Was like looking at the goals scoring charts because I said a few weeks ago when people were giving Chermiti stick that he's probably on course to have a better goal return than Dessers 1st season.
He's currently on 11 league goals (I think Dessers got 13). Which is kind of what I expected at this point.
Surprisingly though, he has the best goal per minute stats in the league. Something like 138gpm. With the amount of chances he misses that was quite surprising.
I know there was also some chat about selling him in the summer but don't think folk are taking his age into it. He's only going to get better and could be our 1st 20 league goal striker in a very long time.
Personally hope we are able to hold onto him for at least another year.

Let's hope he scores another 9 goals in last 5 games. Will go a long way to helping us clinch title, with others contributing their share as well.

He's definitely getting more confident wearing our jersey. Just feel sometimes his movement around the box isn't as a typical box striker like Miovski. I actually like Chermiti that bit deeper, in my opinion, with a more natural box striker in front of him.

I agree with you, GJD ? Through time, Chermiti could become a more prolific central striker, but I also think Miovski is the more natural finisher and knows where to be with the positions he takes up in the box ? I think the Chermiti and Miovski partnership is looking potent, and in these last 5 games I believe they could shoot us to the league title.

I liked seeing our 2 strikers play, and with Falkirk being so open, it gave us lots of opportunities to attack in waves. For the remainder of the season, I think playing 2 up top definitely depends on whether our midfield can cope and doesn't get overmatched.
Again, I was impressed at our delivery from wide, and do feel we need to settle on where the likes of Gassama plays, as his 2 45mins echoed some of our Jekyll and Hyde displays this season.
Safe to say, none of the top 3 are flying and all look vulnerable at times, and I still expect points will be dropped. However, I really felt the 2nd half was a blueprint for the run in. High intensity, plenty accurate crosses into the box (where our strikers were, as opposed to all over the park), and a sniping midfield. Play like that for 450 min and we have a great shot at the title.

I'd say we are the form team of the top 3, Macnaughten. Scoring goals freely, yes, also conceding too many, but we haven't had the luck, in terms of VAR & refereeing decisions that the other 2 have had, and, as you say, play the remainder of the games (particularly) like we did 2nd half yesterday, then the title is ours.

The way I see it, Chermiti 11 league goals, Miovski 7 league goals, seems obvious to me who has delivered more.
However, support them all, as I said several times, everyone has a contribution to make.

If Miovski worked harder he would get more starts. There is real concern he can't do 90 plus minutes.

I agree with all the points, I was just surprised to hear that he has the best goal to minute ratio in the league given he is also second in missing big chances.
Just hoping he keeps on progressing.
I also believe, if we're playing 2 up top then we need to play Miovski. He needs to play the 9 role.

Dessers scored 16 league goals in his first season having been involved in 35 league games.

It's interesting we are comparing Chermiti with Dessers, the other striker we have had recently, who could have doubled his goals totals just by scoring the sitters he missed. Chermiti had a good day yesterday because, although he missed a couple of big chances, he then managed to score two important goals, something he hasn't been doing out with a couple of big games.
That is more normal for a striker, and if he keeps doing that, then, he could fire us to the title.

Remember, John, and mention Chermiti starts most of our games. Miovski hadn't, so the 11 to 7 goals comparison is nowhere near a true reflection for me. ? Having said that, I would like both to get a run together.

The top strikers in the league are always at the top of this stat, still well over performing in xG, strikers paid heavily for the period when Dr comes in and secures us defensively, we were low chance creation and conceding with the focus being set pieces goals.
Chermiti will be player of the season. Just needs 4 goals across Hearts and Celtic, and I don't see how it could go to anyone else. Guy won us the title if he does that.

Walter Chermiti 15 starts. 10 coming on as sub.
Miovski 13 starts, 13 on as sbno, no real difference.
Chermiti best goals per min.
So comparing 15 starts to 13 is not a true reflection.
Remember, it's the manager that rates Miovski our number 3 striker.

Going to be honest here, this xG stat just does my head in. It's a made up number which means absolutely nothing to anybody.
I'm also reading a lot here about missed chances, couple of points on that.
Firstly, a good striker keeps his head up and doesn't let a missed chance ruin his confidence. Ally McCoist was the one who showed this best. Still on Ally, wonder what his missed chances stat would be?

Dessers didn't score 13 goals in his first league season, and in both his seasons he scored 20+.
Don't think any of our strikers are doing that, so let's not blatantly make stuff up, Zikos.

He doesn't count all the strikers' goals, just the league. A striker is judged on all goals in competition.

Fork, the thread is about league goals if you read the first post.
Last season, a poster on this thread did say three goals against Feaserburgh should not be counted.

I know, that's why I said Zikos only counts league goals. I judge a striker on all competitions, not just the league. It is why there were 2 sentences.
