Italian teams have a kind of friendship thing in which they pretend to bid for each other's players in order to drive the price up for clubs outwith Serbia A.
I'd imagine that's what's going on here due to us quoting them EUR20m for Raskin and wanting Lewis for less.

Stevie Raskin flatters to deceive, yes, but Ferguson isn't as great as people make, & not worth the money we'd need to pay, & I'm including swapping. If we get 20 million or whatever for Raskin, I'd take full payment & buy 2 or 3 players. Ferguson is so good, why are Bologna replacing him with Raskin & hold interest in Barron?

Pattern recognition of players leaving Serie A normally comes with other clubs in the league bidding for the player to drive the price up.
