Anything on Raskin to Villarreal for £17m?
18 Jul 2026 06:38:51
Not at that price, when you see some other transfers.
Belgian international who has just performed well at WC.
18 Jul 2026 08:31:35
I think we've blown it by setting a fee when he renewed his contract last year.
17 - 20 mill is the type of money teams in Top 5 leagues pay for young prospects, not for young international players who are now starting in a top international unit, being used to cover for De Bruyne.
Imo, anything less than 30 & we've blown it again.
18 Jul 2026 08:47:08
Bar, we get 30m for Raskin, we done one on the club signing him.
18 Jul 2026 09:15:27
£30m. 😂😂 Folk need to stop comparing with EPL prices.
18 Jul 2026 09:26:36
Engels 25 mill. Surely Raskin worth similar.
18 Jul 2026 09:31:52
Celtic won't get £25m for Engels, they're saying that in the press. We'll get more for Raskin than they'll get for Engels.
18 Jul 2026 09:47:29
Dado, they already rejected 25mill in Jan. Apparently deal for Raskin is 15mill plus add ons.
18 Jul 2026 09:54:35
Peter, the media said they rejected his fee, that could be true or as far away from being true as possible.
18 Jul 2026 09:58:52
Kaiser, EPL prices start at 75mill, for journeymen professionals.
30 mill is nothing in the world of the Top 5 leagues
If we continue to sell cheap (by those standards), we are screwed!!
18 Jul 2026 10:06:11
It wasn't 25, they rejected it was 20 million plus 5 in add ons. That's what was reported at the time, and then they just decided it was 25.
18 Jul 2026 10:19:59
Yeah, people need to stop believing what the papers write, Celtic have been very creative around their transfer fees for years. I'm sure somebody has stated previously that they include the wages saved within the overall transfer fee?
18 Jul 2026 10:34:54
Dado, Celtic just signed a player for a couple of million, mate, media is saying 6m, but including bonus payments and add ons, something is very wrong over in the darkside, we could kick on now.
18 Jul 2026 11:32:40
Celtic will get more for Engles than we will for Raskin. Engles has done it consistently in the Champ League and performed well in a top league before going to them. Raskin had a good few games in the WC, and his stats in the SPL last year were sporadic and did not stand out.
Engles is also younger and ticks more boxes.
If we get close to 20M, we will 100% accept it.
18 Jul 2026 11:43:50
It's not the value we create a price for Raskin's; the fact that teams in the top 5 leagues have monopoly-like financial status. So, yes, the more the merrier I say, and Raskin's still has a 2 Yr contract to run, so wait for silly money to be offered.
18 Jul 2026 11:50:34
Celtic bought Engels for £11 million and will sell for £25 million.
Rangers bought Raskin for £2 million and will potentially sell for £15 - £20 million.
What's the better deal?
18 Jul 2026 12:08:27
Mystar, it's interesting you scoff at 30 million for Raskin (a full Belgian internationalist in his prime years) but claim Chermiti is worth about that despite never having kicked a ball at full international level and had one average season in Scottish football? Raskin isn't worth 30 but whether it was 20 or 25 Celtic were offered for Engels at this moment in time.
Raskin is worth more as a full international who has just had a reasonably good World Cup. Not sure what Engels has done well at Champions League level? There was a time last year where he wasn't even a first pick for Celtic - I think 20 would be a fair price for Raskin, all things considered.
18 Jul 2026 12:09:48
Scotty123, what do you mean by Engles has consistently done it in the Champions League?
18 Jul 2026 12:13:47
I don't disagree, my star.
Mr P, you're bang on the money, I still think we'll get more for Raskin than they will, but let's see.
18 Jul 2026 12:18:11
His other teammates, Trossard, just went for £15m and Tielemans, about £35m. Well established EPL players. Comparing prices is pointless. We're never getting close to £30m for Raskin. Celtic may well get more, though it's also a lot of creative media talk, but it's also because they win things and are in the Champions League.
18 Jul 2026 12:18:53
Jackboy, because that is what you get for a young talented cf with great ability. 👍
Raskin is never a 30m player, Aston Villa just signed a cm in Gomes from Wolves for just over that fee, a player levels up from Raskin.
18 Jul 2026 12:33:53
Yeah, we should maybe start at 26million, if teams ask how we got to that valuation, we should just tell them because Engels is worth 25 and Raskin is better 🤔 Can anyone tell me what on earth Engels valuation has to do with what we get for Raskin? It's bizzare that keeps getting brought up.
18 Jul 2026 13:16:00
Tav, his status and his club's status as a Champions League side make a massive difference in player value. He's attracted interest through performances against elite sides rather than against Livi away.
18 Jul 2026 13:40:52
If that's what you said I'd have agreed with it, but you said he's done it consistently in the Champions League. He's played in it once.
18 Jul 2026 13:54:49
Scotty, and so does playing at a World Cup, when the other is sitting in the house.
