Anyone ITK hearing much about Aasgaard to Atalanta? Heard snippets, but nothing reliable at this stage.
29 Jun 2026 17:56:08
The source linked in BBC rumours was a guy on X with a couple of hundred followers with no large track history. Doesn't mean he's wrong. ??♂️
29 Jun 2026 18:07:03
Amo being rumoured, also told we r saying 6 million euros.
29 Jun 2026 18:11:18
I'd be happy with that deal, John. I'd ask for euro2m in add ins though and 10%.
29 Jun 2026 18:16:54
I'm probably in the camp of, let's see him in a better structured side where he hasn't been put in it to be the main man, like he was last year. We thought Messi was about to enter the 11 the way Aasgaard was hyped up in training, etc. He's got ability, just needs the rest of game worked on without too much pressure.
29 Jun 2026 18:26:05
You would be happy with 5m quid for a player scoring at World Cup for Norway, Stevie? Come on, mate, we could and should get a lot more than that. Didn't have the best season, but so much more potential.
If it's any less than 10m, keep him and see if he improves. We are just about to get 3m for Butland, who's a 30+ goaly with a year left lol.
29 Jun 2026 18:26:38
If John is correct and we can get 6 million for him after the season he had, I'd be ripping the hand off him. Talented in spurts, I think he goes MIA, and 1 thing about McInnes teams is they all graft. He's not a grafter, mate.
29 Jun 2026 18:28:51
I agree, Coully.
Could turn 6m into 3 x that if he has a great season. That boy Kuhn is a good example at Celtic, everyone wanted gone. We need a squad.
29 Jun 2026 18:33:13
Wishybear, does that mean just for Motherwell worth 10 million with his 3 goals?
29 Jun 2026 19:09:34
Motherwell are entitled to ask for however much they want for him.
We paid 3.5m for Aasgaard. They paid less than a couple hundred thousand. So not really comparable, is it? How much each team demands for their players. If a middling Premier League team player scores a couple, do they ask for more than us when they go to sell him?
There's a food chain in football.
Listen, Peter, if you're happy to accept 1.5m euros profit on a player scoring at World Cup, be my guest. I'd suspect the club won't be.
29 Jun 2026 19:15:49
I think he's a game changer on his day. Young guy too. At £6m I'd keep him. We can't keep changing the whole team every year. I think he could go to become a very decent player for us and certainly worth a lot more than £6m given his English links.
29 Jun 2026 19:40:23
We always sell our players too cheap. Sorry, what did you say there, 6M euros? Yes, we will take that and snap your hand off. So which is it, we either look for best prices for everyone, or we just sell when we get a half decent offer.
It can't be both. He is a Norwegian international playing at WC, so he should be worth more than that, if Raskin is worth £20-25m, surely.
29 Jun 2026 19:44:36
Sell. He scored for us in games, but still doesn't mean that he is what we needed either.
29 Jun 2026 19:46:11
Angus, as a fanbase, we are at either end of the extreme spectrum. Some want to sell players for a pittance cause they don't like them, and some want record fees for players with a good few months.
We just need to hope that the people running us now stop underselling our players, and if we are getting 3m for a mid 30s goaly with a year left on his contract, that's a very good sign.
29 Jun 2026 20:05:59
Did we not pay something like 3m for him, selling him for 6m with a probable sell on from his old club isn't great business. I'd be happy to keep him and have McInnes develop him and get double that next year!
29 Jun 2026 20:33:51
I love how fans think about the World Cup goal he scored. He cost Norway 2 goals with his lack of work rate. I'd take 6 million in a heartbeat.
29 Jun 2026 20:32:53
Agree, Wishy, 100%, and I get that, but some obviously don't have the ability to realise they argue that we sell too cheaply whilst asking for someone to be sold cheaply. ? Scary really.
29 Jun 2026 20:47:27
Aasgaard has been told he is free to talk to other clubs.
Decisions have been made in the last week or so.
29 Jun 2026 21:03:16
Okay Better days, I'll bite, so describe the two goals he cost Norway. A bit of detail as well, please. ?
29 Jun 2026 21:19:05
Remember 6 million euros is a lot less than £6 million. We should wait and see if his goal gets him more starts for Norway at the WC. He looked good against France, although he still wasn't working hard enough.
He might impress foreign teams who don't expect that from him. It's a pity that we can't get more out of him because he is very talented.
29 Jun 2026 21:30:12
As a fanbase, I just love how some people say that to give it more gravitas.
29 Jun 2026 21:41:27
Betterdaysahead, he cost Norway 2 goals? I think you'll find it was the LB who cost them all 3, hence why he was subbed off at half time, plus it was a Ballon d'Or winner, Dembele, in case some forgot. He was Norway's best player that game & should have had an assist for Bobb.
Can't keep throwing players away cause they didn't do it in the first, some players need time to adjust & settle, whilst others hit the ground running.
He was much better under Rohl, if played in or around the box, then he'll get goals & assists, played too deep at times for us. We need more than work rate & grafting, that's fine for fighting relegation & trying to survive.
29 Jun 2026 21:44:36
Aasgaard isn't a player who is giving us 10k+ each game, hoping he can kick on this season coming, EUR6m is pennies in transfer fees now, especially for one showing it against France.
29 Jun 2026 21:16:22
Id be happy with that too 6m for Aasgaard
John can i ask you seemed to be adamant that Raskin had a 10-12 million release clause ao wonder how Rangers have suppossed to have turned down the bid from hull or has the bid not actually been made?
29 Jun 2026 22:01:52
He frustrated out of me last season at times, but he clearly has talents, so if he can work on some of his weaknesses he could be a really good player. I wouldn't be rushing to move him on as I think he will improve next season.
Depends if he is happy and settled here, though.
If he fancies a move then it's better he goes but I'd be asking for around £8m. For comparison, Kieron Bowie is same age, went Verona for £7m and now they want £9m, and I'd argue Aasgaard is a better player with more experience and international caps.
29 Jun 2026 23:00:31
Tbf I'd like to keep him and see what Del can do with him, there's obviously a player in there.
29 Jun 2026 23:14:37
I'd be over the moon with EUR6m for him. Wishy, he's not cut out for Scottish football and another season here, we'll be lucky to get him off the wage bill, mate.
EUR6m to in add-ons ue European football and 10 more caps and a 10% sell on fee.
Could end up with EUR9-10m, that's good for any guys who couldn't kick his own Arsenal most of the time.
30 Jun 2026 06:57:32
Don't agree Stevie got 13g/a in his first year as a bit part player. He can clearly improve.
30 Jun 2026 09:46:10
The club will have a value, and if it's met, he will be away. Just because he plays in World Cup doesn't add millions upon millions on his price tag.
