Ferguson not signing
Caught up with my friend today, I posted about 6 weeks ago we were very much interested in Ferguson.
Ferguson is keen to come to Rangers one day but not just yet. Bologna see him part of this season plans but were also willing for him to leave if replacement could be found.
Rangers could afford the wages and transfer if other pieces of the puzzle had moved along but Ferguson being home recently feels that he is enjoying life in Italy.
I was informed he wanted to move back home, but this was fake news. You never know in this crazy world of football.
I know this will be a blow to a few on here but this is why Rangers have stepped up the situation with VD & Dahl
I know this won't be my most popular post but I promised to keep you informed. WATP

Is there any update on JHD or is it just what we know in that we're putting in a second bid?
19 Jul 2026 17:11:00
Not overly bothered about this.
19 Jul 2026 17:14:25
Isn't Ferguson still in Scotland? WATP, unless he's flown out today, because he was yesterday. But I'm extremely happy with Dragojevic and Dahl though, both only 20 years old, I think. Dragojevic, his side's captain, and I think Dahl must be the vice captain. He was captain for a period yesterday, I'm sure someone posted on here.

I have actually completely changed my mind on Fergusson.
I think now Dahl and the Serbian lad are much better business for the club.
19 Jul 2026 17:20:02
Cheers for the info, mate. Hopefully we get Dahl over the line.
19 Jul 2026 17:21:51
Think it was pretty obvious from the start he wasn't signing.
Anyone that actually listened to Derek or Barry would have realised that.
Think a cert to come back when he's older or if he needs a loan season.
19 Jul 2026 17:24:53
Hopefully, Ferguson sings in the future. He has an option of Balonga till 2029, so either a free agent then or maybe a year or two after could be like the Steven Davis singing of the future.
19 Jul 2026 17:25:20
I've seen Lewis has been in Florida since at least Thursday, lads, going by his online posts.
19 Jul 2026 17:31:09
Hope he is a good singer.
19 Jul 2026 17:33:38
As soon as the Dahl links became concrete, I knew we had been informed he wasn't coming.
19 Jul 2026 17:34:53
Stevie, I said on the debates page yesterday. He was in a park in Clyde Valley on Thursday. I thought it was a zoo but had animals seen in the background. A friend sent a picture with his brother's laddie getting a photo with him, and he was in Larkhall yesterday, mate.
Could be sticking them on from past.

Transfermarkt has Ferguson contract to end June 2028.
Would suggest (maybe?) that 49s policy is to sell 2 years to go, buy 1 year to go.
Ie, maximum Raskin this summer. Cheaper than Ferguson, cheaper next summer.
Works well for both, if he (and family) are happy in Bologna for another year.
19 Jul 2026 17:58:17
I think most will be happy with Dahl, Dragojevic, Neil and Devlin as signings. There is just a little more pressure on them than there would have been had we signed a known quantity in Ferguson.
19 Jul 2026 18:00:00
Not really surprised or fussed, to be honest.
Especially, as it has gone very, very quiet on that subject in the past week.
Will be interested to see if we really mean business by signing the 2, 20 year olds???
19 Jul 2026 18:07:53
As some know, my daughter and Lewis's partner are best friends, and I've kept very quiet on the matter. My understanding is Lewis isn't coming here just yet. He's back from Florida after his break, but they're settled over in Italy. I posted before regarding their house near me, and it's definitely a future home for him and family to reside in.
The plan is to come to Rangers in the future, whether that's near future or a year or two is anyone's guess. As I've said previously, I don't pry or ask those kinda questions.
19 Jul 2026 18:17:58
Why would we be spending that amount on Lewis Ferguson? A lad we could have had for next to nothing (when he apparently wasn't good enough). Fair play to him. He's moved abroad and shown his talent. Wish him well.
19 Jul 2026 18:40:55
I think the business for Vd and Dahl is better than a deal for Ferguson at this moment in time. Although I can see and would happily welcome him in the future. 100% a Rangers captain soon enough.
19 Jul 2026 18:45:59
Gms, I spoke to Lewis and partner at the time (roughly five years ago) and I asked him tongue in cheek when he was coming, and by Lewis's own admission he said he wasn't good enough at that time. Now he's gone and done the right thing by moving overseas, which I also think a few of our Scottish younger lads should do, as not only would it benefit them but it will also benefit the National team. As much as I'd like Lewis to play for our great club, I've also seen it from the players' side and the way of life he, his partner and kids have over in Italy.
For example, when he played for them up the road, and even though he was their captain, he was constantly getting his property damaged or him and his partner abused on the street by so called Aberdeen fans, so I personally think if he's creating a better life for family fair play to the young lad.

Slim Jim, take a bow.
19 Jul 2026 19:14:47
Blackwoodbear, thanks for the information.
You and I have briefly spoken on here before, as we are from the same neck of the woods.
My friend got the information closer to home about Lewis being happy in Italy. Lewis has a fantastic bond with family and friends who go out to Italy to spend time with the couple.
As for Rangers, all they did was make an enquiry.
Nothing serious, my friend said Bologna see him as a big part of his plans, but there was wiggle room as I stated before.
My concern is we are going to hear this every window now. I hope the boy does well over there, and if there is a time right for Rangers, then one day he will come.
19 Jul 2026 19:19:57
Fair play to him for taking the chance of going to Italy and evolving into a far more rounded player. He's grasped the opportunity and hopefully set a bit of an example for other youngsters to follow. The culture in this country has always been a bit much for a lot of our young players and, sadly, they fall away.
Hopefully his story can inspire a few more young lads to go for it.
Also, absolute no trainer for his young family.
Hoped he would sign, but the money involved at the moment, in my opinion, would be more prudent to be spent on multiple positions, as we all know there's a few positions we need to fill with quality additions.
His new house is an absolute beauty. Still can't believe he's moving here. Need to keep stopping the doggo from p**hing on his fence. 🤣

WATP, yeah my friend, we've spoken before and I think it'll be nature of the beast every window Lewis will pop up. We will see pics pop up when he's over visiting family and that'll be him over to sign haha.
I'd love him to come but he's got a mature head on his shoulders and you and I both know his family will always come first.
19 Jul 2026 21:41:22
Beale, I believe u then mate. 💯
Ur a genuine guy as far as I'm concerned, mate.
What I'd say is he must be putting Disneyworld pics up to look like he's not in Scotland.
I do remember 4lads on here saying earlier in the week "our next captain's home".
I'd have thought he'd be in Italy training, as World Cup for him finished more than 3 weeks ago.
Strange indeed.
20 Jul 2026 00:25:26
He was in Scotland last week or this week as he was at my desert place with his dad in Holytown.
20 Jul 2026 10:20:26
Oh wait, Ferguson is in Scotland, wow he must be signing eh!
Not to mention his family live here, and he is currently on holiday after the World Cup. Imagine a player going home for the holidays, eh, terrible.
Sorry but people really need to think about these rumours more before going mental.
20 Jul 2026 10:46:06
Forever, you just never get it with anything, mate, someone said after being in Scotland, then was pointed out he was still in Scotland, you think this means he's signing for Rangers, deary dear, but Rangers were interested in him, believe it or don't believe it.
