Troops, we all play the blame game. The blame game for me still sits with David Murray, to this day. He may have had Rangers at heart, but he screwed it up big style.
On another note. A lot of troops are now picking up on what I said a few weeks ago. We have four players coming in. One a German goalie. Two from Aphe neck of the woods and two Scots from England.
I know some will think that is five. Think about it!
06 May 2026 06:05:08
One is a former player?
My tired brain is saying that lol.
06 May 2026 06:41:24
Heard we're interested in the Swiss Plymouth Argyle striker Lorent Tolaj, 24yrs old. 17 goals and 8 assists in 29 appearances so far this season, valued at around 6mil.
06 May 2026 07:34:14
David Murray? Is it 2012 again?
06 May 2026 07:36:49
Let it be Moore! ?
06 May 2026 07:39:54
Ooops, miss the "Scots" from England. ??
06 May 2026 07:46:31
Robbie Ure coming back?
06 May 2026 08:11:35
My guess:
Henrik Falchener 22yo CB Viking FK
Silas Anderson 21yo DM Hacken
Nathan Patterson
No clue on GK tbh or even 2nd Scottish player lol.
06 May 2026 08:44:31
Goram, would love to see Robbie Ure coming back! Trueblueger, don't know much about Falchener, but believe Anderson is attracting interest from Wolfsburg and Koln, with Koln in advanced talks. Funnily enough, it's to replace Eric Martel, who looks like he's leaving Koln. Another player we were interested in, now possibly available on a free. Celtic are apparently interested in Martel now.
06 May 2026 09:01:15
I'm on the fence if it's Patterson. Would love him to come back and be a success, but he has had a lot of injuries, which we don't need, but it is looking like we possibly need 2 rb unless Curtis would cover that position also. I would like to see a proper rb in the mould of Rommens.
06 May 2026 09:12:54
Is one possibly Carl Rushworth at Brighton?
06 May 2026 09:15:31
Ignore me having a mare, he's not even German.
06 May 2026 09:36:11
4 players and one coach?
06 May 2026 09:37:42
Fork, I'd love for us to sign Rushworth, could be out no 1 for years. Top keeper, but I suspect Coventry will sign him permanently and Brighton will command £10m+.
06 May 2026 10:19:16
Ross McCrorie can play multiple positions and rb.
06 May 2026 10:30:11
I'm thinking one of the loans will be signed since he's already here.
Makes it 4 new signings?
06 May 2026 10:41:42
Quite possibly YB. ?
06 May 2026 11:05:05
Whitehorse, I searched for any players with the second name Tuscott. ?? Are any of the called Scott, maybe.
06 May 2026 11:17:30
Hopefully the Scot from England is McBurnie and McLean. I'd go as far as sayin McLean would have the same impact Davis did on his return.
06 May 2026 11:20:02
Wee thought
Could the German GK be Tjark Ernst?
2 from Scandinavia be Skov and Silas Andersen? Skov's already here. And the 2 Scots possibly from the list of Gannon Doak in place of Mikey Moore, or Kenny McLean in place of Dio or Patterson, Calvin Ramsay, Ross McCrorie, instead of Tav? Can't think of many others.
By the way, this is only my opinion and throwing names out like others. I will say though whoever we sign, I will trust our management team to bring out the best in them and get us # 56.
06 May 2026 11:28:35
I think the Scots will be McLean and McCorie, to be honest. And I would be happy with that, but we need more from our domestic league to strengthen the depth of the squad.
06 May 2026 12:40:26
Well, looks like Olsen is being signed going on the thread. ?
06 May 2026 12:46:58
Forky, my wife's a big Coventry fan and she says you're not getting Rushworth! Apparently Coventry have offered him a deal to keep him at the club till he retires. Great keeper btw
06 May 2026 13:11:38
Bournemouth signed Gannon Doak for £15 million last season, there is no way we are getting him. As for the Scots mentioned, McLean is 34 years old and done, McCrorie wasn't good enough, still isn't, and McBurnie is a social media Rangers fan, he's never lived in Scotland or played here, so he brings nothing that a foreign player or an English player wouldn't bring.
