Seen this any truth in it?
The fact that the Rangers players have organised a send off for Tav today at Auchenhowie, and have told Danny Rohl to stay away, confirms he has lost the current squad.
The second fact is that two thirds of the current squad won't be there next season, I heard that around 19 players will be released or returned to their own clubs in the coming weeks.
So it's another re-build, but the biggest question is, who leads it.
As i said i only seen this and copied it
17 May 2026 12:21:02
Don't be surprised if that's more nonsense, Gilly.
17 May 2026 12:24:46
I suppose it depends on how many of the players who don't get on with Rohl are actually going to be there next season. If the majority stay, then I feel it might be curtains for Rohl, because we need the players winning.
If the majority leave, and he brings in his own players, then he's more likely to stay. All will be revealed in a month when they come back for preseason, I reckon.
17 May 2026 12:25:54
It's going around, but unless they're there, no1 will know for sure.
17 May 2026 12:27:32
When did players get authority to tell managers to stay away from any part of club premises?
If any truth in this, it just shows the mentality of our players, & it's a bit like Gassama yesterday with his goal celebration.
Maybe if he had contributed more, the whole situation would not have happened.
If they want to have their send-off, do it somewhere else without involving the club.
17 May 2026 12:29:27
Interesting that Gassama done the Tav celebration yesterday. Thought that was a strange one in front of Rohl. I think there's a group of players that don't respect him fully.
17 May 2026 12:38:47
Media and Fan media have all been told that Rohl is here for next season. So that ends all discussion.
17 May 2026 12:58:42
Gassama's celebration was a tribute to his captain. It has nothing to do with how he might feel about Rohl. Whether we like Tav or not, it's obvious that a lot of the players do like him, and feel that he has helped them during their time at Rangers.
If Tav has fallen out with Rohl, it's obvious that he wouldn't want him there at any send off.
When I retired I was granted a retirement do on site by my employers, and although the tradition was for your boss to attend these things, I told mine not to come because I didn't like him. It has nothing to do with the mentality of the players, it just stops an unnecessary bad atmosphere at what should be a happy occasion.
17 May 2026 13:02:57
Can someone explain, apart from the good run we went on when Rohl came in?
What do fans see in Rohl that gives them confidence?
We finished with 4 defeats out of 5.
17 May 2026 13:05:17
One of the shining lights from the season that has just ended is that Tav won't be here next season. ?
17 May 2026 13:07:11
Agreed 4ever.
17 May 2026 13:13:51
Well, if he's lost the dressing room and 2/3 of it's leaving it's not really that big of an issue is it. ?
17 May 2026 13:09:24
I loathe "player power".
I long for the days when an authoritarian would crush the upstarts under his heel.
17 May 2026 13:32:54
I remember Gassama lifting the back of his hand and mumbling on the bench after Stevie Smith subbed him off.
I wouldn't be so certain Gassama's celebration was nothing more than "a tribute to his captain".
I suspect he's an upstart.
17 May 2026 13:35:43
If players are dictating to a manager what he can and can't attend, then therein lies a major part of our problems. As I've said before, we must be the only club where 4 managers have lost the dressing room - perhaps it's never been the managers and the players down tools as soon as something happens they don't like.
17 May 2026 14:07:53
As another poster has said, I've also been told Rohl has already flown back to Germany to spend time with his family. As far as club captain goes, if Raskin does indeed leave then surely Connor Barron should be in with a shout.
Missed him massively when injured, gives his all and has an infectious energy that would rub off on his team-mates. Barron for club captain. ?
17 May 2026 14:13:07
Rwn, I'm thinking captains and leaders for other clubs will be signed this window.
17 May 2026 14:47:51
Filter, Danny Rohl is over in Germany spending time with his young family mate.
17 May 2026 15:15:24
My star, hopefully! Can't have too many leaders on the pitch. Something we've been lacking recently.
17 May 2026 15:21:48
Rumour is Tavs making the dinner and serving it, then the dishes after. So he can do every task one more time.
17 May 2026 15:29:29
If our manager has lost the dressing room then I'm glad it's this particular dressing room. A fair amount of them need to be moved on.
17 May 2026 15:31:13
I really like Barron's effort on the pitch, but that's not enough to be captain at Rangers, the captain has to have a 'leading level' of quality to go with it - I'd argue we don't have anyone in the squad who ticks the boxes of effort, presence & quality - hence the void.
I can see the logic in a Barron or a Souttar, but we need to be aiming higher in terms of both presence and ability, for me to see a step change in outcome, so I expect that to come in over the summer.
17 May 2026 15:33:28
No surprise we stick with DR. Will we make any correct decisions?
17 May 2026 17:55:46
Barron as captain what is going on so because someone with 100% effort gets to be captain now. ?♂️
17 May 2026 18:19:17
Get McLean in as captain. Put Barron as vice captain with a view for taking it on the season after.
17 May 2026 19:09:09
People on here complained that Tavernier was a problem. That the leadership group needed to be removed. Now these players have decided to leave, the attitude has switched to 'the players don't like the manager, sack the manager!'.
I can't keep up with it.
17 May 2026 19:14:19
RWN1978- Rommens has all the qualities to be a future captain of Rangers, depending on who remains at Ibrox.
17 May 2026 19:53:05
If Barron is seen as starter and takes the captain's armband next season, I will be signing up to the flat earth society.
17 May 2026 21:18:31
Copland3, good shout, mate. Good to see someone give their opinion instead of just rubbishing others' opinions without contributing their own.
17 May 2026 21:36:39
Agree about Rommens having captain qualities.
17 May 2026 21:59:36
Rommens captained the under 21 side he played for, Genk, I think it was. He was speaking about it in his interview.
