Alph, can I ask a question as you will be the person to ask as you have seen more of him, do you think Skov Olsen's best position is on the right wing or would he be more suited to the midfield, I was asking as obviously the guy has talent it is just finding the best position to get the best out of him, I was the same as a few quite excited on him coming to us.
17 Mar 2026 12:02:34
Jorg, I think he is very similar to Jens Petter Hauge from Bodo/Glimt.
He is a wide playmaker who could easily fit into a 3 man midfield, in my opinion.
17 Mar 2026 12:10:08
He doesn't seem dynamic enough for me to be a wide option the way we need him. If we reverted to 4231 or 433, he might be better as the furthest forward of a 3, centrally. I'll give him time, but he really does need to show us more before the end of the season to warrant the fee and wages going forward.
17 Mar 2026 12:26:48
Aphe-, Hauge plays LW, but do you think Olsen could play as a number 10?
17 Mar 2026 12:35:16
Yes, I do, Copland. Hauge is primarily a left winger, yes, but Kjetil has played him as the left-sided 8 on many occasions last season and in Europe.
17 Mar 2026 13:30:01
Aphelion, why do you think Olsen has really struggled and shown us very little in the games he has played? Obviously the SPL is probably the poorest standard league he has played in, and he still doesn't stand out. I'm sure he has played against a far higher standard of defender in previous leagues and, apart from Germany, has done well.

BT, I honestly believe it is purely a confidence issue at the moment.
He has come into new surroundings, low on confidence, and the pressure is high.
I do believe, once he is at full match sharpness and can do something to boost his confidence, we will see a much different player.
The boy is a really good lad, personally, and is calm. He has just had periods in his career where he needs an arm around the shoulder.
17 Mar 2026 14:00:44
Aphelion, you have done a great job in talking him up. There is nothing I would like more than for him to really show us his qualities and goals in our remaining 8 games. It's up to him; if he can help to win us the league, he will become a hero, but we're running out of time.
17 Mar 2026 14:04:31
I do agree that he needs to show much improvement soon, BT.
No one can hide from that.
17 Mar 2026 14:28:04
We all know Olsen hasn't done what's expected, but he's got time for changing that.
17 Mar 2026 14:48:56
I'd offer him another 6 month loan. Full pre season and no excuses. He wants the contract then go win it.
17 Mar 2026 14:55:00
He's only got 8 games to prove his worth, My star. My question to Aph. If Olsen is that good, why was he playing in the lower divisions of German football?
17 Mar 2026 15:01:29
But he wasn't playing in lower leagues though, Whatsmyname. Top flight, you must be getting confused with Naderi.
17 Mar 2026 15:02:13
When did he play in lower division?
17 Mar 2026 15:06:57
Had a bit of a mare there, Whatsmyname.
17 Mar 2026 15:11:28
What's my name going by league rankings.
This is the lowest level by rankings that Skov Olsen has played.
17 Mar 2026 15:17:53
Sorry guys. Becoming a bad habit of mine, not reading things properly.
17 Mar 2026 17:57:36
We can't seriously be thinking about signing Olsen permanently and hoping he regains his form.
If this is him trying to improve and get himself back in the shop window, then I'd seriously question his effort and desire.
Maybe another player who thought Scottish football would be a breeze and they just need to turn up.
I wouldn't be against another loan deal, but his wages or the percentage we pay would seriously need to be looked at.
17 Mar 2026 18:19:07
I have to agree with you, Zikos. It would be madness to spend that amount of money on him.
17 Mar 2026 19:16:31
What's our thoughts on our young loanee winger Findlay Curtis currently at Kilmarnock. ? Do we think he's good enough to come back to Rangers in the summer and be a very good player for us, and in all probability the replacement for Mikey Moore. ?
17 Mar 2026 21:40:55
I really thought Skov would make a genuine difference, and apart from flashes, I've been let down. I'm understanding that he's lacking match fitness and confidence, but he needs to show more. I think I'd like to see him in the middle behind the strikers as a 10.
17 Mar 2026 22:00:09
He's clearly a class act in terms of ability, probably along with Hatate and McGregor, the best in the country on ability.
I just don't think he's interested anymore.
Someone else said he recently (last year) said he's not in love with football anymore, and it's just a job.
Sorry, but our £8 m players can't just think we're a job to them, man. He's not got the heart for this club.
The jersey is too heavy for Olsen.
