This isn't a rumour but a transfer that makes sense.
Tav to return as RB but NOT Captain.
We desperately need cover at RB and he is more than capable of doing that job as a free transfer on much reduced terms.
Can give him his well deserved Testimonial to cover some of the huge offset in wages.
He knows he won't get what he was on but for me it's a no brainer.
I know I will get the usual comments of he was part of the problem etc but in terms of ability he is capable of being a good pro and squad player.

I'd take him fifty on the football side and it might right a wrong. But, I'd be interested to see what happened that made Rohl and the Rangers management make the decision at the end.

I don't think we need cover at RB as we are well covered for cover. We do need a starter at RB though and that's certainly not Tav anymore.

It's a plain & simple no. We have/are getting rid of the previous leadership group to let us down so many times, & he hasn't been anywhere near his best for a while. Last season you could see his legs were done.
He's been a fantastic player for us but it's time to move on, we need a younger RB with McCrorie being 28. He doesn't deserve a testimonial for the way he acted for not playing imo (Rohl wasn't in the right either).
Testimonial should be for those who retire.
I've never believed the talk of him getting/trying managers sacked but after last season & the drop off after the split were key players suddenly wet the bed. I'm starting to believe it.

I am all for missing a player and maybe not realising what he was worth to Rangers over his career. But he is done, and maybe there is an argument that he is still as good as our replacements, but that is more a slight on them and not on what we really need.
He wasn't offered a new deal because no one wanted to offer him a new deal. A testimony generally goes to charity as well.

James Tavernier suffered toxic fan abuse for years while he was here. Let him go and enjoy his life. He will find a new club, and a fanbase that appreciate him.
I would love James Tavernier to still be a Rangers player. But on a human level, he deserves better.
How much can that man take? He was blamed for everything and harassed in car parks, outside stadiums, etc. I think the guy deserves to go and just enjoy his last years as a footballer. He doesn't need the Rangers drama anymore.
