Anyone know the full story with proper is he looking for us to make up the full deficit of his wages if he leaves.
19 Jul 2025 19:55:07
Rangers want to sell him and where he is going he is getting less wages. So he could stay at Rangers not playing picking up the wage we gave him or we can pay him off and he leaves.
19 Jul 2025 19:58:18
In simple terms if he is made redundant he gets what was is left on his contract. Most would want the same in any other job. can't see any issues if I was in his shoes would want the same unless I was being signed by Real Madrid on mega mllions but the man has to look after himslef and family if he's going back to lower pay. His carreer could be over in the next couple of years and has 2 young kids. It is the liee of a footballer but unless your in the very top leagues then you have to look after yourself.
19 Jul 2025 19:59:55
Another disaster of an appointment. Tbf if he's more than happy to sit on the bench then there's nowt we can do . except play him in reserves.
19 Jul 2025 20:00:20
Rahter annoying but fair also a suppose.
19 Jul 2025 20:03:03
He probably is Rfc22. I don't like our club to be in this position, but he is well within his rights to make sure he's not out of pocket.
19 Jul 2025 20:08:21
Hes entitled to be paid but if he's happy to sit on the bench not getting a game so be it.
19 Jul 2025 20:30:31
Be in the stand if lucky not the bench.
19 Jul 2025 21:21:45
Does Proper not want to leave?
If he wants to leave then we pay him no compensation,
If he's not prepared to go under though's terms then he stays and becomes a squad player.
I suspect though he wants to leave and wants the best of both worlds.
19 Jul 2025 23:20:59
We badly need him gone.
No future at Rangers.
20 Jul 2025 00:20:15
Seems like a bit of both, the club don't see him as the answer to the type of defender we need and he is not cut out for our league so pay the man and let him go back to holland so he can get on with playing where he will be happier, simple really.
We have to honor the contract, it was our decision to sign him, all clubs make signings that don't work out.
If we are now saying we don't want him, then pay him what he is due and we move on.
We Have more important issues like getting 2 quality left footed RWs in, and at least 1 more quality CB, ideally 2.

Another koppen Fk up.
20 Jul 2025 02:50:24
Billyfiz, bit harsh on Koppen. Think he done well overall. Will you applaud him when Hamza goes for big money? Never known any scout to get 100% great players. And btw I don't think Propper was even Koppen, it was the assistant coach that was in for a few months that knew him from holland. Van der hayden I think.
20 Jul 2025 03:36:48
Propper be a man you either want to go home and play or stay for the wage
His crying only shows why he was never right for us.
20 Jul 2025 04:09:39
I hate the saying he has to look after his family. the guy has bn picking up a few grand a week. does his kids go to the harry potter school for golden children?
20 Jul 2025 05:55:44
IMO koppen was the best thing to happen to this club in recent years and it's a big mistake letting him go. He basically only oversaw 1 window ( last summer ) and apart from Cortes and bajrami ( jury still out ) proper was the only fail in my opinion.
20 Jul 2025 07:13:31
And comparing a proffesional football to and ordinary working man sorry but what a joke.
20 Jul 2025 07:31:50
Forever, His crying? where has this crying happened or is this something you've just made up? would you walk away for around half his current wage? something is telling me not a chance you would.
20 Jul 2025 07:59:07
Is it a joke though forever? Propper hasn't earned a big wage before Rangers and you expect him not to protect his family now, mans got a couple of youngsters to support and his career with be over in a couple of years.
20 Jul 2025 07:59:41
Actually I will answer the OP question: no no-one actually knows the full story and that is the problem. everyone once again just jumps on the negative of the story again.
20 Jul 2025 09:32:18
Sorry, but if you have been given a contract, you are entitled to the remuneration/ security that provides. No ifs, buts or maybes, although compromise can be reached for release, he's entitled regardless, not crying, it's his right, only greeting is your uninformed post.
20 Jul 2025 10:07:00
Billy Fiz - Propper was a last ditch desperate move to get a CB in after Cordoba backed out of signing for us and went to Norwich instead.
20 Jul 2025 11:20:10
Mystar if he got a big move after 6 months or a year would he give Rangers the money back no!
We need to stop pandering to these types of players and realise playing is a bog thing for them especially at his age
You want the move to play football you take the wage cut or get his new club to fork up
Id ask how is it any diff to accepting a low ball offer for transfer fee if the money not going to club and we are already taking a hit on fee only fairr he takes hit on wage and i'm sure wage at new club will be more than what he was on before left holland
Its greed and nothing more.
20 Jul 2025 11:48:22
Is it a major issue if he gets some form of pay up to get him out the squad and a fee in, it's not ideal but it must tick some box of FFP or whatever it's called these days
I think someone who doesn't want to be there or is left for playing reserve games at some point is going to become toxic within the squad/ club.
20 Jul 2025 12:11:08
Nonsense again forever, he got a contract he signed the contract if he signs for another club on half the wage that Rangers gave him he will negotiate a fee for the remaining years on his contract with Rangers.
20 Jul 2025 12:13:09
Greedy now, that is class forever, greedy or getting what he is due?
20 Jul 2025 13:37:28
Me personally I think we need to stand strong and tell him he either goes and plays football at a good level with and club and supporters that love him without any golden handshake or he goes and trains on his own and destroys what's left of his career never seeing our first team again. Our club need to stop paying players off to leave.
20 Jul 2025 14:28:03
He was a gamble one that didn't pay off sometimes this happens in football it's a shame because in Holland he was really good.
20 Jul 2025 14:42:14
Certainly don't agree here Bellshill Rangers gave him the contract.
20 Jul 2025 17:52:29
So even if we have to pay him some money to go, it still won't be as much as we should make when we sell Igamane, so I think Koppen is in credit.
