Well I have had a look back on yesterday's match and it is clear to me that the set up used by Martin is an overcomplicated version of the system Freyr uses with Brann.
We are playing almost a mirror of what it should be.
Personally i would simply by putting players on their strongest side.

CB Soutar (needs replacing)

LB Jefte (replacement needed)
CDM Raskin/ Rothwell
RCM Aasgaard/ Cameron
LCM Diomande/ Curtis
RW Antman/ New RW

CF Turgeman/ New CFs
No current CFs should be at the club by the end of the season.

Asa, in my humble opinion the 11 players we put out on the pitch yesterday should have been good enough to beat Motherwell.
The failing was in system and shape we deployed, which I can understand some fans justifying as it's early days.
However, what isn't justifiable is the fact that throughout the game Motherwell adapted and done so in a manner that exploited our weaknesses - and our coaching team done nothing to react or address it.
Furthermore more, for the head coach to come out yet again and blame an undefined group of players does nothing but crank the alarm bells up a notch or two.

EHL I cannot disagree with anything you have said in all honesty.
As I said I did not believe he was a good fit due to being married to a system and he has so far given me no reason to believe he can adapt and alter mid game.

I agree Asa. We need 4 new players in. Antman, Striker, RW and CH. even then, I'd still go one in and one out.
We really need some departures too. Matondo, Davies,
Dowell, Cortes, Danilo, Igamane, Dessers. Won't all happen.
King, it wasn't a pointless post. Asa has some insight and has shared it. Have a little respect if you want it in return, as you should expect. A poor response.

I agreed entirely with all your departures Ibrox4me. Over the next 2 windows they all need to leave and be replaced.
Tjark Ernst to replace Jack Butland would be my dream signing.

Some of the players aren't and are still not good enough and we saw the same errors creep in yesterday, dispossessed, bad passing, lack of urgency, not marking correctly, let's keep saying it's the system.
We need new players in that are better and also more adaptable to the system, the manager has to be allowed that first, we were all saying it before a ball was kicked so what's changed, we aren't overnight going to start winning things with some of the same players from the past.

Guys it makes for worrying reading when some of you think he may not adapt his tactics and shape etc to suit the players and the teams we play against
infact it's very worrying and we're a game into a new season.
this is going to sound silly but I'll say it anyway I reckon Barry or even a Derek Mc would have ground out a result yesterday working with the squad we have
We have a big squad with plenty of options I don't see a need for it to be complicated
Set up an attacking team and go out and run over them.

All agreed changes need to be made, both in terms of players and attitudes. coupled with that does appear to show players not only being in an uncomfortable set up (not getting the required style), but also being played in positions they are uncomfortable with like Aarons and Dowell… both playing where asked, though I doubt for example Aarons expected to be a LB when signing.
Overriding does seem to be our inability to move players on. So signing Antman, Turgeman and new LB must be balanced with outgoings and we simply have to find a way to make that happen.

100% EHL, he has to take some of the blame here, he sees players can't (or won't) play his system so he has to recognise that and adapt to play to the strengths of players, we can't have him being so arrogant to be thinking it's his way and that's it.

Raskin doesn't have the passing ability or the composure to play the '6' position in this team.

Asa, I never said don't post. i clearly said your post was pointless as you have players in the starting 11 you should be playing in their correct position who aren't even at our club. So I again stand by my previous post as it is absolutely pointless.
