Just a wee debate on Dan Neil. I'm very wary of this signing. So many of these type of players come up and fail.

Your, Actually tired of Neil, debate, had my say, outstanding for Sunderland, leader on the park, excellent range of passing, elite engine, he has performances like he had with Sunderland, be loved by Rangers fans in jig time.

More to the point, most users have never seen him kick a ball, and going off previous players signed from the Championship.

Wonder is we'll stop signing anyone from Holland, just because Danilo, Lammers, Propper, failed, and Antman is looking that way.

Star, if he's such a player, why has his club let him go, especially now they have Europe, so more matches.

Onewalter, because they're just signing an English midfielder for 30m+ that's way, mate, why does Lampard want him playing for Coventry in the EPL? Seen none of these questions getting asked.

Plus the fact Sunderland has many English players, a handful of better cm's at Sunderland now, put four on the discussions page the other day, without including a young talented English man in Chris Rigg.

I hope he doesn't turn into another Rothwell OWS if we sign him. I will hold judgement as I haven't seen him play.

Your, most people want Elliott Watt, who was playing League 1 down there & has 1 good season up here. Rothwell is the only one failure I can name. Asagaard seems better but needs more off the ball & Gassama is a lot better on the right, plus Djiga & Meghoma improved massively under Rohl.

One difference between Neil and Rothwell is age. Rothwell just looked as if he had lost the legs to get about midfield, but Neil is still mid twenties. I've never seen the guy play except on YouTube, but we shouldn't write him off just because Rothwell flopped.

Dan Neil is a top player.
Walks into our team of last season and probably captains it.

Guys, I agree with My star, Dan Neil is a very good/tidy midfielder and imo would be a really good signing for us. ? Very good range of passing, tremendous workrate and isn't afraid of a challenge or two. ?

Dan Neil is a player that would enhance our team, great work ethic, great engine, good all round football player, very determined.

Guys, I've not said much on this debate, but what I will say is, everyone has an opinion. We don't need others to agree with our opinion, and you don't need to convince others your opinion is correct. Especially considering the guy may flop or be a success, nobody actually knows until it happens.
Like a bunch of wains at school trying to convince each other that "my dad would batter your dad."
Some want Neil, some don't, some are unsure. That's fine. We can do the I told you so's if it happens and once he's played more than 1 or 2 games.

Well said, Ayrshire.

I genuinely believe the Dan Neil talk is all media/agent talk.
I think with Stig at the head of recruitment now, most of our signings will be from Northern Europe.
And I think the Shankland signing has come from Danny Rohl himself.
I think he has been alerted to the situation by Shanks agent, and he's told the club to go and get him.
I doubt we'll be signing players from the Championship whilst Stig is in charge.

Dont know why someone can get so angry because other posters disagree with them. I've looked in on this chat for a while and its happened with multiple posters.
