Makes you wonder about recruitment team and how desperate we're getting. Surely if he was a top target we would have snapped him up weeks ago. No doubting he's an amazing player and proven in SPL, but he's 29 and on big wages plus 8mil fee with little resell. We would be better going after Romaine Esse from Palace.

£2m a year in Turkey at 20% tax is the equivalent of £3.2m a year here, so even £30k a week is a 50% wage cut, can't see him going for that. Much as loved him as a player.

The DR actually says we want Cerny, but we don't want to pay £8m for a 29 year old and we don't want to pay for his 2m per annum wages. So, in effect, we, as it stands, do not want him unless there is a dramatic drop in wages and price.
Or it's a loan, I guess, but then what's the loan fee and % of wages paid? I'd say move on to other targets at those costs.

So 20% is the basic tax rate in Turkey, which everyone is charged at. However, footballers and other high earners are required to put in income returns, and if they earn above £80k per annum the rate is 40%. So not as huge a drop then.
