If it's true, StevieG, I'm all for it. Give him the evenings and days off with his family, the majority of the season he's away from them.
It's good man management from Cavanagh.
I'd prefer a hard grafting, getting them fit training camp in Germany to a warm weather jolly.

Maybe a wee bitty tough on him, Stevie. Germany will be a very good place for pre season, tough players, tough teams, similar weather & will give him a good insight into what's going to pretty much be a whole new squad. If he gets the bonus of more time with family, then I've no issues, esp as he is away from them for long periods.

Morning Stevie. Don't believe for a minute that's why we are going there, but have you ever worked away from home? We try and get up the road to our family any chance we get, mate. Did the training camp before the split push us on? Rohl obviously knows Germany, and this could be a good move for us. Time will tell, pal.

What does it matter where the team goes for preseason, as long as the facilities are adequate, plus it's not cold in Germany.

It's all about facilities, training pitches, local opposition, weather and players gelling.
