Genuine question people, what are our thoughts on Chermiti now?

Myself and beale always thought he looks a player. Since his 1st game we were the only 2 to say he looks a player.

What's everyone's thoughts on him now?

05 Jan 2026 00:59:14
would say your statement that you were the only two isn't true and a number of people including myself said they could see a player in him, i have continually backed him an stuck up for him.

I'm also not going to get over excited after two good performances in a row. My thoughts on him now are exactly as before, can see good signs and still needs developed.

05 Jan 2026 02:27:10
Time will tell, he has only looked the part last 2 games
Let's see how goes in next 3 or 4 games that should give better indication on where he is at. now that he should get lift from performance in Celtic game. not sure his hold up play and first touch is the best.

05 Jan 2026 06:44:58
Are you seriously doing a "told you so" post because the boy doubled his tally for the season in one game? There were many on here you said he had something about him but as almost every single person would agree we can't afford £8m on a project player.

Nobody will change their opinion until he is consistent with his performances and goals.

05 Jan 2026 07:27:36
No doubt he has quality, whether he turns out to be an out and out goal scorer that can get decent numbers over a season and justifies his large transfer fee over the length of his contract remains to be seen. Jury is still out for me at the moment.

05 Jan 2026 07:31:03
One minute he's a dud the next a superstar. he's neither he's only 21, A young player with potential who has a long way to go still.

05 Jan 2026 07:33:36
Lads it's too early to say but the signs are looking better for Chermiti, players need a season at least to adapt to the burly style of football in Scotland. I actually agree with the managers assessment of too much inconsistency and frankly that can be aimed at the whole squad, I can only think of one player who has played at the required level for more than maybe 2 games on the trot all season, Barron, for me he has been best for consistency obviously under Rohl its trending upwards thankfully.

New year new tempo required to kick on and in Danny we trust to take us to the next level.

05 Jan 2026 07:55:03
There is far more evidence to say everyone else is correct and you few were wrong…. However last 3 games there has been a considerable upturn in his game. I'm putting it down to being well coached and hoping it can only continue and get better, he will still have poor games as he is young and relatively inexperienced. It's looking better for sure.

05 Jan 2026 07:55:32
I think the fact we have been picking up points and others are scoring has taken the focus away a bit. Hopefully the big guy can keep it going. Never wish any Rangers player not to do well.

05 Jan 2026 07:57:59
Stevie G, you've said countless times a player will come good only to be proved wrong, an Chermiti hasn't came good yet so let's wynd it in a wee bit with these told you so posts.

05 Jan 2026 08:04:03
I don't think we'll ever turn a big profit out of him but putting money aside we could turn out to have a decent striker in there after all. Needs to keep improving and show more consistently. Hard to judge him on a couple of good games.

05 Jan 2026 04:08:34
Tav perhaps I should've worded it differently then. Myself and beale were the 2 most vocal. I never noticed a single orher person sticking up for him aftet his first game other than me n Beale.

What did u say aftet his first game?

Jasper that's a fair way to look at it mate.

05 Jan 2026 05:10:16
The only two? Really?

My thoughts haven't changed one bit.

He's very raw, needs time and coaching but looks to have potential.

I'm still not sure he's ready to lead the line as our main striker.

05 Jan 2026 05:18:24
Firstly let me start by saying i'm always prepared to give any new signing time and never will i boo a Rangers player ? Regarding Chermiti, hand on heart the more games i seen him you could see he had ability but i wasn't sure he could make it playing for Rangers in scottish football ?But he's been steadily improving and over the last 3 games against motherwell, st.

mirren and Celtic you can see he's getting his confidence back and his talent/quality is starting to show and long may it continue and we might have a really good striker on our hands ?But let's wait and see if Chermiti can now kick on and produce/continue these performances until the end of the season ?.

05 Jan 2026 05:41:52
Jasp you just named a couple of things he is very good at, Chermiti has talent and you don't play like he did the last couple of games without it, Stevie was more than us mate was a good few.

