The resignation of Technical Director Dan Purdy highlights a deeper, systemic issue within our club.
The unsustainable cycle of panic driven by intense fan pressure that's ill informed and crosses the line over to personal lives far to often is becoming the hallmark of our club.
While many supporters celebrate his departure as just rewards for the clubs failure to win trophies, I worry about the foundations of our club and the reputational damage being done to a club who's standards are repeatedly lowered by a toxic fanbase, who ironically use those same standards as a benchmark to justify their behaviour.
Sometimes, we just aren't the people.

You can't blame the fans for the damage been done to the club EHL we are the clubs heartbeat. We're not paid million of pounds each year by the club, in fact it's the opposite we put millions in each year.

I agree EHL.
A club can be the heartbeat but also be detrimental to the club if toxic enough. We may put millions in a year but that doesn't give us any right to have personal attacks at staff, playing or non playing.
Especially when most of us would go weak at the knees if we were in any of the club personnel's positions and had the same amount of abuse.

I remember seeing the footage of Clement being viciously abused as he walked out of Ibrox. Embarrassing doesn't cover it. Absolutely shameful. Easy to understand the point at which a job is easy to walk away from.

If we stuck with giovanni or clement I think we would have won the league by now. Unfortunately we have 15 years of pain so you can understand fans frustration your definitely right though doesn't give us the right to abuse anyone. its a lot of money we've put in over the years with very little return.

I can Wallace, there is an element of our fanbase who are vile human beings and use our clubs badge and standards as justification for their behaviour.
The sentiment that paying money in to the club justifies or validates what is ultimately criminal behaviour by our fans is embarrassing and the type twisted privilege that will continue to damage the reputation of our club and our game.

I absolutely agree with you wholeheartedly EHL 🤔 There's no doubt we have a minority that support our great club who are very toxic towards our management team and players over the years, i don't know how anyone can deny that 😲🇬🇧.

Glasgow for you it's always been a cesspit if you have a look at the all the schemes and especially the city centre the place is completely run down. This is ingrained into most of the younger people from Glasgow and your right it's embarrassing. Councils have lot to answer for letting the place fester away, letting down our youth and future generations/players this comes from the very top over the last 50 years more interested in money than the people of our beloved Scotland 🏴.
There's a lot more to it than just fans being vile against people our club employ. This runs very deep.

Wallace I agree about Clement, if he had been in charge last summer instead of the imposter we would have had a far better season. can't agree about Gio though, he got lots of investment by Scottish standards but once he started to break up Gerrards team it became obvious he didn't know how to win games in Scotland, and the football was dire.
A nice guy, a club great and we'll never forget the road to Seville but he just wasn't the right man to manage Rangers at that time. I will say that some of the signings may have been forced on him by Ross Wilson but allowing that to happen is not the sign of a strong manager.

It's seemed odd to me that we demand loyalty but lose one game and we're done with you. Make one mistake and your a bomb scare. Where's the days of C'mon Rangers instead of Yer Dog Sh*te. I was taught never tell another fan how to support the Club so I didn't. And I feel like the dignified silence let the worst of us rise to the numbers it is now.
Some fans will scream foul things at our team then ask for picture outside after. I don't get the negativity towards something you love. I get the let down I get the standards have dropped from our great time. But when has kicking a man when he's down ever helped? But hey it's just my opinion doesn't make it fact.

Glasgow is a cesspit? you've been watching to many BBC documentaries. Many of us on here were born/raised in schemes that don't abuse our own players. Not sure why your having a go at Glasgow and schemes in particular, like you somehow know it's people from the areas you mention that are the problem in our fan base.
Put a post up days ago EHL about a guy i was arguing with inside Ibrox, who was shouting at the top of his voice for devlin to get took off every time he got on the ball, it know devlin heard as it was so loud, he wasn't far from him at the time, i was so angry.
Right at the moment we needed our fans in that game, he decides to abuse one of our own unbelievable.

It's an embarrassment the way some of our clubs directors, managers, coaches and players have been treated by some of our fans over the years.

BradtheYank, I still remember the season before last where our fans held up a horrible banner aimed at driving Muslims out of Europe.
A week or so later the same group of fans were all celebrating a young Muslim scoring the winner against Celtic.
I also remember so many posters on here sticking up for the fans and trying to deny that there was anything wrong with the banner.

Look at the abuse Tav took as well. Having some moron stand screaming in his face as he gets off the team bus. Some fans think they can act how they like because they pay for a season ticket. What if it was their son or brother being treated like that. There are a lot of self entitled fans amongst us.

Am I missing something regarding Dan Purdy. Did something unsavoury happen to him or is the thread just talking in general.
If something happened to him I am 100% in agreement but if we are talking about boos and shouts at a football match then not at all.
It's part of football that I don't particularly like and have only ever done to opposition personally, but it comes with the territory of working in an elite sport and getting paid elite wages.
Feel more sorry for folks in call centres getting abused daily, to be frank, than some person who has the priveledge of working in football earning big bucks.
Feel football is so full of crap and detached from the real world at times.

Lots of people were brought up in schemes and still know perfectly well how to behave appropriately. Where someone grows up can influence their circumstances, but it doesn't determine their character or excuse poor behaviour.
People, and their parents, need to take personal responsibility for how they conduct themselves rather than blaming councils, cities or the environment they were brought up in. Circumstances can explain behaviour, but they shouldn't be used to excuse it.
Ultimately, you can either accept your circumstances as they are, or you can make the effort to improve yourself. And I don't mean just financially; I mean becoming a better, more respectful and responsible person. Where you come from is part of your story; it doesn't have to define who you become.

Many years ago I worked for the Post Office, I was serving a customer who had problems with his mail. I was trying to advise him he had to contact Royal Mail as the Post Office did not deliver his mail. His language was a disgrace and I said to him I couldn't discuss it with him any further if he kept swearing.
His reply astounded me. He said I have to swear i'm fae Possil.
My reply was I'm from Drunchapel but I'm not swearing at you. Where you come from matters not a jot in how you behave.
Its an excuse.
