Boydy saying there's more to the Tav situation & he agress with him but didn't elaborate further, only Tav could clear things up
14 May 2026 18:15:00
Tav's statement does not reflect well on Rohl imo.
14 May 2026 18:22:18
Players all liking and reposting it. He's lost the dressing room, can't see him being here much longer. Players are so unprofessional, liking and reposting it regardless of their feelings. He's still the manager.
14 May 2026 18:31:01
In my opinion, it was a nothing game so he could have played Tav, however, what I will say is that fans have been slating Tav for years now and Rohl has been the only manager with the cahonas to drop him.
Rohl was faced with a no win situation. Fans pay good money and expect to see the strongest team played, unfortunately, Tav is not part of our strongest team. Damned if he played him and damned if he didn't.
14 May 2026 18:36:03
Wishy, I've mentioned before that I don't think Rohl will be here next season.
Too much going on, lost 4 of his 5 cup finals. Links with jobs closer to home. Situation with Tav. Another trophy-less season. Not being with his wife and young family.
14 May 2026 18:38:27
Wishy, it will be very interesting to see if any of these players now start v Falkirk.
14 May 2026 18:39:16
Can't see him being here, mate. Players are basically in open rebellion from what I can see. Manny reposted it, and Chermiti, Skov, Butland all liked it, and that's just the players I follow on insta.
14 May 2026 18:40:49
Tav should have led the team out 100%. Rohl has lost me, the dressing room, and probably a large portion of the fans, if this is true. In any other workplace or sport, after dedicating 95% of your career to the club, you don't deserve to be kicked in the face for a dead rubber game. Just imagine if you worked for a firm for your whole career, and on your last day the boss called everyone in but told you not to bother.
We are having your party without you, just pop in at 5 to 5, we will keep a sausage roll warm for you, and don't argue, I'm the boss, no one's bigger than the firm. Sometimes you just have to be human.
14 May 2026 18:44:04
Tav's statement leaves doubt over Rohl's version of events. Seems players support Tav in this mess.
14 May 2026 18:47:31
Agreed, John, messy situation for sure, perhaps a proper clean slate is best for everyone in the summer now.
14 May 2026 18:52:13
I kinda think it was obvious guys.
This is the reason I did a 180 on supporting Danny Rohl and changed to a Rohl out, it was unbecoming of Rangers and a Rangers manager to treat Tav in such a way.
For me, the club should make it up to him with a testimonial vs Bournemouth, to play his brother if they are up for it, give him a proper chance to say goodbye.
And for the record, I've been a Tav out for the last two years, but last night was unforgivable for me.
Rohl out.
I'd try to force his hand, put someone over him, try to get him to leave on his own.
Unfortunately we are back to square one.
I just hope my other opinion of American owners never being good for British business or the product doesn't land true with Cavenaugh and 49ers.
14 May 2026 18:59:02
What a sad mess. "No one is bigger than the club", but I decide when and how I play and a league game must be all about me.
14 May 2026 19:10:35
I don't grudge Tav his goodbye in the game last night, but Danny Rohl having the balls to drop him from the squad is correct in my opinion. It should have happened earlier in the season, though, to make the 'statement'.
14 May 2026 19:10:39
Kaiser, it was Tav's last chance to lead us out at Ibrox as the skipper and Rohl screwed him over. Tav made arrangements to move the date of his injection to be able to have that opportunity. I'd be fuming if that was me, and rightly so. Rohl can go, he's nothing special and is coming across as a bit of a wanker to be honest.
14 May 2026 19:21:24
Kaiser, am with you. Tav admits he was injured, so he should never have started. Doesn't matter if it's a nothing game or not, Tav is 100% in the wrong.
14 May 2026 19:31:01
He acknowledged he wasn't properly fit after taking a knock. U put the team 1st. It was not a testimonial. We had a game to try and win. All the prematch presentations and mascot stuff with his kids etc could still have been done before kick off, and then take his place on the bench, as a professional, like he was told by his boss.
And then also take the applause when brought on, as was planned. He felt he was more important. He's not.
14 May 2026 19:39:19
Kaiser, finally someone has taken a step back and seen the situation in another light. I agree.
There is still more to come out from this incident, and I'm sure it will eventually.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but don't let emotions get in the way of seeing the situation and the way it has been in the long term.
14 May 2026 19:41:58
Won't be the first manager to lose the dressing room and won't be the last under this sorry lot. Wake up, ppl. A core of this lot have been throwing managers under the bus for years, while winning nothing, but blaming the manager.
How many times can this happen before we open our eyes. What a mess. Sick to back teeth of players downing tools because they aren't getting their way. imo tools have been downing last 4 games. What else could explain this?
14 May 2026 19:46:05
Can't actually believe people siding with the injured Tav, that he should start, what? Put in a performance like that at Parkhead, then demand you should start to make it all about him.
14 May 2026 19:53:45
Kaiser, you're correct, even though sub he could have still led team out & then taken seat on bench, not rocket science, not sure why this was not thought of, unless Rohl was trying to show his authority, which has backfired & appears to show players do not respect him.
Time to go, I think, over to Cavenaugh to sort out mess, he can't afford to make anymore mistakes.
14 May 2026 20:02:13
Good riddance to Tav.
It shows the standards some fans are prepared to now accept by treating a Rangers game lightly just so one of the worst leaders, captain & "legend" we have had in our history can walk his weans out.
14 May 2026 20:06:40
Regardless of who's right or wrong, it takes two to tango. All the reposts and likes just confirm to me that the players run this team, not the club or the manager.
Maybe one day we will get a manager who gets to put his foot down. Hasn't happened for the previous 5.
14 May 2026 20:45:39
Blue North, or players back their captain but lack respect for the manager.
14 May 2026 20:50:54
Good posts mph and bb4.
14 May 2026 22:53:24
Tjbb, it wasn't a party for Tav tho. You can't just walk into a work day and demand a parade on top of things that have been arranged for you, esp if there is still important work to be done to keep others like your boss in their jobs.
14 May 2026 23:44:17
I don't believe that the team Rohl played against Hibs was the correct team given previous results and our position in the league.
I also think he has scored an own goal, not playing Tav from the start to lead the team out for the last time in what was a dead rubber for us.
He could have started Kelly to give him some game time, as he is a potential squad player for the World Cup.
I'm not sure if Souttar was fit, but if so, the same applies, start him to get him back playing before World Cup.
It's not as if Butland and Djiga have been performing well of late anyway, both very droppable imo.
