Danny Rohl left Tavernier out of the squad tonight. Tavernier went mental and there was an argument with Rohl in the dressing room. Tavernier was sent home.

This is crazy. Why on Earth would Tavernier be left out on a night that was all about his send off? He's on the matchday program, and talks all about his career.

Really strange stuff, and at a bizarre time of the season. It seems we'll never see Tavernier again.

13 May 2026 19:50:32
Sent home? Or left? David Edgar said the Tavernier walked out.

13 May 2026 19:51:26
Spit the dummy out because he isn't starting. Also, differing reports state that he walked out, so who knows until Rohl is asked in the presser.

The night wasn't all about Tav either. It's about Rangers!

13 May 2026 19:56:03
Not a good look. Laughing stock of a club atm!

13 May 2026 19:57:07
He was told he was on the bench. Presentation was being made before the match by John Grieg, and he would come on in the game to me, say his goodbyes. He refused and left Ibrox.

13 May 2026 20:04:10
No player has a right to be in the team, manager's choice, but we won't know till we're told what went on. Still, it's a sad end for a player who has been a fantastic servant to not be involved tonight. Let's wait n see the ins n outs.

13 May 2026 20:09:12
Think it's disrespectful, no matter what you think of Tav, the guy has been with us 10 years and contributed a lot of goals and assists. The least the club could do in his final home game was have him lead the team out one last time with his family. For me, it's a poor show. But that's just my opinion.

13 May 2026 20:19:30
Still wouldn't sign Watt John? I mean he was in a pub watching Celtic. ?

13 May 2026 20:24:51
He wasn't told he was on the bench at all, Bobby Mck. Told he wasn't in the squad. And, anyone who doesn't feel he deserved to start in a dead rubber, pointless game to allow him a proper send off then, I'm sorry you don't respect the player.

13 May 2026 20:27:47
That was just Bear, so if you're going to try and be a banker to another poster, at least get it right!

13 May 2026 20:30:03
OrangeT, do you know he wasn't selected for certain? According to both closest fan media, they've been told he was in the squad but was told he wasn't starting.

13 May 2026 20:38:48
No one is bigger than our Club. If Tav has walked out, then bye it is. Wish him all the best.

13 May 2026 20:41:34
No one knows if true. Club saying it's medical reasons. It's easy 2 just copy what others are saying.

13 May 2026 20:55:32
Frustrated bear. John mentioned Just. Not Watt.

13 May 2026 20:56:47
Getting players mixed up, bear.

13 May 2026 21:11:05
From what I'm hearing, Elijah Just wasn't in the pub. He has family members over from New Zealand and they walked past a pub full of Celtic supporters who stopped him for a photo that his family member took for a Celtic fan. There's no photo from inside the pub; it was outside. Then 'The Fitbaw Gospel' did their usual and wound everyone up, saying he was in the pub with them, and other media outlets followed suit.

If he was in the pub, then without doubt Celtic fans would've taken pictures inside the pub. The only picture seen is outside. My mate's a Well fan and assures me of this. ? Believe what you will. ?

13 May 2026 21:17:23
Tav should probably have been happy to be on the bench with a couple of Rohl's big signings.

13 May 2026 21:27:17
If he was fit, I completely agree. Tav should have led the team out for his last game as a Gers player at Ibrox, esp now last 2 games mean nothing, so why not let him unless there was a fitness issue.

Regardless, what folk may think of the guy, he's been at our club for a decade, through our worst times when many jumped ship, he has been a fantastic servant, scored many goals & deserves that respect at least.

13 May 2026 21:55:12
Aarons got a run out, so there's one for the future, aye? Does he just pick numbers oot a hat? Takes lb off, puts one footed rb on, 10 mins later goes oops and tries to sort it by putting a lb on and withdrawing a rb, and doing a wee switch. Na, get rid after his next "cup final" fixture, guy's a loon.

13 May 2026 22:05:21
Bear me, anyone can make a mistake re name, although why the pop tonight, u not watching Rangers?

13 May 2026 22:14:26
So, Tav moving his injection from Tuesday to Thursday for a medical issue from Monday as stated prematch at interview doesn't count.

13 May 2026 22:32:42
Walter Smith's legendary quote "Do not enter unless you are ready to put yourself second - and that should be the one and only time second is good enough for you." Message seems to have been lost in translation by Captain Marvel. Time to find someone who understands it.

