Just for a bit of fun, I'm not calling for DRs head in any way, but.

IF we finish the season with no trophies and 3rd in the league, and considering the money we'll have available to spend, would you;

1. Re-appoint Phil Clement
2. Re-appoint Gio
3. Re-appoint SG
4. Appoint Other
5. Keep DR

Assume 1. and 2. were options.

Ed's could we have poll please?

Thank you.

Rangers manager poll

07 Mar 2026 14:50:36
Rohl keeps his job, but his coat is on a very shoogly peg. 2nd place is bad enough, but 3rd is a disaster. Only because of the mess we were in after Martin, does he get credit in the bank.

07 Mar 2026 14:54:20
Keeps his job no matter what, but finishing 3rd would put a fair bit of pressure on for next year.

07 Mar 2026 14:58:33
Appoint JBA unless Rohl wins the league.

Even if he comes 2nd with a cup - I know that's a tough one.

I just think JBA had a style of play which would virtually guarantee multiple league titles.

Zikos, my friend, there's absolutely no chance that Jens Berthel Askou will be replacing Danny Rohl as our next manager, and it never will happen. Firstly, in Danny Rohl we trust, and secondly, imo Askou will be the new Celtic manager this summer, which, of course, would rule him out of ever being Rangers manager, mate. ?

07 Mar 2026 15:12:53
We have to remember Danny took over from a mess at the start of the season. If we had Danny from the start, I think we would have been first in the league.

07 Mar 2026 15:17:28
Coops, I'm not so sure about that, mate.

Apparently it's going to be Martinez from Portugal.

Also linked with Robbie Keane.

I think he'll be on their list, but maybe 3/4/5 choice.

07 Mar 2026 15:48:02
I would appoint the Motherwell manager.

07 Mar 2026 15:50:31
Stevie, we know you can't go with bookies but he is fav with them for Celtic job. I don't think it will be Martinez. In fact, I'll go and say it won't be him. I'm sure he is in for another job but can't remember who.

Coops, the post is asking for opinions etc, so Zikos is well within his rights to say who he wants.

07 Mar 2026 15:56:59
RFC 55 - I tend to agree. Saying that if Derek McInnes had been installed as our manager at the start of the season, I reckon we would be top of the league too.

07 Mar 2026 15:59:06
Has anyone on here changed their minds about McInnes? He was a real talking point at one time on here. Most people were dead against him, but you must hand it to him and Motherwell's manager for that matter.

07 Mar 2026 17:17:09
If we had kept Clement, and gave him the same backing, we could very well be top.

07 Mar 2026 16:12:14
Only been in 4/5 months and got us in a position to win the league. Needs a couple of windows, still learning on the job.

07 Mar 2026 16:14:56
Clement, right now, would be a different story, Slim Jim, a man doing jobs he never signed up for.

07 Mar 2026 16:44:07
Interesting. More than two thirds of those that voted would keep DR. for at least next season.

That's heartening. I would say he needs at least next season.

Surprised so few voted for PC considering the job he's doing at Norwich.

07 Mar 2026 16:57:34
People saying about Celtic and Motherwell still need to play Hearts. Are they seeing the score with Dundee v Motherwell today? I wonder if they still hold hopes that Motherwell will do anything vs either of them.

As soon as you look to others to do you favours, I think it's pretty much gubbed. I think we will need to win every game from now to the end of the season, and I don't know if this group is strong enough yet to do that.

07 Mar 2026 16:58:31
I really like Big Phil.

The last board threw him under the bus with the chaos he had to contend with, and the players turned on him.

07 Mar 2026 17:11:34
Gio all the way. He got us to a European Final, then had hardly any backing before losing his defence. Remember Sands and King? He then got the rat treatment.

07 Mar 2026 17:13:52
Meant to say keep Danny, but if not, would have been Gio.

07 Mar 2026 17:34:32
Gio was a terrible manager domestically. He was backed with decent money, but once he started to break up Gerrard's side the football went from bad to worse. While you might argue whether he was doing the signings, the players he brought in were terrible, and we have had to suffer them for years.

Guys like Davies and Matondo have hung about like a bad smell, costing us huge money in wages while doing nothing for it. Remember, too, the reason he was left with King and Sands was because he freed Balogun a season too early.

07 Mar 2026 17:35:03
Lol. Why would we reappoint Clement?

07 Mar 2026 17:36:37
Storm, so you would prefer to appoint Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou instead of having Danny Rohl as our head coach. ?

07 Mar 2026 17:50:14
P.S. Keep Rohl. Excited to see what dr can do with a full pre-season and a few top class additions.

07 Mar 2026 18:14:56
I remember people on here saying Gerrard was helped to league success by the fact that there were no crowds to get on their backs. Can you imagine being 23 points clear with a full house at Ibrox? It would have been amazing.

07 Mar 2026 18:19:26
Coops, the post says just a bit of fun, so yes I would take the Motherwell manager in a heartbeat. But I think he will be at Celtic and, if not there, maybe somewhere like Brighton.

07 Mar 2026 18:24:27
I think w need to hang fire on Askou in terms of judging, he's had a phenomenal season, let's see how he does next year.

07 Mar 2026 18:49:00
Being serious, Storm, I'd prefer us to keep Danny Rohl over Jens Berthel Askou all day long, mate. ? I think Rohl, given time, will do a very good job as our head coach, and remember Askou is the manager of a club where there's absolutely no pressure as opposed to the pressure Rohl has as Rangers head coach. ?

07 Mar 2026 18:51:50
Absolutely spot on, Gers 70. ? He's in a very no pressure job at Motherwell, where expectations are very minimal, and there is a planet of a distance between the pressure of being Motherwell head coach and being the Glasgow Rangers head coach. ?

07 Mar 2026 20:02:01
Forever, I'm one who said Motherwell will have possibly the biggest say in who wins the league, but I'm not looking for favours from them. There are 9 games left, and they have 5 against us, Hearts, and Celtic. They are also fighting to be as high up the table as possible, and have been rightly lauded by many as playing the best football in the league, so it's not outrageous for them to get some results in the run-in.

As more than half their games are against the top 3, it's a no-brainer they could have a major say.

07 Mar 2026 20:19:13
Baz, I think if Jens stays in Scotland next season, he wins the league at a canter.

07 Mar 2026 21:12:38
Coops, you are entitled to that opinion. I have a strange feeling that, by the end of next season, Rohl will not be our manager, and I really hope I am wrong, as I have nothing against him.

07 Mar 2026 22:27:37
Storm, I get the feeling that if the fans turn on Rohl he would walk away.
