ASO deal almost done
Number seven squad number could be the one.
13 Jan 2026 14:03:07
Yes what's the story.
Finally Rangers back shopping in the big leagues.
13 Jan 2026 14:55:26
If we get him as well as Rommens and Chuki this will be an excellent window and a real show of intent from the new owners.
None of them may work out because player recruitment is so hit and miss but they all look like good signings.
If this window is as crucial to a title challenge as is being discussed then we are certainly doing our bit.
13 Jan 2026 14:57:47
So hope option to buy will be a bit disappointed if not, don't know much about him but going by other posters seems like a different level of player than we've been signing lately.
13 Jan 2026 14:59:07
What's the story Aphelion? haven't have shopped in the biggest league in the world for a while mate?
13 Jan 2026 14:59:32
Aph, it's been a long wait well done for the updates and info you post I'm sure appreciated by all.
13 Jan 2026 15:00:13
Aphe what do you call a semi in norway because I have one. ?.
13 Jan 2026 15:26:11
My star no we have not been competing with big teams for signings for a while.
We pay over the odds for players in the epl that no one else seems to want.
I know you are against this transfer but do you need to bring negativity to every single post.
13 Jan 2026 16:29:01
Excellent post Aphelion keep them coming please.
13 Jan 2026 16:32:31
Aphelion so we haven't signed players other clubs want, nonsense mate, you telling me nobody wanted Tillman or Cerny signed on loan from better leagues?
13 Jan 2026 16:39:50
I got a bungalow Dado.
13 Jan 2026 16:42:22
Correct Aph, we haven't, as we didn't have the funds to compete, that's why we had a cost cutting exercise, then 49ers took over.
13 Jan 2026 16:43:45
I agree with aph this is a significant shift
It does concern me finances wise but still buzzing to see skov at Ibrox.
13 Jan 2026 17:04:53
No deal is done until he's standing there with the Rangers scarf above his head guys and i hope and pray we see that shortly ?I will be absolutely delighted if we sign andreas skov olsen and can close my eyes and visualise him standing there with the Rangers jersey on with the scarf above his head ?If this deal happens like i've said before it will easily be the best signing of any scottish club, in this january transfer window bar none for me ?An absolute game changer in this title race for me ?.
13 Jan 2026 17:17:50
You said biggest league in the world.
A term only used when talking about the EPL.
So again you change to suit.
We signed Tillman and Cerny on loan.
Neither wanted to sign permanently.
Skov Olson wants to sign permanently.
13 Jan 2026 17:17:57
Cheers for info whatsmyname and aphelion.
13 Jan 2026 17:27:07
Correct Fork, that fact is lost on some.
13 Jan 2026 17:31:20
My star you are coming across argumentative just for the sake of it on Aphs posts ref skov olsen.
It is pretty clear we are making a step up
In calibre signing wise in most people's opinion. Pretty much all of us would have had to google Tillman and he definitely wasn't an established player. Cerny I had never heard of and had to google but sure some had. most of us have followed skov olsen since he was linked along time ago…so the excitement is valid for us.
He may be a disaster but equally he may be ridiculously good and we get him permanently…that's the joy of it. No one knows for sure.
It's exciting though.
13 Jan 2026 17:42:57
I'd like our wage structure kept in tact with new signings.
We've worked hard over the last few years to reduce it.
13 Jan 2026 17:55:58
Star come on now are you for real? We haven't been a competitive force when aiming for signings for some time and as Aph stated neither of those 2 you mention wanted to stay.
Not to mention most our signings have been championship and below so not even the "biggest" league in the world.
The fact we are trying to sign ASO shows that this new board are well behind making us the most dominant force in Scotland again and let's just wait and see if they follow up with more high quality signings.
13 Jan 2026 17:56:11
Coully believe it on not I am excited about him, especially that level of player, but is he going be the player he was at Brugge, hopefully yes, no, it costs us more cash we don't have, probably thinking too much after Martin, Thelwell and Stewart.
13 Jan 2026 18:02:06
ASO has got to move country, get fully match fit and up to speed in Scottish football at the same time adjust to being back in a pressured environment where he will be singled out by the hatchet men.
It took Cerny a wee bit time to settle and find his feet.
He might be similar. If he arrives can we all take this into consideration before he's written off.
13 Jan 2026 18:08:28
My star would rather we signed Gogic and Devlin.
13 Jan 2026 18:18:45
re finances I would only say we are no longer being managed by Rangers fans. not a criticism of the board who went before as they did what they could to try and make us successful. what I mean is that the 49ers are businessmen first and won't be swayed to make poor financial decisions.
I know businesses fail all the time but not ones run by the 49ers enterprises.
if they are trying to go all in to get ECL qualification and it doesn't work I don't think they will do it again. but it would place us in a. good position for next year.
13 Jan 2026 18:36:33
Mystar if they didn't have it they wouldn't spend it.
13 Jan 2026 19:33:24
bornbear no why?
13 Jan 2026 20:44:52
L-Mac great post.
