Great post Stevie g I feel exactly the same way. Pep has spoiled football to watch. I hate possession based football. Give me a winger who gets to the bye line and cuts it back with players running on to finish.
Instead we get out winger passing back to right back to centre mid to left back and back to the goalie so we keep possession. Nonsense. Take a chance and if we loose possession taking a chance work hard to get it back.

Pep done to football what Simon Cowell done to music. I hate seeing Man City winning anything, and was really glad PSG (which I know have a similar background to City) and Munich really going for it and playing football to win. That was probably one of the best games I've seen in years and shows how poor the EPL has become.

Arsenal are even more boring than Manchester City now, horrible watch.

Probably started the tiki take style of football with Barcelona, although I'll forgive that because at the time they probably had the best midfield of all time with Xavi, Messi, and my favourite, the great Andres Iniesta.

Yeah, I don't disagree with that, My Star, I kind of want them to blow it but that means City will win, what a conundrum.

Did Dado. Did.

I agree, mate. I've stopped watching a lot of football because this possession-based rubbish does my head in. Watch GKs and CBs pass it about before messing it up and losing goals every week.
That, and the way money has killed the game. So disillusioned with even the Champions League, I ended up missing the one good game there's been in ages because I can't be bothered with it anymore. Typical. ?

I would accept the possession based rubbish football if it meant Rangers were winning trophy after trophy.

I'm an Arsenal fan, and obviously I hope they win the league, but after a start in which they have played good football, they have just resorted to grinding football. I blame Arteta, he has players like Saka, Eze, Odegaard, etc, but he just won't let them play.

One pet hate I have with this Rangers team is passing out to the back four then just to go long and missing the midfield. Nothing wrong with going long, but move our back four up to the halfway line and win the second balls further up the park. Our football philosophy is a bit of everything and nothing, to be fair.

How many teams actually win doing it though MPH? City can because they can buy the very best to do it with. And Barca had a Messi. All the rest try and copy, even down the leagues, and every week is poor to watch and is like a weekly own goals and gaffs video.

You have to wonder how players like Willie Henderson, Davie Cooper, Jimmy Johnstone, Bud Johnston, and John Robertson would have fared playing this modern keep ball style.

I stopped watching a lot of football the last couple of years because the majority is boring as hell.

Stromtrooper1, I wholeheartedly agree. Some of the football on show is absolutely single fish. English Championship is probably the most competitive, and it's fairly decent to watch as it's like end to end penalty box drama in most games. How many Super Sunday days in the EPL are complete rubbish? I preferred 80's, 90's to about early 2000's football.
Since then the standard, in my eyes, is worse, granted players are fitter, etc, but only 1 in a 1000 players has any real willingness to beat players and entertain fans. Loved watching Davie Cooper, still one of my all time favourites.

Good post. I totally agree with you.
