Well lads if there's no announcements tomorrow that will be it til Monday now.

I really hoped we'd get jens hjerto dahl.

If we did he'd be player of tee year in Scotland and we'd likely win the treble he's so good it's unreal.

John do u have anymore knowledge of him atall mate?

Or any other interest in others I suppose maye?

03 Jul 2026 05:45:28
Got to temper expectations with Dahl, I think, yeah he's a top prospect and performing well at the level he is at currently.

He was not selected for WC but Aasgaard was.

He, like Aasgaard, will have to adapt to the pace and physicality of the Scottish game should he sign.

However, if we are lucky enough to get him, he will be joining into a better environment and squad balance, hopefully, and be gradually progressed.

Expecting him to be the main guy straight away is why many players struggle. Give them time, and bring them in gradually to a team already performing well, and they should, if good enough, flourish without huge expectations on their shoulders to be the difference maker.

03 Jul 2026 06:16:46
One guy won't win us a treble, mate.

03 Jul 2026 06:37:34
A treble and Scotland's PFA: POTY all in one season? I don't think Gazza or Laudrup achieved that and we were dominating this league when they were here.

03 Jul 2026 07:38:19
Why can't we announce a signing on a Saturday or Sunday?

03 Jul 2026 07:39:08
If he's good as you say he is, he wouldn't still be in Norway playing for Tromso.

03 Jul 2026 08:03:50
Mind a lot of folk saying Skov Olsen would be the best player in the league. That didn't work out too well.

I was included in that thought haha.

03 Jul 2026 09:10:09
Spot on, Storm.
I think we're going to see a lot more of this. Like Dele Alli too, guys become very rich, very young. We all work with people who do the bare minimum to get their paycheck. Why would it be any different in sport.

03 Jul 2026 09:20:55
Pressure and expectations definitely played a part, as it has with a lot of our recent signings. Olsen looked like a rabbit in the headlights. This is the reason why DM is looking at mentality and leadership as a key attribute for new signings and why we are looking to establish a Scottish / Rangers core of players who get it and can handle the pressure and drive standards and performance.

Very important and a shrewd move by DM and our board. Lack of mentality has been an issue for years caused by employing people in recruitment and coaching roles who don't get it or understand our game.

03 Jul 2026 08:16:19
Kenny, I voiced my concern about Skov before he signed for us because of his prior form was very poor and was shot down in flames. A lot depends on the players' ability to adapt to our league and the pressure to win every game at Rangers.

It's a burden too heavy for even some top top players, so I always take a cautious but optimistic view on all signings.

03 Jul 2026 08:46:18
Can't see Hjerto-Dahl happening now. Given Neil signing, rumours of Ferguson, Devlin, and now Dragojevic. I think Dahl has passed us over. Shame, as for me, he looks to be a top class player.

03 Jul 2026 08:50:20
It wasn't the pressure that stopped Olsen, Cmac. It was his loss of form and he fell out of love with football.

03 Jul 2026 09:40:00
So what u trying to say then, that when EHL was there and involved in training and working with players and younger ones, he didn't know what he was doing, one of the most respected and knowledgeable guys on here, we would be lucky to have him back in the fold.

Thelwell left, but before he did, he contributed to bringing in some players, not all, who we can potentially sell for a fortune.
So you're blaming recruitment n coaching for mentality issues in the players, wonderful support for the guys that work hard each day, every day.

03 Jul 2026 09:50:03
If coaching and recruitment wasn't an issue, then we would not have failed for years, would we? ?‍♂️ Of course recruitment and coaching has been an issue! Have you not been watching us?

03 Jul 2026 10:30:36
You said it was an issue. I never opined either way. I find your lack of support of guys that work hard, and the fact you ignore one of our own and dismiss his contribution as a failure, strange.

Thelwell, again, u ignore he's recruited players, not all as I said, that will make us money. You're throwing a slight on them for doing a job, and, as I never stated either way.

03 Jul 2026 10:46:11
You find it strange, yet you have criticised our own players on numerous occasions for poor performances. I find that a bit hypocritical.

I'm throwing a slight on them for doing a job, yet you slight players for poor performances. Again, I find that a bit hypocritical.

We might make a bit of money, but we have won nothing!

Do you think making money will appease fans' fury at finishing 3rd? We last won a cup two years ago, and that was the League Cup! They obviously are not working hard enough.

03 Jul 2026 10:52:49
DM is also bringing in his own coaches so he clearly feels improvement is also needed in that area. ?

03 Jul 2026 11:35:10
Correct Star. ?

03 Jul 2026 11:48:47
It's common because it usually means the previous have been sacked for underperforming. ??

03 Jul 2026 11:49:48
Dahl maybe a fantastic player & a top prospect, but it takes a team to win the league, never mind a treble & Ferguson will also not also transform us either.

Skov Olsen's problem wasn't pressure or expectations, it was he lacked fitness, match sharpness & has probably lost confidence as injuries do that, lost pace due to those injuries too & feared he could get injured again by trying too hard. He didn't look like a deer in the headlights, he looked like he could not be bothered.

Scottish players or players in the league mostly don't understand the pressure of going for titles or cup, & they certainly don't know the pressure of a Rangers, playing for the likes of Dundee, Motherwell, St Mirren & so on are nothing compared to Celtic & Rangers.

Hearts are the only ones who have come close to feeling it & they bottled it under the pressure last season, but even then those expectations are different to us, "finished 3rd in a 2 horse race" a race we shouldn't of been in after Russell Martin but expected Rohl to win the league which he came closest since Gerrard, Hearts sat at the top for most of the season & we're 15 points clear at one point. So if Rohl finished 3rd in a 2 horse race then McInnes & his players finished 2nd in a 1 horse race.

03 Jul 2026 11:09:36
Show me where I've been overly critical of our players, I'll wait, my eyes are wide open.

I've been no more critical of players than any normal fan, have fun talking to yourself as it's pointless when u try to divert the topic away from the actual discussion.

03 Jul 2026 11:21:56
Not uncommon for managers bringing in coaching staff, didn't Rohl, Martin, Clement, Beale, GVB do the same, boom?

03 Jul 2026 12:46:55
So it's ok for you to be critical of players but you find it strange if I am critical of backroom staff. That's called being a hypocrite. ?‍♂️ ?

I'm not diverting any topic.

My original point is that the backroom staff have failed as well because we have been unsuccessful for years.

03 Jul 2026 12:52:10
But you mentioned McInnes bringing in coaching staff. My point was all managers do it. ?

03 Jul 2026 13:25:46
The more money we can make from players will help purchase better quality players.

The more players go for. And, to be better, leagues will help us entice better quality of players, as they will see we can open doors to them moving onto bigger and better leagues.

Sorts of makes sense to me. ?

03 Jul 2026 13:26:36
And where did I express my opinion on the staff? Read my post; I only spoke about your opinion, it's the written word. Try reading it.

03 Jul 2026 13:23:13
Again where was I overly critical, I asked earlier, show me, u can't, and as already stated u changed the narrative as u can't, Storm, Star and a few others are right, you really aren't worth conversing with.

03 Jul 2026 13:46:01
The reality of the situation is that there is not one defining issue that needs fixed in order to get us competing again.

Since we entered liquidation, the club has spent years taking shortcuts in every department in order to accelerate our recovery.

From top to bottom, we are lightyears behind Celtic on nearly every measurable indicator, and only now are we starting to see things being done correctly - however, it will take time and money to make sure we can compete with any longevity.

Oh, and Restore, may I point out that Rohl and his coaching team were not sacked, so they were actually head hunted. So by your own logic this would indicate that they were not failures, but successes.
