I'm reading a lot of concerned posts regarding the lack of "quality" signings. I've also highlighted this, but I have stated i believe we will sign some "quality" before the window closes.
Yes, I'd much prefer them to be already signed, but I do not think for one second that our club haven't been trying. Does anyone really think the club have been complacent in our persuit of quality starters? Not a chance!
Look, I know we need to step it up, and sign this "quality" we all crave, because right now, we are nowhere ready to win the league back. Have faith, and let's see where we are when the window closes, as I'm confident we'll be in a much stronger position.

Celtic look like they're not messing about either, looks like they'll sign 3 or 4 quality starters rather than 12 squad players.
28 Jul 2026 08:41:29
We haven't as yet addressed the real problem areas in the team, and have we really upgraded any of the 1st team?
28 Jul 2026 09:42:40
Correct, Kaiser, and that should have been the 1st areas addressed. Yes, still 5 weeks of window to go, but the league starts on Friday, and it's never easy away in Dundee for us, especially against Utd.
28 Jul 2026 10:04:25
I know Storm, folk keep saying about wait till Sept 3rd, but we have 7 or 8 games by then, including 2 rounds of qualifiers and a cup game. Just look at last season for the impact of a bad start. Any new players have missed the preseason and won't have the same time to work on training/tactics because we're straight into 2 games a week.

The thing with Celtic is that they have a squad that won a double. So they lose a player by the equivalent and still have a settled squad. Madea went based on what he did at club level. So will Raskin if he goes. 🤷🏼 We have gone from disaster to disaster and are still paying the price. It's the broken record that's stuck.
Still seeing the same quotes.
"Hold out for top dollar." "Bring in players with great sell on potential." Yet we still don't have a captain for our club. 🤷🏼 As for the squad, I'd say we are the same level as last year but Curtis is not a winger. Think we will be better placed in 6 weeks, but the vicious cycle has to stop at some point.
28 Jul 2026 10:31:18
Same old roundbaout seaon after season.
Celtic win league. Rangers rebuilding. Celtic look crap. Rangers spending money and signing guff. Rangers have new manager by Christmas. Celtic win the league. Repeat.
Totally sick of it. Very disappointed with the signings so far tbh.
Pandur looks decent
Devlin (was free) looks good, but he's not going to create or score goals.
Shankland (was free) looks overweight and slow.
Not that it matters, as we do not create chances for our strikers, same as last season, and corners are terrible again.
Gassama only wants to dive around.
Couldn't lay a glove on a rather poor West Ham side. Yes, it's a friendly, but still show some pride.
Anyways. I'm looking forward to Friday. 🤣🤣
28 Jul 2026 10:39:34
Shankland looks the same as he always has and it's never stopped him so far.
28 Jul 2026 10:50:23
Keep the positivity up, lads.
28 Jul 2026 11:04:28
Yes, I think they are complacent. They have signed 3 CMs when we were already strong numbers-wise. Yet no wingers, a position we all know we are lacking in!
We barely have a backline and 1 bad injury could leave us really short, and a signing from the MLS isn't going to cut the mustard in easing fans' concerns.
Will we be much stronger by the end of the window because signings so far have been mediocre and we haven't even upgraded the squad compared to our 3rd place finish from last season.
28 Jul 2026 11:08:27
Ally, we've signed so called "quality" before and it's been a disaster. I think we're looking at being hard to beat first, then the attacking side comes next.
I think there will be 4 more in before the window closes. 🤞🏼 That's enough.
28 Jul 2026 11:10:48
Jesus, the volume of returning usernames that I've not seen in months that seem to have come back to moan the face off each other is absolutely astounding.
Stop looking over the road, stop moaning about what's come in and back the lads until they show us otherwise.
28 Jul 2026 11:16:43
Give us reasons for positivity then, sons of struth. Are we any better than the squad that came 3rd, apart from that we've tried to dismantle Hearts challenge?
