Might be early on, but Makhanya is giving off the Boumsong and Cueller vibes. Our best overseas CB since those 2. Could also put Bougherra in there.

Borna, I think he'll have a better career than the lot of them mate.

Three different types of centre backs those three. Boumsong strolled it up here but didn't always relish the physical side, I was still shocked that he bombed at Newcastle though. Cuellar was an out and out no nonsense defender and did well at Villa when he left. Bougherra was my favourite though, big, strong, quick and could the bring the ball out when the chance arose.
Who can forget his goal against Dundee United at Ibrox. He also had a wee bit of needle about him and loved to put it about in the OF games. Had a good international career too as I recall.

All 3 centre halfs of Carlos Cuellar, Jean-Alain Boumsong and Madjid Bougherra were all terrific centre half but i agree with Stevie G. that for me also big Cuellar the best of them all. 👌 He put fires out before they even got started and what a reader of the game he was and our current centre half makhanya seems to have all this also 👌🇬🇧.

Excellent player, i was a little concerned with the general height of our defensive signings, but I have been pleasantly surprised by him.
