When do we head out to Spain
08 Jul 2026 06:32:56
We head out to our Spain training camp this Friday 10th of July, Allybear. ???

Bad planning by the club. It means DM & the squad will miss the glorious 12th. ??
Sack the board.

The glorious 12th of August is the start of the grouse shooting season, Foolmonty. I didn't realise Derek McInnes and our players were into this. ?
08 Jul 2026 08:48:25
Cheers Sir Walter & Foolmonty, let's get players signed in training fit to go for a great season.
08 Jul 2026 09:44:47
The glorious 11th this year in wishy, Foolmonty. ?
08 Jul 2026 10:02:24
Glorious for myself in more than one way as it's my birthday on the 12th. Always find a march somewhere as my dad used to take me on my birthday every year ? Middle name William also, my auld da was Staunch!!! RIP. ???????

I'm an atheist, so not into all that religious stuff myself.
08 Jul 2026 13:12:01
Me2, it's a lot of nonsense.
I was in the flute band as a teenager. Done my tour of Belfast. Lost my virginity over there, actually, lol.
But listen, it's a lot of nonsense. The sooner the world learns that the powers that be use religion to control us all and keep us fighting amongst ourselves, the better.
We are all equal.
08 Jul 2026 13:25:26
Entitled to your opinion, I am not a zealot with it, but I enjoy the bands and the uniforms/tunes.
People feel a lot stronger with it. We live in a free country, so people should be free to do as they please, follow their culture without judgement.
08 Jul 2026 13:30:25
To equate current nonsense associated with the 12th with God and the Gospel is nonsense. Yes I understand the history (I have a Masters degree in that period of history) but true equality is found in the Gospel, all on the same level, atheists are equally as petty and tending to bigotry and persecution as any others, see Communist regimes around the world for proof.

I have a lot of walking to do in Wishaw and Airdrie, very tiring.
08 Jul 2026 14:14:50
Me2 and Stevie, I agree it's nothing but bigoted crap and it shouldn't be on these pages either. It has zero to do with football. But the problem is the West of Scotland and a lot of adults acting like children.
08 Jul 2026 14:46:22
Don't go to the walks myself, but saying Rangers and religion bigotry etc has zero to do with football is as wide as the mark as can be, the support is the club like any other club and it shows at every game that's attended by the majority even if it's just for 90mins, it's tribal.
08 Jul 2026 16:08:44
Going to Alicante, so may get the parade in Benidorm. Play Kaisercheifs in Alicante on the 12th.
08 Jul 2026 18:23:04
The bands and music have little to do with religion. You could be watching a pipe band and make up your own lyrics to the tunes.
08 Jul 2026 18:59:45
Each to their own.
If culture could be celebrated without the trouble, I'd accept it, but in Scotland, North of Ireland and Ireland in general, it doesn't happen like that.
There's always the evilness, the underlying hatred of your neighbour, workmate, even family member sometimes.
On both sides.
My da was heavily involved, to say the least, in the other side of things going through the late 80s, 90s, early 2000s. He was into that, and my mum carried the crown at the front of her lodge at the parades on both sides of the water.
There couldn't be a more confused upbringing if u tried lol.
That's probably why. With a strong mind like I have, I was able to see through it all for what it is and walk away from the Protestant side of things in my mid to late teens.
How could I sing hateful songs or play drum in hateful marches when I'm from a mixed background?
Where's the sense in that?
My wee brother's name is Derry fgs lol. I like to think the differences in the last 40 years to now will, again in 40 years, have took the same leaps forward.
It's not got a place in modern society, unless they can make marches shorter and keep them within their own communities, which both sides refuse to do.
08 Jul 2026 19:27:50
Plenty from mixed families are involved in both sides Stevie, not been in an Orange club in thirty odd years because of a fall out but lots of good people in them as well as well as idiots, take people individually.
08 Jul 2026 20:40:22
Coopersdad, I do mate. I'd like to think I come across exactly like u say mate.
It's not always the ones in the marches, bands, lodges. Although, there are some right rockets in the bands, mate. I can attest to that.
People are not educated, they're brainwashed as kids by parents who were brainwashed as kids.
The ones who follow at the side of the road are the biggest problem. If they care that much, why aren't they part of it?
I've no time for it mate.
I have pals and family who are involved in both sides and I kind of pity their lack of personal thinking.
Surely a human being knows what's right and wrong. What's good or not.
I don't see what the need for it is anymore tbh.
Maybe one march each per year would be my fair offer to the police and council.
But, there are worse things going on in our countries and towns nowadays than bands and lodges, to be fair about it.