28 Jul 2026 11:30:00
1st choices might not want to come, club might want too much cash or need to find someone to bring in, and same with that club and so on, club trying, but sometimes if you want a certain player you have to wait instead of moving for someone else, we are calling crap a few months down line and get off pay roll.
28 Jul 2026 12:05:03
I was going to ask sons the same, Kaiser.
There isn't much to be positive about when we are so low in quality wide areas, no back up left back, no 1st team right back (my opinion), and a couple of Ch missing. Lastly, a creative midfielder that we have been crying out for years.
28 Jul 2026 12:11:58
Why don't we all just settle down a bit, the constant moaning is ridiculous.
28 Jul 2026 12:15:52
I think the problem is far too many of us remember the start to last season we had. 4 draws and a loss with our first win in the league not coming until 28th Sept (last minute goal as well).
We know we need to start this season as strongly as possible so there are no early bumps in the road that can have us playing catch up for the rest of the season.
If you were to ask me if we are a better squad than we were last season, I would personally say no. I don't think we are. This is just my personal opinion. I just hope some real quality and difference makers are added to the squad and can settle in and have us coming out the blocks stronger and really putting an early marker down in the league.
28 Jul 2026 12:22:30
There was me accusing poor Coops of being the forum polis, when along along it's ForzaPapac. Sorry guv, it's a fair cop. 😁
28 Jul 2026 12:29:12
Storm, I agree with your post, specially the wide areas and creative midfield, can't we just be patient.
28 Jul 2026 12:31:32
There was a big shout for players with Rangers DNA and we've signed Shankland and McCrorie, players who get stuck in, Devlin, Neil, Drogojevic and Godfrey, and Butland had to be replaced, Pandur.
Only now are people starting to say we need quality, that seemed to be forgotten about.
Quality costs money and we seem reluctant to buy the likes of Dahl and Cerny to go with the workers we've added.
28 Jul 2026 12:51:25
So u still can't actually offer any reason to be more positive when asked than Sons of Struth, just we should stop moaning?
28 Jul 2026 13:11:57
Well said Biggles!
I think most folk have forgotten about last season and wiped it from memory tbf.
WSL, who forgot about quality? I saw many many on here stating they didn't care about where someone was from as long as they had the quality.
Adding a couple of good solid pros was needed, but should never be at the expense of quality, but I guess quality is subjective.
28 Jul 2026 14:09:29
So how do you sign players if their current club doesn't want to sell them. Let's just say they are 1st team players. The players who are quality are normally wanted by their clubs, so are more difficult to prise away.
So if we want players early we need to ignore the ones we really want but who may become available later in the window. Or try to get them by paying an offer their club won't turn down but well over value. The alternative, as I say, is ignore them and move on to 'lesser quality' targets who won't get us where we want to be.
Don't you think there is a reason we have only signed OOC players, loans who aren't currently wanted by their clubs, and Rangers men.
These are the deals which you can get done quickly.
So there is a world of difference between not identifying the right players and being then able to get them over the line in the timeframes I suspect the club would prefer, but the timeframe the fans scream for.
We have a decent enough first team currently to deal with the early part of the league programme and then fit in the 'quality' as we buy it. We will definitely be difficult to beat; I think we will be fitter, so will win games because of that. Hearts pushed Celtic to the final stages of the league with a squad which wasn't any better quality-wise than us. McInnes just got them playing better.
28 Jul 2026 15:42:07
Kaiser, I'm happy with the signings so far, once we get the wide areas and a creative midfielder, then we'll see, I'll guarantee it will be a lot better than watching last year's mince.
28 Jul 2026 16:01:49
Angus, we have spent round about 10m on 2 players that aren't OOC loans who currently aren't wanted or Rangers men! Doesn't that no fit in2 ure point?
28 Jul 2026 16:17:00
Here's hoping Struth. Also apologies for being in a bad mood earlier. Was a bit snippy. But I do feel the priorities, as u mentioned, haven't been addressed 1st.
28 Jul 2026 17:09:10
Kaiser, no need to apologise, we all want the same thing.
