Rangers have had an offer for Andrew Tod rejected, we will go back in.

Good young player, John! I'm not from Dunfermline, but I've lived here now for the past 10 or so yrs. There's been a proper buzz about him and his brother for a few years now. Definitely one for the future. ?

Is that the Dunfermline boy that wears the glasses ?, John?
30 May 2026 10:24:01
Fork, yes it is, and he is a very talented young player from what I have heard. If we sign him, we will look to loan him back out for a season to get some more first-team experience.
30 May 2026 10:25:47
Can't say I'm a fan of him. Loan him straight back to Dunfermline. He's nowhere near good enough for our first team currently in my opinion.
30 May 2026 10:30:26
Yes Fork.
Not seen much of him.
Watched him play against them in the final.
But that's all I've seen of him really.
John, I know from yourself posting on here, we have been watching him for quite a while now.

Good young player, been training with the senior Scotland team the last few days.
30 May 2026 10:36:23
Think he was just called up to join the training sessions for Scotland's pre-World Cup camp to make up numbers. Some good experience for the young lad that as well.
30 May 2026 10:55:46
If we sign him, and when he's loaned out it wouldn't be back at Dunfermline, team in our league, I'd go for Kilmarnock. He's good enough right now. Younger brother is also a good young player, spoken about more highly from what I've heard.

Cheers guys. ?

Davie, let's not buy young players early and develop them.
Excellent young player who is attracting a great deal of interest.
My star, both kids have an excellent future. I'm told we hope to lend a couple of players to Beale and Charia.

I could probably list 20+ young players we've attempted to sign with a view to leaving them with their club to develop - however, within Scottish football there is a weird anti-Old Firm culture that prevents it.
I've posted a few times about the club looking to build relationships with clubs in Italy and Germany with a view to loaning our 19+'s to play in their academies.
30 May 2026 11:17:06
With we sign him loan him to Killie for a season did wonders for Curtis. Playing weekly at the higher level will progress him well.

Ehl, I think we should give these clubs motivation to do it, like sell-on clauses, so say an extra 5 percent. If they go back to their club and develop, they would need to be sold in x amount of years. It would make it worth their while.
Why would they want to develop our players for nothing? These teams are on a shoestring budget. Say we eventually sold a player for 5 million, they would get 250k, that's massive to some of these clubs.

Would like to see our players get loans in Europe. I'm no youth expert, but if you have a final loan move before first team football, I feel like it has to be top flight SPL or a good level in Europe.
30 May 2026 11:32:43
I know a Dunfermline player and he speaks very highly of these 2 kids. Both have big futures and I'd buy and loan to an SPL or possibly to a former coach's side.
30 May 2026 11:25:03
Davie, is the reason young players never make it at Rangers and other fans with that mentality.
30 May 2026 12:09:39
Agree, Storm. Sick to death of it, and glad it's getting called out now.
30 May 2026 12:50:09
Just look at our youth record, enough said. I've watched Todd live on a good few occasions. I heard the hype, so kept an eye for him, and games bypassed him, in truth. Not saying he won't progress, but what I said is he's currently nowhere near good enough for our first team currently.
Not saying don't buy him, but if we do, best thing is to loan him out.
30 May 2026 14:17:11
U have watched him that often u can't spell the players name
Who on here has said he is being signed for first team
30 May 2026 16:25:00
Signing promising young Scottish talent is only a positive thing.
See if the lad doesn't make it at us so what. At least we and he tried. Get behind the boy.
