Huge game on Sunday. Not just for the players. Or the fans who see a potential title number 56. But it's huge for Rohl. He has to get his tactics spot on. And of course, his team selection.

Does he go with the 4-4-2 ( or 4-2-2-2 whatever you want to call it ) that blew Hearts away in the second half?

Or does he change, remembering that Celtic under Nancy at New Year could have blown us away first half.

He started that game 4-3-3. Made a second half substitution of Diomande for Aasgaard and the rest is history. Celtic were in a 3-5-2 under Nancy. They have moved back to the tried and tested 4-2-3-1 under O'Neil.

Old Firm games are traditionally won in the battle for the midfield.
Will it be Raskin and A.N. Other?
Or will he change to a traditional 3? Personally, I'm going the 4-4-2.
It gives something for Celtic to think / worry about. Especially at the back.
The closer it gets, the more nervous I'm feeling. A must win in my eyes.

Lose and Hearts win; we are 7 behind.
Draw and Hearts win; we are 6 behind.

Not insurmountable, but with games running out we would be needing others to start doing a favour.
Keep the Faith. ?⚪?

Why the sudden change of heart, MPH? You used to mock suggestions of 442, and now you want us to play it. So what's changed your mind?

27 Feb 2026 10:38:52
Boom, but it's not used as an old school 442 though, is it?

27 Feb 2026 10:41:03
I want Chermiti and Naderi in that box, challenging their defenders. They can be weak in that area.

I also don't mind the idea of Chermiti and Moore both playing as No.10s, looking for holes and outmuscling them centrally.

27 Feb 2026 11:01:19
Mystar, you used to mock 442 as well. Why have you now changed your mind? Interesting to see why those who were against it have now realised that 442 was an excellent suggestion. I wish we had played it sooner.

27 Feb 2026 11:16:24
Coldo, different from a 442 you're talking about, though. Fluid is what I'm looking for: 442, 4222, 343 or whatever the system. Now I know you're ?, zero response now. ?

27 Feb 2026 11:19:01
Football can be quite cyclical. Personally I'm glad it seems to be coming back. I've never liked one up front.

27 Feb 2026 11:25:11
How's it different? 442 was all that was mentioned. So, how do you know it's different? It's frustrating that 442 was mentioned years ago.

27 Feb 2026 11:25:38
Rosto- Moore won't outmuscle anyone, pal - just hope his pace can hurt them, though. My main concern is nullifying their midfield - ie keep McGregor quiet, and stop ammunition getting to Maeda / Yang / Tounetki, and we will have won a watch.

It will be interesting to see how Rohl sets up his midfield on Sunday. ? Biggest game of Rohl's tenure to date - so hopefully we do the business. ?

27 Feb 2026 11:33:34
Yeah, me too, Kaiser. Two up top was laughed at and called outdated; now the very same people want two up top. I suppose some take a bit longer to catch on.

27 Feb 2026 11:57:30
It was more of 4222 against Hearts. Both Olsen and Moore came inside, basically a box of four in midfield, even had Raskin spitting the cb's. It definitely wasn't an old 442 system.

That can only be laughed at, Gregory.

27 Feb 2026 12:18:38
Champions of our league over the last dozen years or so have only used one centre forward. O'Neill, Rodgers and Ange of Celtic, or Gerrard of Rangers, must have thought that the old 442 was outdated then, Gregory.

27 Feb 2026 12:32:09
Why are you talking about old 442 systems?

27 Feb 2026 12:38:47
Just saying, it doesn't get used like it did years ago, Gregory. Well, it certainly wasn't used against Hearts, modern kick. ?

27 Feb 2026 13:14:18
I think MyStar has spelled it out perfectly and Dolly Dimple for you, Coldo.
Previous managers didn't want to play 4-4-2.
And we probably never had the personal either.
But Rohl likes to mix it up and plays a fluid version of a few different systems, including an old-fashioned 4-4-2, but with a modern twist.
And he also has the players capable of playing this system.

27 Feb 2026 13:32:02
Blue-Floyd, you're right, mate. Moore won't outmuscle them, but Chermiti dropping deeper with Moore creating stuff could work, imo. Kinda like having 2 no.10s, with Naderi up front as well.

Rohl likes a fluid system.

Both Chermiti and Moore could be a handful in that area, with their mix of Chermiti's strength and Moore's skill. Both have pace, and could cause their shaky defence lots of problems.

27 Feb 2026 13:39:20
It's very simple, Gregory. You need certain players to play that system. You've just been shouting about it non-stop, no matter what players we had at our disposal. It took people longer to catch on to a system that's been used before anyone on here was born, yeah, that makes sense. ?

27 Feb 2026 13:43:37
I would not say Moore has the pace, to be fair. He is similar to Gazza and Durrant in carrying the ball fluently and making space for himself. What all of the above do or did is run directly with the ball at the defence, which is a defender's worst nightmare.

27 Feb 2026 14:16:19
Diomande must start alongside Raskin, I would probably go traditional 4-3-3 and hopefully nullify their midfield.

27 Feb 2026 16:12:20
I would too, Aphe. I think the formation against Hearts will get overrun in midfield. It seems a lot of fans are forgetting how bad the first half was at Parkhead. On another day we would have been 4 down, but thankfully we weren't and we won, but it's still a warning.

27 Feb 2026 16:14:12
How did you work out Gregory is Coldo on his first post. Genius mate.

27 Feb 2026 16:50:45
Have to disagree, Aph. I think this is a must-win game and we shouldn't worry about nullifying Celtic; we should play to our own strengths and really take it to them. 2 up top for me, mate.

27 Feb 2026 17:21:53
I usually want the midfield battle to be the first we win during an Old Firm match, but I think this current set of players are more effective playing 2 up top. How we get the best of the rest of the team is a bit trickier.

Butland.

Tav, Souttar, Fernandez, Rommens.

Raskin, Dio, Chunk.

Moore.

Chermiti, Naderi.

Baz, because he always uses a smart name, either very Rangers linked or something he thinks is smart, hidden and Celtic linked. I tried to point out that link to the name before, but the Eds rightly didn't post it, as I didn't word it in a way that was right, and I am now sorry for making it.

Also, most of his posts are instant posts against Star. It is becoming more obvious the longer it goes on.
