Has anyone read anything about UEFA investigations into the 2008 season.
10 Feb 2026 10:28:59
U talking about Manchester Live? ? Not seen anything.
10 Feb 2026 10:30:13
What sort of investigation?
10 Feb 2026 10:51:48
Can't find a thing on whatever it is. What are they investigating?

"Livi."

Recent articles circulating on social media claiming UEFA is looking at "old emails" or "dark questions" about Celtic's 2008 title don't appear to have backing from major news providers or any official UEFA communication. They're not verified reporting.

I read an article this morning regarding Celtic having had meetings with referee and officials over that season, and a report being sent to UEFA.

Hopefully they are investigating the SFA/SPL for making Rangers play so many games with not enough down days between them. Blatant abuse of our players.
10 Feb 2026 12:36:51
Old SFA member came out years later and said there was a phone call received saying, don't help Rangers, don't extend the season. Then the mysterious tour of Japan was announced, the one they didn't go on.

This sounds like bull to me.
10 Feb 2026 13:04:32
Are we surprised ?, or is this possibly more conspiracy stuff? Although it was poor what we were forced to do, as Wsl touched on.
10 Feb 2026 13:23:51
Just seen something on social media regarding leaked emails from Celtic to the SFA or SPL.
10 Feb 2026 13:49:54
I can't help thinking this is the way that mob carry on.
10 Feb 2026 14:51:28
Why not follow up? We all know what happened, no help from the league or SFA making us play so many games in so little time. It needs investigated if there is a case to answer.
10 Feb 2026 14:54:10
We were required to play 4 games in 8 days, around the same time meetings were apparently had between 'interested' parties requesting that no help be given to us under any circumstances. Did one of the SFA hierarchy (now retired) not spill the beans on that one? Interesting, but of course we're all deluded and up to our necks in conspiracy theories etc, that we can't possibly be thinking straight.

Key matches in the final weeks (May 2008):
May 14: UEFA Cup Final vs. Zenit St Petersburg (Lost)
May 17: Scottish Premier League vs. Motherwell (Won)
May 19: Scottish Premier League vs. St Mirren (Won)
May 22: Scottish Premier League vs.
Aberdeen (Lost)
May 24: Scottish Cup Final vs. Queen of the South (Won)
These matches were part of a stretch where Rangers played 13 games in 34 days, concluding the season with an intense 5 matches in 11 days.

The Guardian has reported that. There is supposed to be a taped telephone conversation that has appeared in a Spanish court, regarding bribery of some description by the Russian mafia in relation to the result of the semi-final between Zenit St Petersburg and Bayern. Zenit won the second leg 4-0 after getting a 1-1 draw in Munich.
10 Feb 2026 16:08:34
We drew with Motherwell.

UEFA do not have jurisdiction, for a start. Anything that happened within our own league goes through our national association, not UEFA.
10 Feb 2026 22:28:56
Also, again, UEFA do nothing about corruption in Europe, anyhow. Very selective with who gets punished and who doesn't.
