I think the sites been pretty friendly and really respectful recently so can I ask where this notion that people don't want to say names they know we're signing or aftet etc?
It's a rumours site more than anything else so is that not the whole point of being on the site?
I know people wil say it's upto them what they do but c'mon to fuc* man. If ye aren't going to say the name don't tell us u know it and basically play a game of I know something u don't know it's not what the sites dor and it's a bit shi* to the fans that don't get the info and come in for that reason, in the most respect maul way I can I'm asking folk to just give the info and leave it at that don't take the doubters too serious.

The thing is Stevie the actually do throw names in there. But for some reason when it comes to a "someone even bigger than Olsen" or "he's not even the biggest one" they somehow don't say the name.

Some guys on here either work at auchenhowie or are friends with someone high up there. These are the most reliable guys on here and if they leak names it could fall back on them badly or even mean losing their jobs so I respect them for any info they give and also respect their decision to keep names to themselves.
But trust me you will eventually know who the reliable ones are and if they say something is going to happen take it as gospel.

StevieG I with you to a certain extent. I prefer hearing names and gossip. It's what I started following for. I even enjoyed the old taxi and airport rumours of I saw Messi at a petrol station in Pollok. Unfortunately I think some just can't be bothered with the flack from some for things not working out even though their posts were genuine. I do think some others like to play the game to wind up tho. And others only have partial info but still pass it on. For example I asked EHL about his done and dusted players but he hadn't actually been told the names, just that they were done.
But it still gives excitement to know there is more to come and it's not just 3 so far. So suppose the anticipation will need to do.
There has still been a fair amount names flying about in the meantime anyway. Aphelion got it spot on ahead of anyone about Skov and gave me info straight away regarding Chuk. So hopefully more names will be thrown into the mix for discussion.
I would also like to agree the site has in the most part been a lot friendlier with good banter and some decent debate as well as support for ones going thru hard times so good to see that.

I think like the majority on here, I'm very grateful to those that pass on information (correct or incorrect) ahead the main stream media. And like the majority on here I would agree that people have the right to post info they have or keep it to themselves, that's entirely up to them.
On the flip side though I would agree that if you don't want to mention a name, then don't mention anything at all or all you are doing is rubbing people up the wrong way and appearing like you're trying to show off a bit.
On a separate note I'm delighted with how Danny Rohl (+ the board) are approaching things. It's a breath of fresh air. Some proper football, a proper title race, and some proper signing!

Disagree Stevie; Aphelion broke the Skov Olsen story before we knew, we suspected but didn't know, yet some, usually the same ones can't wait to bring up past indiscretion, they look for some small slip to jump on every comment, it's the same sad individuals, all u have to do is look u can see it.
John has also been attacked as has EHL and others, some just can't accept when told and go out to disprove anything some posters may offer, if u look posters are tailing of, Berkshire, Copland, 3 cheers and others gone, stig, ss, Storm, Johnand others posting less for varying reasons, all have commented on this when offering info, some have stepped back myself included, other reasons, but as SS said the bitching on here at times is pathetic, one reason I'm not on much, used to love coming on here and being jovial, crack a joke, stir a pot for fun but now it's a chore.
Yes its a rumours site that thrives on rumours, but as experience has shown sometimes not keeping your counsel can lead to vitriolic and accusatory posts calling people's characters and even identity in to question.
I can do without that.
Sometimes anticipation can make the reservations worth the wait.

I get told things like,
-The calibre of players we're looking at is ridiculously good, it's time to be excited
-We're working on 5 deals, and all are looking really promising
The guys I used to work with don't just casually reveal names at 5's / 7's.
If you don't like what I post, feel free to ignore it, engage with it or b! tch about it.
Doesn't bother me one bit either way.

Robbie then explain what you gain out of posting a rumour if there is no name. It's not a rumour then really. It lacks the main ingredient. The actual player in question. I actually believe this is how a lot of the arguing originates from on the rumours page. It's a bit of teasing someone.

Ehl this is exactly my thinking, and I'm glad you said it. I believe the majority get into like the info you have stated. Looking for a striker, want 5 players in etc etc. And I believe they don't reveal the names. And I'm good with that. I think the problem is people gatekeeping (or at least making it out they are gatekeeping) is what ends up peeing people off.
If someone came on and said for example, "we are in discussion with 2 more players, but no names have been given to me", I feel there would be less annoyance and people sniping. It's when a poster says "we are speaking with 2 players but I'm not telling yous the names as I'll get attacked" or along the lines of that. That's what's annoying.

EHL I think what you say is how the club are working these days so names aren't escaping from there. we can't keep plater's agents quiet etc but if we have a deal on the go do we really want to alert other clubs to the players availability.
it is good that the coaches etc at the club respect that need for that confidentiality.
Like OT I am happy with the type of posts you mention as it shows the way the club are looking. so not that it matters what I think but I appreciate those insights.

EHL, I don't doubt for 1 minute the guys we are 'looking at' are exceptional, top quality etc. but in the last few years (or more) what we have signed has been 2nd or 3rd choice on the picklist. or 'projects'. would be nice to get 3 or 4 first team starters from the TOP list.

I honestly have no issues with any posters who doesn't like / believe what I share - so have no intention of spitting the dummy, throwing my toys out my pram and leaving in protest, or worse, threatening to leave.
My only frustration with this site is that there are a few petty posters who ruin loads of decent threads with their pathetic online beef and one upmanship - I believe this puts newcomers off posting and contributing, which is just really sad as we really could be doing with some old posters returning and some new posters joining.

if someone's been told we will bring in x amount of players, should they not post it because it doesn't have names? I don't get any info or know anyone who does so i'm hardly going to wet myself or have a go at people who do for not naming names.
The last person we signed someone on here broke the name before it was in the media?
