I was told that when I wrote Dessers Igamane Raskin Butland Tav were all told to find new clubs it was more rubby

Seems like Raskin confirms what was said.

I still feel Martin should have been removed much sooner

His plan was clear no player he inherited was to remain.

14 Apr 2026 11:37:23
I agree he should have been removed much earlier and not appointed either, as we all knew how arrogant he was before he came.

Just glad that clown never managed to do any real damage to our club and force players like Raskin out.

Also, John, many on here like your contributions and respect what you say, bud, regardless of whether it pans out or not, but this is the internet, and on here lives these people we call trolls.

They thrive on being the dangly bit between a man's legs! I'm glad, though, that these are not stopping you posting now.

Bbj, I totally agree with you, I, for one, look forward to John, Asa, and everyone else, ITK, to throw things out there, as I unfortunately know hee haw on what is going on behind the scenes, and appreciate everything that they post.

Russell Martin forced Igamane out, did he not?

Imagine if Iggy had been able to play under Rohl now.

His fee would have doubled at least.

14 Apr 2026 12:05:12
Ally Iga wanted to leave before Martin came. Am sure John would be able to confirm that.

14 Apr 2026 12:17:53
And the fact Thelwell and Stewart hired and backed him so much shows just how useless they were. Very good move to remove them quickly.

14 Apr 2026 12:30:09
That's a good debate, if you were in charge, would you rather have kept Igamane rather than sign Chermiti based on what we have seen up to now.

14 Apr 2026 12:57:27
Absolutely, John, that Russell Martin eventually was wanting rid of every player that he didn't sign. ?

14 Apr 2026 13:13:51
Well said Bigblue. ?

14 Apr 2026 13:14:00
If we had bagged him even 2 weeks before, we would be well on course to winning the league.

14 Apr 2026 13:18:29
100% Igamane wanted out, coming back late, overweight, refusing to go on as a sub, it was all manufactured, he thought he was going to Marseille as soon as window opened.

Wsl I'd have kept Igamane another year and got rid of his sell on clause for a small rise.

14 Apr 2026 13:23:05
Exactly, Jorg. I live far away from Ibrox now, and know hee haw about any rumours etc, so I appreciate when these guys come on and share info or tidbits of what they hear. Whether I like the rumour or not is irrelevant, but I won't be calling them out should certain deals not happen. That's what this site is supposed to be about to me.

14 Apr 2026 13:28:34
That's true John and to think that a small element of our fanbase wanted to give Martin more than 9 weeks so that the players could learn his style. Martin should never have been given the job.

14 Apr 2026 14:02:46
Boyne, I think most fans felt it was unfair to judge in such a small time, and given we did spend a few quid, I'm glad he's a memory now and dr is doing a great job.

14 Apr 2026 15:06:42
Those comments about Igamane are completely incorrect.

14 Apr 2026 15:29:56
I think the truth will be somewhere in the middle. Yes, Igamane wanted out, but probably because he was told, like Raskin and others, Martin wanted them out. I always said Martin and Thelwell would be a complete disaster.

The only good thing, if there is one, is it's made Andrew Cavenagh take far more notice and a hands on approach. Maybe it's a lesson needed to learn, as he seems to totally get it now.

14 Apr 2026 16:09:45
When a player is told he's being sold to bring in a much needed profit; he has every right to pick and choose where he wants to go to play.

14 Apr 2026 16:18:25
Ehl, which comments as I assume u refer to me.

All 100% fact.

14 Apr 2026 16:37:17
Onewalter, he had plenty of time. The board had already stepped in and stopped him buying certain players, and also prevented the sale of Tav, Butland, Souttar and Barron.

Issue was, the new owner did not react to advice quickly enough.

14 Apr 2026 17:31:36
Most fans had already made up their mind that he had to go long before he got the bullet. Its was a small amount of fans who still fought his corner.

15 Apr 2026 09:29:09
Sorry John, I'm sure you believe them to be facts. However, they are not a true representation of what happened at the time.

Igamane was told over the post season that Martin didn't want him. He was free to find a new club and that he didn't need to report back for preseason.

We then failed to convert the deal for our main striking target and the club then recalled Igamane after the rest of the team had reported for preseason.

Given that I was the coach that was working with him when he reported back, I can confirm that he wasn't overweight - in fact he'd done a great job of looking after himself and training on his own.

That said, he was obviously a few weeks behind the rest of the team in terms of fitness, which was something that was constantly called out by Martin.

We've been over the rationale behind him refusing to come on as a sub - something I personally think was deliberately orchestrated by Martin. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion on that one.

However, just to clarify, he didn't return late and overweight. He returned when he was recalled and he was in good shape for someone that was training on their own.

Thanks for your reply, Ehl.

Why was he fined for his late return?

Interesting, u worked with him. We would have met on a number of occasions.
