Sharing a debate i was involved in last night regarding Cammy Devlin fellow bears and bearettes. 👍 We were debating will Cammy Devlin under mcinnes consistently be a starter in our Rangers midfield. 🤔 ED, to gauge our feelings/thoughts on this subject on this site, would you be so kind to run a poll on here regarding this. 🤔

Yes, he will. He was the best player in Scotland before his injury last season, he was playing like a machine, everything we wish Raskin was for us.

I don't think he will play every game but will get a lot of time for sure. If Dahl signs, I think it'll be Neil Dahl, Devlin and Dragajevic (think that's how it's spelled) rotating in and out.

Yes, I think Devlin will be a regular, particularly domestic games. He's a better option than Dio, Chuck, Raskin and Barron. We really need to move these four on asap.

Thought Chuki did well in a very poor side the other day, and thought Dio really struggled as he seemed to be played too far wide. I would be moving Dio on as well, but Chuki I'd be keeping. You can see the talent there.

Sadly, under McInnes, Devlin will likely be a starter every week whether that's a good thing or not, the proof will be in the pudding.

Once Drago is up to speed, and language etc. is ok, and he's settled, he'll likely drop out for him.

He'll play in games where it's a battle, he won't be required when we have 10 men behind the ball against us.

He shouldn't be, but probably will. He is a squad player and a good squad player, Drago should be starting before him in time.
What I will say, if McInnes plays 442 the majority of the season, then he would last as Rangers manager. It's a terrible formation and we will constantly be overrun in midfield.

John, as you'll know from previous posts, mate, I've always stated on this site that we need a player like Barron, Devlin etc in our midfield, who are good at what they do to supply the platform for, shall we say, our better, more technical midfielders to flourish and do their jobs.
👍 I like both Barron and Devlin, but I honestly do think because McInnes is now our manager he'll clearly prefer Devlin over Barron because he's never been shy saying how much he rates and likes Devlin. 🤔 I think Barron could be sold, John, tbh. 🤔

SWS, I can only see Devlin being used as a squad player, mate, battles against Celtic, he'll be involved, can't see him involved in games with ten behind the ball, no need.

He will be a squad player and that's it. We don't go and spend money on a young player with bags of potential who is the exact same style as Devlin to leave him on the bench week in week out. He will play in matches, of course, but I suspect as a back up.
We can all agree he is suited to being that little terrier type, but he lacks the quality going forward or any real technical ability when it comes to passing.
Storm, 100% correct, if he continues with 2 in midfield, he won't see the season out, imo.

Really depends on who else we sign, to be honest, although he is ok if he is 100% starter I think we are in trouble. If he is the best we are going to have then we won't win much.

From the clip I saw the kid speaks fantastic English. Can't see much of an issue there.

Yes, Barron is not and never was the best midfielder in Scotland, which was rammed down my throat last season.
Gazza, the kid speaks excellent English, better than many on here.

Devlin and Drago are not the same type of player. Same position, yes, not same player.
Drago is an excellent passer of the ball. He can ping it all around the park from deep.
20 years - 60, 70 yards, doesn't matter. Excellent passer of the ball.

Sws, why did you ask the question if you just wanted the answer that you agreed with. I say sadly because him starting every week is an indictment on the rest of the midfield players we have at the club, and of McInnes' opinion of what makes a good player. McInnes picking him is only good enough reason for those who rate McInnes as a manager, and I don't.
I will be happy to be proved wrong and Rangers be successful, but I'm far from optimistic that he is the right man to lead us. That's my opinion, and if you don't like it fair enough, let's just wait and see who is right.
