I'm not as big as many on stats but thought I'd share this.

Here are the average points per league game with the four managers in charge, so the results of Martin and Nancy don't count.

McInnes: 2.17
Askou: 1.82
O'Neil: 2.5
Rohl: 2.29

If these stats were to continue, then Hearts win the league by 2 points with us back in third, 5 points behind them. Luckily it doesn't always work like that.

That's likely going to play out, imo. The 6 points dropped to Hibs, Motherwell, and Livi away, coupled with a 2nd half collapse against them, have cost us. I've no doubt we won't take full points in the last 9 games, sadly.

I think John or EHL said a while back we have agreed terms with 2 players for the summer. I was wondering, if we don't qualify for Europe, are those terms in jeopardy?

10 Mar 2026 17:37:38
Lmac, that's kind of my thinking. Not so much the Celtic game, even though 2 nil up. But to drop points away to Livi and 10-man Motherwell could prove very costly: 4 points.

Equally, if our form of the last 5 SPL games continues, we'll be lucky to finish 3rd. Lbh, we've absolutely crumbled at the business end again. Some get a hard time on here for being negative when there's not been much to be positive about over the past 15 years.

No way we don't qualify for Europe.

Form is temporary, we don't know how our team will perform or the results over the coming stretch, but we are in a great place considering our wretched start to the season, so this, in my eyes, is a free hit and we have nothing to lose. Keep the faith.

Correct, Bb4. You need the players and manager to give you something to be confident about. But we have seen this all before.

I think Angus made some good points recently about how Rohl's priority was to shore up the defence. We scraped some wins, but looked much better at the back. Now he's trying to implement a more attacking style, and we definitely are on the front foot more in games. The first half of the first OF game and the Hearts game were very good. Even in the Livi game we created 30+ chances. The downside is we look more vulnerable at the back at times again.

At the weekend, we dominated but didn't create many clear-cut chances until late in the game. Hard balance to strike, and we've def not found it yet. We are Jekyll and Hyde, and so it's hard to see us winning our last 9 games. 8 wins and a draw might do it, but can't see it at the moment. Kind of feel like, had we won that OF league game, that could've been the momentum builder we needed to kick on. It's still possible, though. Trying to keep believing.

I think (and hope) we'll just be too strong for Motherwell, Bb4. I wonder how long it'll be until we have a real title challenge. It's going to be tough to attract players after a 3rd place finish. Absolutely pathetic.

Cooper 11, the attack seems to take more time to gel, I read. And he has had 3 weeks with more time in training, so I also believe that isn't enough. Naderi and ASO are new, so they will take time.

Attacking more, to me, means we will be more fragile defensively until it clicks. But tbh I can't be 100 per cent sure, just what I have read.

Paul 86, I feel I am due an apology for my comments a couple of days ago when I mocked your comments that the Union Bears were only wanting to push back the Tims pitch invasion.

At the game I was in Copland Front and saw UBs on the pitch encouraging others to get on the pitch.

Today I spoke to my son, who was in Govan Rear and thus got a better view of the chaos. He said when Tims were spilling onto the pitch, Celtic players and management team were encouraging it, taking selfies, joining in, etc., and my son said he was expecting around 2.5 of them to join in and that they were receiving every encouragement from their club to do so.

My son is far from an admirer of UBs, but said that from where he was sitting the UBs' invasion of the pitch put off the majority of Tims, who didn't want to get into a hand to hand fight in the middle of the pitch.

In effect I now believe that the UBs' actions, which I don't agree with, maybe did in fact help stop thousands more Tims joining the pitch invasion.

So Paul, I think you had a point all along, although at the game I thought UBs' only motive was to get into a scrap.

Absolutely zero need for apology. Everybody has their own opinion, mate, and can change it freely if they like. Don't worry about it. ?

Great post, Cooper11. I agree that since the new guys came in and we try to be more attacking, we've leaked more at the back. Ironically, though, we've also struggled to score a few times.

The UB should be banned for life from Ibrox after the weekend.