06 May 2026 13:54:13
Agree with WSL. McCrorie can play multiple positions, unfortunately he's average at all of them. McClean wouldn't last season, too old and slow, and would be another target for the boo boys after about 2 games. McBurnie. No, another one not worth an expensive wage.
06 May 2026 14:08:33
McBurnie has 17 goals and 8 assists so far this season. Not too bad if you ask me. Think he would actually do ok up here, to tell you the truth. Could do a lot worse. Talk of him potentially going to the World Cup. ?
06 May 2026 14:36:56
Is this the same Kenny McLean that has just won Norwich player of the year and is too old and slow while playing in a superior league that Kenny McLean?. ?
06 May 2026 15:25:34
Kyle Joseph rw.
06 May 2026 16:17:30
Wouldn't say Mcclean is done. He's still a good player and would do a fantastic job for us. We need to sign squad players, not just starters, and we need to sign Scots-trained players. He'd be a fantastic signing
Done at 34? Jesus Christ.
06 May 2026 16:45:14
Kenny McClean has just signed a year's extension at Norwich, so doubt it will be him.
06 May 2026 16:55:48
He hasn't signed yet, Rwn, but has confirmed he'll be a Norwich player next season.
06 May 2026 16:56:54
Really? Norwich POY and that's a good enough reason for bringing him to Ibrox?
Look at Rothwell as example, plays in same league, who is 3 years younger, and he was going to be the experience we needed, that played out well.
Don't think a 34 year old journeyman is going to win us the league.
Agree, we need experience, but a big no from me on those mentioned.
06 May 2026 17:19:12
G4, he doesn't have to sign anything by the looks of it. The year's extension has been triggered by Norwich that keeps him at the club for the 26/27 season. Nonetheless, he could still be sold if a club made an offer. Good player, but don't think he's what we need going forward.
06 May 2026 17:52:30
Broste64, hardly a journeyman. He's played for three clubs and had 2 loans and been at Norwich since 2018.
Difference between Rothwell and McLean is McLean has experience playing in our league.
True, Rwn
06 May 2026 18:56:35
G4, sorry, exactly a journeyman.
Having played in our league can't be a prerequisite for us to be interested. Not buying this. We need players who have played in our league. We just need players with the right attitude and hunger.
06 May 2026 19:15:11
How come Celtic can buy players that haven't played in our league and they do well, look at Kyogo, Maeda and Hatate. They had little knowledge of the league and were signed by a manager who had little knowledge of the league and all managed to hit the ground running and win multiple trophies. It's about talent and attitude.
06 May 2026 19:35:36
2 Scots currently in England.
2 from Aph's neck of the woods. So I take it, one of the 2 from Aph's neck of the woods is a German goalkeeper.
06 May 2026 19:59:50
Wsl hitting the nail on the head. Attitude trumps experience of the league and even talent. The Japanese are known to have a great work ethic and look after themselves with regards to health.
06 May 2026 20:59:03
Aryshire, am not disagreeing with attitude over experience, however, McLean was being compared to Rothwell, and McLean has a fantastic attitude and has experience.
Broste, if you think playing for 3 clubs in a long career is a journeyman then that's a you issue.
06 May 2026 21:04:51
Ayrshire, ? agree.
I just want better players that have the hunger and heart. Don't care where they are from or have played.
06 May 2026 23:40:23
G4, is there a specific number of clubs that qualifies you as being a journeyman?
It's not an issue at all. I just don't see how a 34-year-old average midfielder takes us to a new level.
07 May 2026 03:43:37
Journeyman is dykes and say players who are
Decent but never settle we've had Dwight gayle
Amd ostemstad or Jeffers Emerson Fabio Bonini vignal erc
07 May 2026 14:28:14
Cavanaugh should not escape blame either for this season. It was him that allowed Thelwell, Stewart, Martin to turn down likes of Shankland, Mulligan on frees, and pay 10 million for a striker after we played our qualifiers and not before, to actually help us in those qualifiers.
Absolute madness at the club at the start of this season. People should not forget these things. The signs of incompetence were there for all to see, just some didn't want to believe it.