13 May 2026 22:38:45
Sure it was just. Watt is a tremendous footballer, he's one we must try for in summer.

13 May 2026 22:38:52
Sorry but are people really putting this on Tav?

I know he has that stroppy thing in him. I mentioned it when Clement left him out, but cone on people, Danny Rohl knew what he was doing. We could not fall to 4th or get 2nd, literally nowt at stake. And even though I've been a firm Tav must go over ladt two seasons, I really think Rohl is trying to engineer his own sacking so he gets a pay off.

No matter the argument, Tav has been a great servant for this club to let a manager with nothing treat one of top players in your history like that is madness.

I was a Danny Rohl deserves another chance man, but that has tipped me over the edge, and I now hope club find a way of getting rid of Rohl without a pay off.

He's definitely trying to engineer his own sacking.

13 May 2026 22:41:27
And, to be honest, I think this season has scunnered me that much that I might be done with football. It's so blatantly obvious our game is corrupt in Celtic's favour, and I fully believe Celtic will continue to win until Rangers fans cancel their Sky accounts and stop going to games.

Once the overall money making from game gets threatened, then they will flip the script.

13 May 2026 22:57:07
Forever, for once no one can say the SFA aren't corrupt to the core! Everyone on-line and in the media is calling it out for what it is! Even the English pundits (in particular, Gary Lineker) are calling it out.

It's disgusting, as McInnes said. I'm gutted enough at the way we've gone out with a wimper, but that tonight just makes things a million times worse! It's shocking.

13 May 2026 23:05:09
Forever, I don't mind Rohl leaving him out of the XI. To me, that shows he wants to win games of football, not win the sentiment of the players.
Tavernier has been a fantastic servant to the club, and in a better side would've been held in high regard of the vast majority of our support.
I personally hold him in high regard. His numbers speak for themselves. Not many full backs can defend, and their purpose, in a lot of cases, is to influence the team in attack.

Which Tavernier did extremely well for us.
However, it's clear the manager wanted to bring him on tonight, and he could've said his goodbyes at the end of the match.
Tavernier, with his behaviour, has taken that away from himself and also a lot of the supporters who probably wanted to show their appreciation for his efforts.
We're not James Tavernier FC, we're Rangers FC. And we wish him all the best.

13 May 2026 23:24:16
Like him or loathe him, tonight was a nothing game. Tav should have been allowed to lead the team out at Ibrox for the last time. Sub him and he gets the ovation deserved for someone who's given 11yrs service.

13 May 2026 23:36:01
Rohl confirmed that Tav was indeed in the squad today after they rearranged his injection date, but he didn't accept not starting and left. It's poor from both sides. Massive Tav supporter, but no player should ever throw a fit over not starting a game.

14 May 2026 00:36:59
It wasn't a nothing game for me. I don't buy into that mentality! Yes, we've finished third, but I would like to have finished 3rd with as little a gap as possible and pride still intact. We've taken 0 points out of a potential 12. I'm hurting.

14 May 2026 01:11:12
It's a nothing game in as much as there was no risk playing Tav and letting him lead the team out.

14 May 2026 02:38:31
Regardless of Tav strop, it's still poor man management from Rohl. I'm over him.

Rohl out.

And for people to come out and claim injury afterwards, why didn't we hear anything before game? Another pr lie for me.

I would have even understood if loans were out and anyone not here next season and Rohl looking at players for next year, then fine, but sorry, something about this whole mess stinks.

Rohl spain his idea backfired. Should have let Tav know his intensions way before. Also think sonething has happened there previously, with Tav saying not looking at future until end of season, then doing uturn couple days later.

14 May 2026 06:13:02
Bad thought.

Russell Martin lost 13 points in 7 games, only lost 1 game and that was at the start of the season.

Danny Rohl has lost 12 points in the last four, having had a bit of time at the club and with players.

And I would have still given him a chance, but the Tav stuff stinks. If he was injured, why would he not say so before the game.

Poor man management at best.

Danny Rohl out!

14 May 2026 06:27:51
Frustrated bear, Elliot Watt is a Rangers supporter mate and his dad's a big Rangers supporter. ? Not that it entirely matters, but you're getting just and Watt mixed up with the Celtic pub thing. ?
