Regarding RM getting time.
We are budgeted for Europa league football. Therefore if Hibs and or Hearts start to pull away from us in the league (which looks very likely) . He WILL be sacked! No doubt.
The only way he will be given time by the owners is if he stays on budget i. e in 2nd place minimum.

Rangers have 32 points this calendar year from 28 games and think most on here would agree that we have went back the way and will continue to drop more.
Hibs have 33 points from 15 and continue to strengthen.
Hearts have 29 from 25 games and continue to strengthen.
In the same period we conceded 24 and Hibs and hearts concede 13 and 15 respectively.
I'm Sorry but there is plenty evidence there to suggest they will put up a very good fight for 2nd and at the moment there is t any evidence to suggest we're getting better.

Gray was actually the perfect for this scenario, I'm not saying Martin will be a success but he needs longer than what he's had.

Hibs will struggle if they are in Europe as well this season but I can see Hearts pushing for 2nd. McInnes knows what he's doing whether some like it or not.

Agreed but my point is more about what clubs budget for. Like any business when results are down and budgets are being met drastic action is often taken.
That's where I think RM will be at risk. As long as he stays enroute for Europa league football (in budget) he will be given time and it might work out in the long run.
But if there is any risk to that where others are in that position then changes will be made. No business (especially American ones I've worked for) risk not making budget.

My star i agree its to early to sack RM but if he loses against them now after our start to the league then questions need to be answered. Beale and Clement were givin time when they should have been chased out the door long before. Only my opinion but RM maybe only have next 5/ 6 games to safe his job and see massive improvement, let's be honest he's at the moment made us so much worse.

Calendar year isn't really relevant to me Zikos but agree with your point, when you scrape draws V Motherwell and dundee, that form isn't good enough for close to 2nd. We'll improve I'm sure but it's hard to see us improving enough under the current set up, we've not looked less like a Rangers team in a long time.

Hibs will change us for second, Hearts and Aberdeen will take points off us but can't see them genuinely challenge us. That's the scary thing, we've dropped 4 points and not even played the teams were challenging for second place.

Never think anyone will actually split the old firm but those are surprising stats zikos. One of the things that get me is I and others have regularly asked for anything positive about him, and all that ever comes back is give it time, we can't keep sacking managers never actually anything about him.

To many getting focused on arguing about Aberdeen and hearts etc won't split the old firm
They only thing we should be worrying about is why we're so far behind Celtic so early on and worry about us this points difference going to increase if so it's. not good enough really is it

This conversation happens on here and with Rangers fans every season and it never happens. I reckon we will continue to have these conversations every season unless we do something to break that. that something isn't chase the manager away every time we start badly with half a new team and style of play. I don't really care if it is Martin or not but he is here so it would make sense. but if we don't allow the team to build over a sustainable period.
what I do know is that if the fans don't support then it becomes more difficult and the players go into their shell. the coaches and players are supposedly questioning it; that might be normal but I want them to be all in on this and do their job; that is what they are paid for, i. e. to do what the head coach and owners tell them. fans see that as good as they don't like Martin but it isnt; if the next coach comes in and they disagree we all know what happens then as this is now a running series.
yes we are playing poorly and we aren't winning every match which is expected obviously but this will take longer if we don't all get behind it as difficult as that is.

We need the right coach / manager to be appointed to then give him time, no point wasting time with a guy out his depth.
I'd be relaxed if we are playing well and just need get the breaks, there appears nothing to 'click' if our tactics are to pass the ball back.

I think most fans would be more open to the idea of getting behind RM if there was clear signs of progression. Unfortunately there are clear signs of regression and incompetence which has made it very difficult for the fans to get behind. RM seemed to have changed his tactical approach against Plzen at Ibrox which to be honest got the fans back on board but then lost the fans again when he reverted back to the boring tactics we all hate. I think for his own sake he has to swallow his pride and change course, his current tactics restrict the strengths of our key players namely Raskin, Gassama and Antman. My personal opinion is that his stubborness to see past his own philosophy will be his downfall.

Stig my point was around board level expectation. I imagine their expectation is to finish at a minimum 2nd and have budgeted for at least Europa league.
My point is not around accepting 2nd. No one one here accepts 2nd. However the board may be looking at the project longer term, edging closer this year before overtaking the next or the one after.
My point though was that RM in my view I will be at Risk, not because of how good Celtic are doing but more Hibs and Hearts. And if they are pushing and leading the race for 2nd then the trigger will be pulled.
Genuinely think though if he is maintaining 2nd comfortably then he will be given the full season.

He didn't change his tactical approach at Ibrox. that was how he wants the team to play. the difference was that the players who are supposedly confused were able to play it without any problems. they started quickly, it worked so they got confidence from it. then back to humdrum of SPL and it didn't work as quickly so they stop trying difficult riskier passes.

Well actually storm the difference between 2nd and 3rd isn't CL to EL as we are due to lose that this season so 2nd doesn't even get CL and 1st goes into earlier qualifiers (CL) than the play off rounds because we have been the only team carry our coefficients for years now.
So our domestic form is even more important than prior years.

If we are struggling to make second place he SHOULD be sacked and in fact any manager of Rangers struggling to make second in this league should be sacked.
