I'll back RM was not my first choice but trust the process. Reading the Southampton and Swansea fan forums does worry me slightly. Most say pigheaded, stubborn in his approach - never pragmatic and always his way play always from the back high press.
think it will be great when his football works but could be a disaster at times - always says blame me not players and many refer to him as a clown that talks a good game but ultimately is a poor manager. They say he got lucky getting Southampton up and at points and they were worried it would be worst points haul in history in premier league.
Our league is much easier of course and hoping it all works out but RM getting ahead of Celtic and doing well in Europe does concern me slightly. Apologies for the negativity but I just wanted to post what I've been reading all morning ??????.

If you're backing him then why go out your way to find as much negative stuff as possible from fans forums and then post them on here? I think you're telling fibs about backing him and you are not backing him at all.

Aye. You find those on the can stacking aisles can run Tesco better than business managers. Martin will do just fine I think. If he's got the players that can carry out his game plan.

He got sacked after 16 games in the prem. i think so not even half a season obviously very poor results though. Think his football will work well for us, but we do need new players to carry the game plan out.

Just needs to win his first game of the season and take it from there. Not too bothered about Europe this year. i know its the money maker but I just want domestic dominance back, Europe will take care of itself.

Ive been thinking a bit more on RM. In the last year teams have bullied us in the SPL home and away. That should never happen. We should never bow to any team in the SPL so RM might be a good fit. Hopefully gone are the days where teams don't fear coming to Ibrox. It may be a differnt game in Europe though against better teams, so let's see. Winning the leage is no1 priority so it might work. If we have better fitter harder running players with a stratejy we should win most of our games in the SPL. I think we will suprise some teams.

Martin will have learned things on his road, think some will be surprised at the football we play, been watching a fair bit of his teams highlights, really believe the others league teams we have problems with in our league will not be with his setup for breaking they teams down.

Totally agree EHL, it's amazing how many times the nay sayers feel the need to repeat themselves or, as you say, will queue up with the "I told you so" comments. These pages are becoming more and more repetitive by the day and you wonder how many posters can't wait to see RM fail.

Haven't commented on RM yet, prefer to wait n see how things go first tbh. There could be changes n tweaks to certain players capabilities in line with how he wants them to play, some may go though as EHL alluded to in being unable to meet required demands. Time will tell.

Jeez was not expecting that ? I do back him was just reading his latest adventures from those forums of the teams he managed and it didn't make good reading - yes ange did well here but he was already a serial winner so not sure comparison there but hopefully RM pulls it out the bag and we get to see plenty of Lucy Pinder along the way btw 3 cheers wasn't hard to find the negative stuff it was mainly all negative looking forward to your next wonder post though ?.

TBF there's equally a lot of comments calling into question those of us who are not convinced by RM.
We're allowed our opinions without questioning how much we support our club.
Gerrard would have created the same reaction. In fact there was no unifying candidate.
The position remains the same RM will be judged by recruitment / style of play and ultimately results- same as any manager.
We all want him to succeed just some of us need a bit more convincing.
Let's move on from RM debate and fallout about signing Shankland instead :-)
