Will Sterling be fit for two games in a row? đ¤
14 Aug 2026 06:41:50
You know I rate Raskin, Stevie G, but he was puffing out of his a**e after an hour. đ˛ In fact, tbh, we didn't look fit overall. đ I would absolutely start Cammy Devlin against St. Mirren because he brings energy and attitude. đĨ This will be a very tough game for us on Sunday, and St.
Mirren will come with absolutely no fear whatsoever. đ¤ Like My Star and a few others, I was desperately wanting us to sign Dan Neil, but he looks way off it for me. đ¤ Only hope, once he properly settles down, he'll show his ability, and of course it's way to early to fully judge him. đ¤

Shankland should never be near our starting 11 ever again. In fact, he should be escorted back to Hearts for free. Well, if they'd take him.
However, as you stated, Stevie, it's all we have. Him or Naderi?!. đđđđ

I've been shouting for Shankland for years to be signed, but it certainly looks like he's nowhere near standard for us. You could say the same for most of the squad just now, but our captain is slow, immobile and has the touch of a washing machine.
He needs to be a bench player. Last 25 mins, if you are going to be attacking the box more often, and that's it.

Naderi was also very poor last night, Sunshine. âšī¸

What have some of you been watching to ever think Shankland was Rangers standard?
We are such a mess, us fans are deluded & can no longer tell what's required.
Totally broken.

Naderi - In general, is very poor đ đ đ would rather have Zebedee Lawson up there 100%.

Gdog, he's been scoring for fun for years. And more often than not against us so it's easy to think that could translate. Some players find their niche and it suits them but he doesn't suit us at all. Hold ma hands up.
But also think we did it too late as well. Scottish players in general look done by time they are 31, certainly in attacking roles.
Top of my head, can think about Boyd, Naismith, McFadden. Once brilliant players just lose it suddenly.

Shanks will still get 20+ for us imo this season.
The whole team isn't clicking and now Shanks is getting the blame.
We can only
keep persevering one game at a time now and hope that a few new signings can kick start it.
It only takes one good performance and win to change the feeling of the club.

Lawrence did manage to score, granted, he was off it on the night, he'd admit that himself.
Still managed to play boys in a few times and had a decent attempt saved first half tae.
His record speaks for itself. Get him a settled strike partner, then we'll see how things develop.

"The whole team isn't clicking and now Shanks is getting the blame."
Well, now he knows how James Tavernier has felt for the past decade. We are expected to win, Shankland needs to score 20+ goals, and be a leader on the pitch.
He knew coming in these would be the expectations. We were told McInnes and Shankland would be able to handle these expectations due to their status as Scottish Rangers fans who "get it".

You don't become a poor striker overnight. Shankland has proved himself and will still score. The team is not playing as a team. His service is poor. He's probably trying too hard. He wants it as much as we do, if not more. We don't give time and now we are on his back. Once it clicks it'll be fine, but maybe too late.
14 Aug 2026 09:38:56
Did not having a "settled partner" contribute to him not being able to trap a ball? How many times did the ball bounce off him? Did it contribute to every 2nd touch of his being a tackle?
14 Aug 2026 10:25:01
Aye, he wasn't at his best last night.

What poor comments about Shankland. He's a goal scorer and will score plenty for us, but we have to give him chances
