And some really need to get a grip, Bigbluejim.
02 Aug 2026 00:30:24
Why is that, Star?
02 Aug 2026 00:38:40
Think a break is in order for me. Only popped on tonight, some of the posts are laughable, man. Read Mciness is not the man after a game in, if you don't find some of it hilarious, fair play, Bigbluejim.
Players some not even played 90 minutes is not good enough is also laughable. It's like reading schoolboys take on the game that only started following it.
02 Aug 2026 00:48:56
I wait and see the squad when the window shuts in another month's time. Couple of quality wingers and everything looks different. Still be at least half dozen players signed.
02 Aug 2026 00:33:25
Some of the opinions are laughable after one game, laughable bigbluejim.
02 Aug 2026 00:50:42
Well, some didn't want McInnes, so of course they will jump on him when he got it so wrong on his first game, but, granted, he doesn't have much to work with.
Thing is, Star, this is a rinse and repeat of seasons gone by and it looks very much like the writing is on the wall, but can you honestly say after watching that last night that you are not concerned?
I get you like to look on the positives, but the club make it way too hard at times.
Folk wanting the board to address the blatantly obvious issues are not being negative, but calling out the rudderless ship.
02 Aug 2026 00:56:49
Only thing that concerned me was getting width in the team yesterday, Bigbluejim, but that will come, so them that didn't want him jump on him after a game, that's where the schoolboy came from.
02 Aug 2026 01:22:42
He's got a lot more to work with than Dundee United. We looked underprepared and not as sharp as we should have been, and tactics in the first half were shocking.
02 Aug 2026 01:31:35
Spot on Rfc, him choosing to start Naderi ahead of Chermiti was baffling, honestly.
Star, yet we decided days before this game to sell the one Rw we had in Antman without having any to bring in. It's actually criminal how under-prepared we were going into that game and that's just pure negligence no matter which way folk want to dress it up.
We need more than wingers too, but hey ho, we only have an important Euro game next week so what does that matter as long as they address it when it's too late.
02 Aug 2026 04:13:23
I thought we battled well, it's alarming we brought in so many central players when it's evident for years we are crying out for width and creativity. I do think it's far too early to be slaughtering the team and manager though, as it's one game in and a tough place for us to go, best of times, far less first game. Let's hope a few more additions in and a few out the door.
Far too early to be rash about season hopes. I do actually believe we will add some quality to the team. I think McKinnes said he's wanting in game changers / creative players, so let's hope we get what we need. Possibly we have been seeking them but they haven't wanted to come.
02 Aug 2026 05:54:47
Dundee have a rebuild just as big as our own, they have no money, and they could have very easily beaten Rangers on Friday. There were failings all over the pitch on Friday, so it's understandable why people are concerned.
We were just as terrible in pre-season. It's carried over into our competitive games. This can't carry on. There needs to be a huge upturn in performance levels or, as usual, our season will be over by Halloween.
02 Aug 2026 06:32:03
Rohl and we could have easily beaten them, maybe means nothing to most, but that was Dundee United's fifth competitive game, our first. Be many clubs drop points at Tannadice, and not in the first competitive game, needs calmed down a touch, imo, more quality will be signed in the next month, let's see where we're at that time.
02 Aug 2026 07:02:11
Beggars belief, this wait till the window ends. What's the point of preseason then if it's not to prepare your team for the season? Yes, the window is still open, but that should be for the final parts of the jigsaw, not for the main parts of the team, and is normally made up of panic buys.
How can u possibly say the only part of the team which concerned u was the width (when that has been glaringly obvious for ages and hasn't been remotely dealt with) when Sterling is having to come on as a makeshift CB? If going into European qualifiers with 1 CB (unless we can manage to rush a visa), 1 LB and 2 RBs isn't shocking planning, I don't know what is.
Of course it's only one game, but we've seen this all before and not one of the signings so far is an upgrade on what we had last year, barring perhaps the GK. All are just squad players, not starters.
