Opinion on last night
Shankland needs a large rather than medium jersey - overweight and did not offer much other than penalty
Curtis not gd enough like a wee boy against 2nd division team
McCrorie wd take Tav over him anytime. Completely unaware of surroundings caught wrong side of attacker at back post on numerous occasions does not look to have improved since last here
Neil looked like Dowell was back
Diomande someone needs to tell him to stop turning into trouble and losing ball constantly
Naderi headless chicken not gd enough
Rommens with Curtis in front of him obv not comfortable
Godfrey caught out with long ball and out of position too many times
Devlin only real positive
Before game Mcinnes said want to show fans what we are about etc etc and if that's it I'm really concerned.
Well aware of only a friendly but 1st opportunity for loads of players in front of fans and it was poor against a second rate team who bossed the game all over other than two pens. Need plenty more signings with drive and ability to break teams down. Played long ball for Chermiti to win and Shankland nowhere near playing off him. Hopefully much better showing Sunday with few more additions

I can't help but feel Shankland either needs to play as striker or not at all. Maybe, if we had wingers to get us up the park, it would help, but it looks like we will get overrun in midfield using him as a link up man, and isolating Chermiti at the same time.

Tbh, thought Naderi and Devlin did well. Fernandez was ok, and Aasgaard was decent. We lacked width, but it's a new system with new players, so 🤞🏼 time will fix it.
Mccrorie doesn't offer too much going forward, and not great defensively, but hopefully will get sorted for season start.

I also thought Shankland looked a bit 'heavy' & slow, but TV can get funny.
Go up a size in top & shorts, son, or trim down a bit.

Shankland has always been bulky, he's one of these players, not overweight like me, but Wayne Rooney type.

As much as I love Shanks, I was a little disappointed to see him overweight. He's about a stone overweight. In Shanks defence, that top even makes me look a bit heavy, without bragging I'm far from overweight. Maybe it's the pin stripes, idk.
Curtis does not look ready. And it's not pre-season not ready, it's technically and tactically not ready. Either runs into trouble or passes back. Isn't as quick as I thought he was. All the best sides have 4 good wingers at least. We have zip. Needs a whole year's loan.
On a brighter note, Delvin was fantastic. I didn't think his way of playing, especially with the dark arts stuff, would work for us because of the refs in Scotland. But actually I think it will work if Del uses him like last night. Because if he comes on a HT, then he only has 45 minutes to make sure he doesn't get sent off.
He winds folk up, so he's just as likely to get someone else sent off. Brilliant.
Aasgaard looked really good. Spending 6 weeks with Erling has paid off. He has the talent, all we need is consistency. Del will drive his standards up. Del obviously likes him. I can see why.
Is one RW and one LW going to be enough? What if one gets a serious injury? Might get us thru until January, but it won't do the season. Or we're left with Mr Scared of the Crowd, Antman, or the bogus Gasman.
Because I want to win the league so badly this year, I'm not really going to be giving players who have had chances but failed another chance. I still can't get Antman at Parkhead out my mind. He looked terrified. And a Rangers player looking terrified at Parkhead ain't for me. He's just not strong enough. But mentally and physically.

I seen 13 minutes as I was working, so I can't really comment, but Naderi nearly won the ball off defenders multiple times, but no one else helped press. Aasagaard was the only one looking for a forward pass, the rest didn't look like they wanted to go forward, & reminded me of Russell Martin with lost players & not understanding.
I'm worried, but we haven't been great for a few years during friendly matches, & this is about fitness more than anything. Rohl criticised that last season, saying they weren't at a standard expected, & Clement said the same too, so hopefully McInnes is focusing on that right now.

Big Dado, you are 100% correct on Shanks; he has never been a 10/behind the striker and never will be. He is a goalscorer and needs to play as a striker.
He does also need to up his size of strip. He should have been back in his best condition ever, especially signing for his team he has supported as a child.

We could sign Haaland, Bellingham and Vini Jar. And if they didn't 100% turn up at a pre season friendly, they wouldn't be good enough to wear the Rangers jersey.
Some of the comments on here are just soul destroyingly ludicrous.

Shankland is not overweight. He came back in good condition, and he's always looked like he carries a bit when he actually doesn't.
