Looks like we've made a move for Harry Darling.
14 Jun 2025 09:35:41
Said on the page before Christmas we've been monitoring him.
14 Jun 2025 09:46:21
Hope so very decent player ??????.
14 Jun 2025 09:48:34
Good, cb like him we need, likes a goal as well, scored a couple of crackers.
14 Jun 2025 10:42:16
If the rumours are true, and we are trying to sign Darling, along with the likes of Coady and Toffolo, then right away, our defence has improved tenfold. Sort out our weakness at RB, and we will have one solid defensive unit.
14 Jun 2025 10:54:03
Not enamoured. Very weak physically. A poor signing.
14 Jun 2025 10:55:25
SS good to see you posting but coady doesn't make our defence better older slower version of souttar who is good enough.
14 Jun 2025 11:01:34
He is very athletic, very weak physically Stuths? you taking about the same player? solid in the tackle.
14 Jun 2025 11:14:11
Thanks Storm.
What he will bring is experience, and organisation, which I'm sure you'll agree, has been sorely missing. We do not have anyone who can do that, so on that basis, he improves our defence straight away.
14 Jun 2025 11:34:14
Darling on the back of shirts will sell well mmmm.
14 Jun 2025 11:52:26
Yes. I don't think he'd have the physicality for what we want, especially in europe.
We also have an absolutely incipient record of signing centre backs from the championship/ league 1.
14 Jun 2025 12:40:17
Darling is very athletic player and wins most his dues you do not do that when physically weak Struths, why i asked are you talking about another player, also wins the majority of balls in the air again you ain't doing that if physically weak.
14 Jun 2025 12:46:36
I would argue that our centre back signings have been pretty poor outwith Goldson, Helander and Balogun in the last 7-8 years whether from England or not. It shows when Sterling and Bassey were brought in to play full back they went onto have a run of games at centre half how poor the defensive recruitment has been (luckily Bassey turned out to be a class signing at both centre and left back) . Souttar could be argued as he can be solid 99% of a game but his one brain fart costs us goals too often.
14 Jun 2025 13:06:37
Trying very hard to not judge until later on but the rumoured defensive signings are very very underwhelming and can see it only going one way.
14 Jun 2025 13:43:21
I would like McKenna quick and tough.
14 Jun 2025 13:45:17
Actually quite funny how perception is. per 90 minutes Robin Propper had better stats in ground duals, aerial duals won, tackles, interceptions. only beaten on blocks and clearances. yet Darling is seen as an upgrade. only time will tell I suppose.
14 Jun 2025 14:05:38
McKenna is quick? Compared to who . Strong in the tackle and in the air but could never be describes as quick .
14 Jun 2025 15:40:42
McKenna was recorded as quickest at Aberdeen when there, maybe the rest were slow eh? Do some checking info always available if you look properly. No doubt he is quick for a CB .
14 Jun 2025 19:11:46
Don't spend much time reading stats on Aberdeen, prefer my own eyes . Maybe I was wrong though, maybe its just that he's so slow on the turn that despite his blinding straight line pace he can't catch opposing forwards.
14 Jun 2025 19:33:54
You stick to your guns mate even when you don't have a clue, didn't say he had blinding pace just that he was quickest at Aberdeen in sprints. So cannot be slow you think. can you think?
14 Jun 2025 20:10:05
How long ago was that crocket? Has he kept his blinding pace aye.
14 Jun 2025 23:01:46
His last season at Aberdeen they did that sprint thing he won it, but I think they had to open the gates as he couldn't stop, don't think there are many CB's that have been fastest at a club . Ok he's no the Worlds best but we are no in that market or anywhere near it. is he as good as Harry Darling, maybe? People have been tipping Burgess who is def no quick, gone to Swansea to replace the Darling though . Big lad could give Shankland a 5 yard start, some here adore that big lump .