02 Aug 2026 07:07:10
Totally with you on this, My star, 👍 Some far too quick to judge, and want everything ripped up again, which ain't the answer, as has been proven. I would have thought. 🤔 Not one of us is saying we never played poor, especially in the first half, but like My star states, that was our first competitive game, and we will get much better than that, and have to, but Derek McInnes knows that. 🤔 Let's get behind our club, manager and players, and see where we are as a squad on the 3rd of September. 🤔 There's been already a good few player changes, and sometimes I think we've changed too much at the one time, which can, of course, have a big impact, if you know your football. 🤔 No more rinse and repeat, because that will get us absolutely nowhere and we'll never have stability.
🤔 McInnes, I feel, will get this right, but our recruitment team, of course, have to back him and I also think they will. 👍 🇬🇧 For some it's incredible, imo, the way over the top reaction to our first competitive league game of the season being a draw. 😲 The players are s***e, the manager has to go and was never the correct appointment etc. 👎 They continually spout negativity and I think they think we should have Klopp or Pep as our manager and sign players of the ilk of Gazza and Laudrup again. 🤔 Wake up, those days are gone. 🤔 Derek McInnes is the correct appointment for us at this moment in time and, imo, will build a successful Rangers team, but not after one competitive league game, which is laughable. 😂
02 Aug 2026 07:15:05
With the World Cup, loads of players late back to squads, some still off until late last week, so teams not in as much as a hurry as us to do business. I believe we'll bring others in, but also ship 2-3 cms out. I don't get the panic either about drawing a game, away to a team that took 7 out of 9 points at Tannadice against us and Celtic last year.
Also, they didn't batter us. They took a chance after a quick turnaround and got a bit of a break with the finish. Without Ferry, they would have been toothless imo.
02 Aug 2026 07:42:38
Coops, there are no guarantees we will get better. As Kasier says, pre season is when to get ready for your 1st game, not being ready for 1st game is criminal. Also, it's proved that you can't keep the wrong manager in place and just blindly back a guy that I know, and others, that he isn't up to the job.
I don't blame McInnes. I am firmly blaming the board and owners now, as they have gone from one feck up to the next while bringing in quantity or quality.
02 Aug 2026 07:46:08
BbJ, it's best to ignore the happy clappers and leave them to it. It will be them that has egg on their face once again. Remember one of them bet us to win the league last season and rammed it down our throats right up till the last 5 games, then no mention of that massive bet again.
02 Aug 2026 08:05:46
The season isn't decided week one against Dundee United. I don't think people can disagree that the lack of preparation across the board is frustrating.
We never learn, and without signing 3 quality first team players who, let's be honest, need to hit the ground running straight away, we'll likely be facing a really tough season again.
In my opinion, we should have signed key players before the season started. Perhaps that's naive and not possible, but that's what was required.
02 Aug 2026 08:22:45
I seem to remember you saying the same throughout the Beale, Clement & Rohl tenures, My Star. How did they work out?
Your self-imposed air or arrogance on here has always been your downfall. Considering how poor your predictions have been over the years, where players & managers will "show us", how successful they'll be (all of them failed), you'd think you'd learn, mate. I could list them, but War & Peace would be quicker to write.
🤣
Look, I actually agree with you, and it is only one game, and a long way to go, but considering how many times we have seen this movie before, it's no wonder. Right now, we are weaker than where we were last season where we only finished 3rd, and that's majorly concerning. If any Rangers supporter is not concerned, then it's either through arrogance or stupidity.
02 Aug 2026 08:46:23
I can understand everyone's frustration from Friday, however, I can't believe some comments regarding the manager etc. 90 mins of competitive football played, 8 new additions, plus possibly 6 more to come in. We are in the market for players in roughly 3-6 million market, which nowadays is the lower end of the market.
You have to realise we ain't getting the best of the bunch, also not all these players are desperate to play in our sub standard league. A bit of patience is needed, I'm afraid, men.
