Godfrey confirmed by Sky Italy - DiMarzio
27 Jun 2026 22:28:54
Will we ever learn our lesson with these kind of players?
27 Jun 2026 22:33:28
Bit of a journeyman.
27 Jun 2026 22:37:27
He's very experienced Prem wise, but yeah we are playing the old 'if we can just get and keep him fit, he would be a great signing' card here for sure.
27 Jun 2026 22:37:41
Confirmed by Chris Jack now also.
27 Jun 2026 22:39:41
Don't be so miserable, guys, put your big boy pants on. ???⚪️?
27 Jun 2026 22:49:32
I remember when we used to give players 15 minutes before judging them. Now, it's before they've even got the scarf above their head. Get behind the guy if he signs.
27 Jun 2026 22:51:19
At least it's a loan with an option. Not a name I'd seen anywhere mentioned as a potential target.
Think we will still sign another 2 minimum CB after Godfrey. I think Fernandes will be sold.
27 Jun 2026 22:56:01
The pessimistic brigade are out in force tonight. I'm sure the recruitment team know what they are doing. Have a bit of Faith!
27 Jun 2026 23:02:18
Would probably suggest we'll go all in for a left sided centre half.
27 Jun 2026 23:02:42
Correct Blue89, ? If McInnes chooses to sign Godfrey, that's it, he's the manager and get behind it for God's sake. ? Because other type of signings like this have failed, doesn't mean every one will. ?
27 Jun 2026 23:05:00
Honestly, haven't watched anything of him, but barely played throughout his career and we'd be his 4 loan since moving to Atalanta. Doesn't exactly fill u with a lot of confidence.
27 Jun 2026 23:05:20
The lad could work out to be a fantastic signing for us, especially if the boy wants to reignite his career. Good luck to him and welcome to The Famous. ??????
27 Jun 2026 23:15:15
He played a dozen games for Brondby this year, and they wanted to keep him, so might be a great signing if he can stay injury free.
27 Jun 2026 23:24:55
Let's just hope he is a better fit than our last signing from Atalanta, who also liked a loan or two or three, the legendary Sam Lammers. Hopefully he does well, but it's not screaming "no brainer" to me, and maybe that's not a bad thing, as the ones usually all do end up being total Craig Whyte.
This is a bit left field from what I expected. Don't tell me we scouted Denmark and Godfrey caught the eye. Hope Atalanta are sponsoring his wages a bit. Can't shake my gut feeling of this one, I'm afraid.
27 Jun 2026 23:31:44
He has missed 30 games through injury, I thought it was more.
27 Jun 2026 23:35:23
Mind, Goldson had hardly kicked a ball before coming to us, then he never missed a game. Unless you've got a crystal ball, then nobody knows how robust he'll be until he's been here.
27 Jun 2026 23:36:37
Ben Godfrey, £5 mill? Certainly get better payers for that sort of cash, and if he does sign, how long before he gets injured. Signings so far have been disappointing, to say the least.
27 Jun 2026 23:41:07
He isn't injury probe, William. Why do people just assume things?
27 Jun 2026 23:42:08
He's played over 100 games for Everton.
27 Jun 2026 23:46:38
William how is shankland a disappointing signing? I despair with fans like you.
If the exact same player with the exact same stats was Dutch and played in our league you'd likely be creaming yourself at signing him.
28 Jun 2026 06:14:13
I hope none of our targets come on here for a wee bit of research. ?
28 Jun 2026 13:06:31
Wishybear. No I don't cream myself over a foreign signing, but you obviously do over Rangers signing a 30 year old forward, and a couple of English Championship standard players. You better get some wipes if Devlin signs
28 Jun 2026 13:30:34
My Star, he played 82 games over 4 years at Everton. That suggests that either he wasn't picked or he had a few injury problems. In the last two years he's played 21 games for 4 different clubs, which included 3 loans. Something is clearly not right with him, and while the club should know best, we have a right to be concerned.
28 Jun 2026 14:00:01
Wslgers, had a couple of good seasons at Everton, got injured and never got back in the team, praised by an elite manager at Everton, yes, you're right about his games for Everton, but played well over a hundred games in the EPL, and never being ruled out that many games with injury, 30 games his full career.
