What point are you trying to prove with this, Mystar?

All that shows me is that both Hearts and ourselves are lucky that Nancy was hired as manager, you know, as he lost 6 of 8 and that the poorest Celtic squad in ages would still be ahead of us going from this.

08 May 2026 17:22:25
The only table that matters is from start of the season to the end of the season, and we are 3rd at the min.

What trophy do we get for topping the table when Rohl came in?

08 May 2026 17:22:43
Good post, BbJ.

08 May 2026 17:44:55
Anybody want to upload a table showing the points totals of the top six clubs since the split?

08 May 2026 17:46:55
Thanks for that Mystar. Interesting stats indeed. I'm not convinced by Rohl myself and I think he will leave us at the end of the season.

08 May 2026 17:55:24
Cheers Carlukeloyal, Bigbluejim, only showing the league after Rohl arrived, some think he's the problem when that table is showing he's not.
Won't even reply to the other.

08 May 2026 18:08:28
If Celtic hadn't appointed Nancy, they would be miles clear of Hearts (and us). However, if we had Rohl in from the start, then we would also have a much higher points tally.

On a normal season, this Hearts team wouldn't be challenging. But fair play to them, taking advantage of both our mistakes.

08 May 2026 18:27:05
Bee poor under Rodgers as well, before Nancy, O'Neill saved their season.

08 May 2026 18:44:21
Mystar, my point being that even though Rohl has done well with this shambles of a squad, if Celtic hadn't appointed Nancy and lost CCV, Johnstone and Jota, and had kept Mon, then we would still be some way behind them.

That's why I don't care what that table shows and only where we are now.

Btw just for context, I still think Rohl should stay, but we can't keep using that table to justify it as there are always extenuating circumstances for each club.

08 May 2026 18:58:12
Nancy didn't lose 6 out of 8 league games, but the argument that "if it wasn't for him" is also true for us, "if it wasn't for Martin".

08 May 2026 19:01:15
Bigbluejim, I know what you're saying, mate.
Give Rohl another couple of windows, unless it goes paired shaped right off. He needs at least one pre season. He was snookered when he first arrived and done well, giving us some hope, favourites before the Motherwell game.

But he does need help responsible for the Motherwell and Hearts game. I'm thinking more so the players; they didn't put in the same workrate like they showed in the first half against Hearts in the second. Hopefully the players signed in the summer help us progress.

08 May 2026 19:30:15
Yeah I'm agreed there, Mystar, but he will only get the summer imo.

With a full pre-season and some better signings, and getting rid of some of these ego players we know he has an issue with, and add in an experienced man behind him, and I think we will see the best of him unless, like you stated, it goes pear shaped quickly.

Wsl, the difference being that Martin got a pre-season and his own signings and still was crap. Nancy didn't get that chance, so we were 100% fortunate about their gamble.

08 May 2026 19:42:29
If my Auntie had balls.

08 May 2026 20:47:39
Can't wait to end of the season to see us lift the when Danny Rohl came in we won the league trophy. ?

08 May 2026 21:53:05
Bbj, I love blethering with you in the live chats, although I've not been on them for a while, but I do need to say that post about a bunch of what ifs, basically, can go in our favour too.

What if Skov had been what we expected? What if Naderi and Rommens never got injured? What if we got the Summer window right and appointed Rohl from the start? What if the team had a more physical preseason leading to better physical conditioning? What if the summer recruitment was better?

The facts are the facts, and what ifs can be whatever we want them to be.

The facts are we're 3rd, and until the previous two games, Rohl had the best points total taken over the last 25 games. The facts are also that Rohl has made errors, and we've fallen short. The facts are also that this squad has as much fight in them as a bunch of toddlers that have missed nap time.

I respect you may be happier to see him go, and I wish for him to stay, but my main concern is getting the majority of that squad gutted and replaced.

08 May 2026 22:46:23
Murph, mate, I said I was on the fence regarding Rohl staying or leaving, but I feel he should be given the summer at the very least and then we go from there.

I do agree that we need to get rid of a good chunk of this squad, but we need to get our recruitment bang on, just a wee bit worried that we have recently been linked with Championship and League 1 players again.

Get yourself back on live chats, bud.

08 May 2026 23:02:21
BbJ, it's madness being constantly linked with players from that league when the majority have failed. ?‍♂️

The only league that matters is the one at the end of the season, and the best we can do is 2nd in that, which I doubt will happen.

Rohl was snookered when he came in. We are coming 3rd in a 2 horse race and against the worst Celtic team in 20 years bar the Covid seasons. ?

08 May 2026 23:10:59
BbJ, I'll think about it this Sunday, see how I feel lol.

On the Championship stuff I'm fearful of it as well, mate. Scarred from it, you might even say.

On Rohl, I'm probably similar to what Storm has said, 60/40. I'm probably closer to like 70/30. Plenty concerns, but I just think his principles will work well for us.

09 May 2026 00:23:21
I think the Championship problem shows that the quality of football and quality of player in SPL is way better than given credit for.

It's more than a coincidence with the number of failures from that league in SPL. It's also not a particular kind. Defenders like Duffy abso sha* a brick, mf's like Barron and Ljunberg, Juninho and Keane.

Dowell can't well, Krankar.

Good players like Diallo. Maddison done well but not exceptional.

It's not a style that fails, it's a variation and that shows our product is a lot better than they and we think.

09 May 2026 00:46:46
I'll be coming off a nightshift, so I will be on live, but sporadically most likely.

Yeah, when I saw we were linked with a striker from Plymouth I was like oh come on now. Really has scarred me too, bud, just hope it's all paper talk and we are scouting better regions.

I think it was you who had said about Rohl second season at Wednesday, so that has me hopeful he will motor on once he gets his players and a pre-season.

09 May 2026 12:16:23
Big Jim, many of the links to players are agents doing their job.

09 May 2026 13:41:28
Yeah, it was so Bbj. Was about an interview Bannan done on Open Goal, and looking at Wednesday stats-wise they definitely improved nearly all attacking metrics whilst defence remained poor-ish.

Main differences being more competitive league and then being in financial difficulty, less pull for players as well.

From what I remember reading as well, Rohl claimed his main issue with Wednesday, and why he left, was the lack of communication with the board and not even the financial issues.