I think as I have always said that our players, all of them, need time to develop into a good team. I think and have thought (and said) for a while now there was improvement in his game and it is over the last 2 or 3 he has brought those patches together and played good games, now adding goals as well hopefully.
we also need to forget about his price tag, as difficult as that is, as he played no part in that so isn't at fault. I still think we can make some money on him if he continues to improve and develop. remember this is the first time he has started as a number 9 for any club until now.

re only 2 championing him I think the is both untrue and slightly embarrassing. I will say though that My Star has been the most outspoken about him due to number of games he has played. but as a positive supporter of the team I expect nothing else (keep it up).

1 swallow does not a summer make ( someone said)
Sunday was great, let's give the lad time, I personally think he has a LONG way to go.
( But a regular 2 v them, would be nice) ??.

05 Jan 2026 08:44:34
no idea, couldn't even tell you who his first game was against but I have seen plenty on here say to give him time, price tag isn't his fault, he's showed good glimpses, has good feet etc etc.

I would just assume by being reasonable that you weren't, as star says, the only two to stick up for him either but if you want it that bad you can have it. I think most will probably just be happy to see he might be turning it around.

05 Jan 2026 10:00:02
For the first few months of the season he's generally looked like bambi on ice, with the occasional glimmer thrown in.
Last few games he's starting to put himself about a bit more, bringing others into play.
Now he's seeing an opportunity and adding goals so there's work being done here.
He's a big boy learning how to use his attributes in a tough physical league.
I'm sure we all want him to do well.
Still think we need more character in the side if we're going to win the league, despite the comeback at the weekend.

We're still no taking games by the scruff of the neck, snuffing teams out etc.
The team that does that in the run in, will win the league.
Don't know how many of our players Yang ran past to score that goal on Saturday?
Title winning sides just don't let that sort of thing happen.
We need to be stronger, this turning up for 45 min a game caper widnae get it done in the past, it'll no get it done now either, so best get at it for the 90 mins, eh lads.
You'll get a guid rest when the games finished.

05 Jan 2026 10:56:20
The lad has ability, most fans have seen that from day one. For me what's been questionable is his desire, aggression and work rate during matches.

I want to see him, with a bit more fight to win the ball and hold the ball. He can link up well but I also see him getting out muscled by players half his size and it's just down to who wants it more.

Fingers crossed we are starting to see this from him now.

The other issue most fans have had is the cost. We've spent the best part of £10M on a prospect which is ok for some clubs but not for where we are atm. Not when we could have had Shankland on a free. I still can't get over the guy at Ferencvaros that tore us apart (Varga) cost £600K. Value for money has definitely come into it.

However, we are where we are and we need to play him now as our 9 and hope he flourishes. One thing is he hardly loses a header, therefore we really need the 10 (if we play one) or the inside forward (normally Moore) to get closer to him and run off him for flick ons and 2nd balls.

05 Jan 2026 12:26:26
The only two. well you didn't read my posts. I'm sure many were waiting for him to break his duck and perhaps kept their council. I told you so indeed!

05 Jan 2026 13:09:44
There were 2 major issues with Chermiti for me. The fee for a development player was too high and brought major risk in his signing. Since we paid less than 2 million for Hamza most have seen that it can be done for a lot less risk. Bringing in prospects from EPL sides is not what we should be doing as the transfer and wages are too high.

The second problem has been Miovski, he was the experienced pro who knows the league and was designed to hit the ground running. If he done that it would have given YC time to develop into our team.

For me both him and Dani have been bigger problems, I want Dani out now because he has had enough opportunities and proven he is not up for it. Miovski has till end of season to show more and if not he should follow him.

I know you love an ITYS post but for me the only ones writing him off were the fans who do that with every player. We get this every year and despite many players proving them wrong it's much easier than backing a player.

05 Jan 2026 20:34:26
Ehl your correct maye I would t have him as forst choice either but he's starting to look like he can play his part now.

Hed be a good back up while he develops more.

Apologies if that offended anyone that's just what I seen.

If we could get our money back I'd take it and reinvest in the squad at our usual price range I still think we paid too much for him.
