Read a report this morning who's allegedly on the shortlist to replace steve clarke as the next Scotland manager, after his resignation in the early hours of this morning?The 4 names in the report were davie moyes, derek mcinnes, stevie naismith and ange postecoglu ?I think it worked out superb for us timing wise, by appointing derek mcinnes as our new Rangers manager when we did, as there's now no chance Scotland will get mcinnes for now, with him just getting the manager's job at Ibrox the one job he's always wanted above any other ?If mcinnes was still the Hearts manager just now and with clarke resigning, i honestly think the sfa would have absolutely went for mcinnes to be the new Scotland manager and i think he absolutely would have taken it ? Mcinnes has many times previously stated it would be an honour for him to manage his country and he'd love to be Scotland manager in the future ?
So timing is everything and mcinnes won't be Scotland new manager this time around and it was great timing like i said on Rangers behalf ???

Well said sws. And bang on. For me, Davie Moyes should have a go. Dodged a Bullit there, as Del Boy is now our man, and he will undoubtedly make his name a brand name in futures to come down Govan way. -- It's now time for international matters to close down on here, and concentrate on our club again, and hope the 3 players involved kick on with their careers after that shambolic display of mis management. I'll pick out young Curtis as a leading example.
The experience over there would have done him nothing but good, to mingle with footballs current elite. Shankland and Soapy will be fine. Clarke is now a distant past unless mentioned as manager of the Tims. Time now for a complete international rebuild. Reaching the last 32 would have him sent back a hero. At least we can now start from scratch, having made a World Cup and all that brought to our homes here and abroad.

Ange had teams with international defenders at Spurs and Forest and they couldn't defend to save their life. What's Ange going to do with Hanley, McKenna, Souttar and Hendry? Add 2 ageing left backs and 2 right backs, often injured, none of our keepers getting regular game time, it's a recipe for absolute disaster with his open style.
Moyes is on a bag of money at Everton in comparison to what he'd get at Scotland. It will be McGlynn, wouldn't be surprised if they spoke to McCann either (too soon imo).
I don't care either way. We've got McInnes, and Rangers are my no1 priority.

McGlynn is actually a good shout, Iron. ? I think Scott Gemmill should be in the mix, as he's a good coach with youths and knows every player coming through our Scotland unders. ?

Gemmill wouldn't be for me, but as I've said I really don't care. I want Scotland to do well, obviously, but my only concern is Rangers domestically becoming dominant again.

I think Naismith will get the job. I would love Moyes to be honest, I think he would do really well with us. But in my mind the SFA will be lazy and go for the continuity option in Naismith, who will also be quite cheap to appoint.
I appreciate everything Steve Clarke gave us in terms of getting us to tournaments, but now we need to start being able to compete at these things and restore some pride to the national team.
The underdog football is no longer necessary and we can do so much more and be so much better with the squad of players we have available.

It's not just a Scotland manager that seems to be the only problem, I believe they need to gut the SFA as well as have a pathway for our youths at club level and modernise our full game from the grass roots up. The problems we have are similar problems I think Italy have.

I could see SFA going for Moyes and match his Everton salary of 12 million a year.
Clark on 500k a year. We will go to Dundee, Utd, Killie, Naismith or Gemmill.
I'm glad my focus is England. I suspect I will never attend a Scotland game again.

Which would be nearly £10 million in comp in 2 weeks.
Hire McCanns and any other ex- Ranger available on the cheap.
Spend the profit on a big name player to excite the fans.