02 Aug 2026 08:50:23
It's hard to get our "top" targets to come to Ibrox in the 1st place, as we're usually always priced out of a move very quickly, and then you add into it that we also can't move players on, as they're on more wages than anyone else would pay them, so we're left with them, and sometimes we have to pay them off just to get them off the books. Most of our signings so far probably weren't no 1 targets, as McInnes has said we've hit the post a few times, so it is frustrating for everyone.
It's not an easy task just to get players in and out, but I do agree we are about 3 or 4 quality starter players short and probably another 2 or 3 squad players short. Let's hope we get that sorted asap or it's going to be another difficult season for us yet again.
02 Aug 2026 09:05:22
Firstly, of course I'm disappointed we didn't manage to get the 3 points. I was as desperate to get off to a winning start as anyone.
We were all desperate to get 3 points on the board early. At the end of the day, we came away undefeated and with a valuable point.
Reality is that we are in the middle of a complete rebuild and we've drawn away from home to Dundee United in the first of 38 matches.
The Manager has been forthright in telling us, even before the disappointment, that we're trying to get difference makers in the final third and looking to address that in the coming days.
Some of the comments on here have been predictable, over the top, and boring.
When I say boring, I mean every time we get a small setback and a result doesn't go our way, dummies get thrown out the pram, and reading the comments is tedious.
Surely it's clear to see that it's far too early to judge this team, which clearly isn't the finished article.
02 Aug 2026 09:14:18
You're s9 right, CO2, what am I, and other thinking?!
Considering we've been the dominant force in Scottish football for over 13 years, and hoovered up just about every trophy, how dare we bore you with our entitled attitude, and throw our dummies out the pram. Who do we think we are? Oh wait!
Do you see where I'm going with this? Jesus wept!
02 Aug 2026 08:58:04
I think you are the poster, DR25, who used the vomit inducing term "projet" in your first post, and how we have to have "faith" in it. Well, because of that, I'm afraid, I can't buy into anything you say. Terms like that are littered throughout the vocabulary of purveyors of 'blue sky thinking' BS merchants like Martin, Rosenoir et al.
02 Aug 2026 09:54:01
Sunshine,
Spain drew their first match at the World Cup and still became world champions.
Extreme example I know.
Do you see where I'm coming from with that though.
02 Aug 2026 08:05:10
Happy clappers spouting mince, doom mongers just as bad, we all knew we were short, deal with it, 4500 seconds into the new season and it's Armageddon already, aye there's issues aplenty, but support the team fgs, howling at the moon doesn't help anyone other than opposite sides who think they know better and revel in attempting one-upmanship.
02 Aug 2026 10:19:45
Sunshine, aye, let's just keep on sacking managers and going trophiesless, because they that keep on pushing are the reason we go trophiesless, too blind to see their own actions.
02 Aug 2026 10:26:39
Who mentioned "sacking" McInness? 🤣
02 Aug 2026 10:56:47
Sunshine, If you don't see where this is heading, fair play, am saying we continue with the same course of action we've had over the last 5 years is the reason why we don't win trophies.
02 Aug 2026 11:36:18
We don't win trophies, My Star, because our players have never been good enough, as well as those managing them. It's not rocket science!
The only manager from the last few who I believe could have done something with better players was Clement. However, the day he got pumped out of the cup by Queens Park was the day his Rangers career was effectively over.
02 Aug 2026 12:43:35
Steven Gerrard took over at a very low ebb and got us competing in the Europa League, eventually winning the league and stopping Celtic winning 10 in a row.
Gio took over and took us to a Europa League final only to be defeated on penalties, brought the team back from the disappointment and won the Scottish Cup only to be sacked after a poor start into the new season with some fans clambering for his head.
That's when the manager merry-go-round started.
Maybe Gio should have been backed with his own team of players instead of the rinse and repeat we've had ever since, which has cost us a huge amount of money.
Time to try something a bit different and back a manager that definitely has our best interest at heart with time to change the narrative.
02 Aug 2026 12:58:38
Should read Gio shouldn't.
02 Aug 2026 13:22:57
Actually it should.
I'm definitely having a moment. 🤣
