Not Rangers related, however as a huge fan of Italian football, thought I'd drop a note on some exceptionally talented footballers to look out for at the World Cup.

Obvious 2 are

Kenan Yildiz (Juventus, Turkey, 21):Creative attacker who is who is an absolute joy to watch

Nico Paz (Como, Argentina, 21): Modern attacking midfielder who is my favourite player to watch at the moment

Others to keep an eye on;

Ange‑Yoan Bonny (Inter, Ivory Coast, 22): Powerful forward with strong hold‑up play

Anass Salah‑Eddine Diao (Como, Senegal, 20): Has the potential to be the complete midfielder - which is unusual nowadays

Luka Sučić (Inter, Croatia, 22): Technically gifted deep-lying midfielder capable of controlling tempo - has been compared to Modric.

Koni De Winter (Milan, Belgium, 21): An all action defender, reminds me a lot of Bassey.

You've done your homework there, Ehl, A++.
Will be sure to look out for them, mate.

{Ed001's Note - Chelsea are desperately trying to sign Paz.}

Hi Ehl.
I know Italy never qualified, but is it true their youth system has gone to pot?
My eldest said the top teams are struggling to bring any young Italian talent through.
And what are the reasons, in your opinion?

He's a joy to watch, and certainly a talented lad. I think if he goes to Chelsea, he will probably ruin himself. Sadly, Chelsea seems like a very toxic club.

09 Jun 2026 13:57:42
Yildiz is a cracking player and deserves a move away from Juve imo.
Paz will be Madrid or Barcelona bound soon as this lad is special.
Bony needs to move from Inter imo as feel he is being stunted as he could be one hell of a striker.

Can't say much on the others as not seen them play much.

Sucic is an outstanding player, as is Paz. Paz was bought for 6 million euros! Unbelievable!

Sucic and Paz on their current trajectory will be household names globally. Serie A is fantastic, fond of it myself. Not long finished the book, Calcio, by John Foot. So many Italian clubs founded by Brits.

09 Jun 2026 14:11:19
Real Madrid have first refusal to buy Paz back and apparently Mourinho has told them to bring him back now as he's a big part of his plans.

09 Jun 2026 14:32:48
Yildiz is exceptional. For the money Chelsea spent on Gittens and Garnacho it's beggars belief why they didn't just sign him instead.

09 Jun 2026 14:38:10
Chelsea have become specialists in blowing money on garbage. I think the tide has turned there now. I think Alonso will do a job there.

09 Jun 2026 14:45:35
Italian specialists from club media explaiayes blame the influx of players who hampered development of their youth.

09 Jun 2026 15:01:18
I hope Real activate Paz buyback clause, with him, Guler, Endrick, Huijsen, etc., they've got a spine for many years to come if nurtured correctly.

09 Jun 2026 15:11:06
Ger88 apparently Huijsen surplus to requirements.

Mastantuono will be loaned out too.

09 Jun 2026 16:44:13
Aue, I read Mastantuono will be loaned for game time. Never knew about Huijsen, just read that Raul Ascensio could leave. I wouldn't be letting both those young cbs go. With Alaba away and Militaos injury record, signing Konate on a free makes sense.

09 Jun 2026 18:27:32
Ger88, it's all just hearsay really atm isn't it.

Mourinho likes to have top defenders so will likely want 2 new cb's that, along with Olise, he's going to need to sell some players to finance his spree which is always very high on n cost.
