Aphelion, brilliant, stats that support your player. I'm telling you, I've never seen many better keepers with the ball at their feet than Charles in all my days.
Rohl is interested in Charles. I just hope he signs then we see back tracking.

According to EHL My star, he's extremely confident that we've already agreed a deal to sign a new goalkeeper in January there for this summer and he's confident it's not Pierce Charles mate ? I'm thinking the same as you that Pierce Charles would be a good acquisition as he's a talented, young goalkeeper. ?

All I can really add to this debate is that Ernst is a football manager legend for me.
Which, as far as I'm concerned, is the only true metric our scouting department should consider!
Obviously, as Boy Blue says, context is key for stats, and, from the limited game time I've seen from both, Ernst looks the more confident shot stopper, while Charles visually looks the tidier ball player.
If either are real targets, I'd give Ernst the edge as I think he looks the more developed of the two. I think Charles looks very promising but fairly raw (again both of these from maybe a couple games each over the last year).

With dodgy shoulders and missed a lot of games and days to injury, gd keeper, yes, but I wouldn't, and it appears we have one lined up, and likely not him.

You left one major stat out there, Aph. Ernst conceded 34 from what I can see, mate. Tbh I think it's a hard comparison. You've got 2 keepers playing in different leagues in different countries, so although stats will give you an idea, there's so much more to factor in to the debate, guys, like is one of the keepers playing in a team that's always under pressure, what is the defence in front of them, what kind of pressure are they playing under, what league, etc etc.
Don't think you are going to agree, lads, all about opinion though.

Fork, and what about if his growth injuries don't get in the way now, because every chance that's what it is, you can't write any young player off that's had a couple of injuries. Well, I wouldn't even think about it anyway.
It's all good with Naderi having growth injuries when every chance that's Charles' problem.

Growing doesn't require surgery, and where is it documented it's a growth problem? As u say, "if his growth problem", we get it, you like the player. Others are allowed not to like or want him for whatever reason, it's their choice, thought, opinions. As I've said, it's a no for me. gd keeper but too risky imo.

Any stats comparing Charles with Butland? Personally, I prefer to have a keeper that makes important saves rather than being good with the ball at his feet. I know it's part of being a keeper nowadays, but keeping the ball out the net is still a keeper's primary job. We've got 10 others to make passes.

All this talk of keepers, people forget we have a very good keeper so why wast money on a new one. My son in law is from Northern Ireland a asked him about the injuries. He sayed nothing 2 do with growing pains. He did say that Charles did dislocate his shoulder when younger. Then he dislocated the other one a couple years later.its bothered him for years and got surgery on them both.

Apparently how good they are with the ball at their feet is now the number 1 quality to look for in a keeper rather than shot-stopping, dealing with crosses etc. Might as well stick a midfielder in there then! Utter nonsense.
It's a plus to be good with it at your feet that's all. Been loads of great keepers who weren't good on the ball. What next, a striker who has good hold up play but doesn't score goals. ?

Here's a novel idea. How about actually watching people rather than just looking at stats? Honestly, how can u compare one competing for promotion with one whose club is on the verge of going bust, who are struggling to put a team together.
