Captain? Assume with 3 new midfielders coming on or about to come in that Ferguson isn't coming. Would Shankland be captain? I'd say Chermiti is first choice striker so unless we play both, it's unlikely.
In need of 3 defenders still so I'm thinking a very experienced cb might be joining and joining as captain. Loving the fact we are bringing in guys who seem to be mentally up to wearing the badge. Just hoping for that bit of defensive stability next.

Assuming Dan Neil has been bought as a first team player, wouldn't be surprised (or disappointed) if he was handed the armband. Think you're right that if Shanks ends up rotating with Chermiti, it might not make sense to make him captain, though he undoubtedly has the experience and character to hold the position.

Why would we play 3 of our 4 strikers in a game? It leaves us little in the way of changing the game threat wise.

Just a thought, Bigbluejim, but obviously prefer a good winger, but Chermiti or Naderi could play in a front three with Shankland.
