For all the pelters Raskin seems to be getting at the moment.

Most passes in the season Raskin.
Most tackles Raskin
Most assists Raskin
Most fouls Raskin.

Is this at our club, Paul, or in the league? Cheers.

Or is it for Belgium. ?

Our club.

In the league it is interesting, though, as he has played almost 500 minutes more than any other player; that is 20% more, so would it be expected that he would be higher than most.

As an example, and just to stir the pot, Tavernier has played 500 minutes less from full back and the comparison is:

Raskin tackles per 90 minutes 2.5.
Tavernier has 2.2.

Raskin passes per 90 minutes 56.
Tavernier has 50 per 90.

Tavernier however has created 62 big chances compared to Raskin's 51; remember Tavs has played 20% less minutes.

And, for assists, Raskin has 33% more in 6 to 4 for Tav, but again Tav played 20% less.

And, for accurate passes per 90, then Raskin is only 3rd behind Souttar and Djiga.

I think, though, that people are saying that he has been better, haven't they, but stats are interesting depending how you context and compare them.

Does a 5#10 yard pass sideways or backwards for a defender count as an 'accurate' pass?

07 Apr 2026 08:39:35
You're comparing a full back with a midfielder, regardless of minutes it would be different anyway. Game opponents also enter into it, whether the team's dominant or not.

Fork, exactly the point. The mf who drops between the cbs to pick up ball is always going to see more of the ball, and used Tav as the comparison as he is next best in most of those figures as the fb. Anyway, according to these stat sites (well most of them), a pass is a pass, so a good way to compare.

Bar, yes, they count any pass and that is their reason why Souttar and Djiga have the highest pass success rate. The reason Tav makes more mispasses than most is that the majority are ones which are progressive and more risky, hence the reason he also has more big chance creations. (? specifically for Fork. ?).

07 Apr 2026 10:22:01
Correct, Fork, totally pointless comparing a right back to a CM the same way passing stats from a CH to CM. Also, the two CH pass the ball to each other and keeper a lot, so if they aren't able to do that we would be in massive trouble.

07 Apr 2026 11:12:26
More pointless stats with unreasonable comparisons from different positions. ?

07 Apr 2026 11:55:04
Tend to agree that's why I posted. ?

07 Apr 2026 13:08:19
But according to some Raskin is only liked because he is a fans' favourite - and yet Paul has just proved different. ??
Also, interesting to see someone who thinks all players shouldn't be slated, ironically putting up stats to try and put down Raskin's worth to the team. ?

07 Apr 2026 13:38:16
Mph does it all the time, but that's allowed apparently. ? He doesn't mean anything by it apparently.

So, where to start. I wasn't criticising Raskin, I was putting forward figures which show a defender had stats that weren't that far away from a MF who I would expect to be more involved in passing moves. Oh, and that same FB is constantly criticised by fans for not doing enough as a defender or going forward.

Also, Raskin in his role picks up the ball in middle of back 3 and does the same as the CH, so surely that comparison is more than valid.

However, I always forget the rules on here. Let me see if I can remember. ? You can't compare a player from a different league, use the stats from when they didn't play for Rangers and now not even compare a player in the same team; is that not what the OP's post is doing, i.e. a comparison of the stats across all players at Rangers. ? I think I have it now though: don't use stats if it doesn't meet with your opinion.

Oh, and I have never said not to slate players MPH. I was pointing out that 10 minutes after we had won 4-2 and go top of the league it seems odd that the first thing that a fan would do would be to come on to criticise a player at all but then not to mention other players for making the same mistakes; perhaps that didn't meet the narrative of the fan.

These are two totally different things, but then again I found it is okay to criticise missing chances if they score (someone should have told Dessers critics that). To even suggest that players can't be criticised would cut down on the traffic on the site to less than 40% of what is posted; and we are meant to be a Rangers fan site.

However I am now beginning to understand why posters disappear and don't come back. Perhaps they can't be *rsed with the conditions you all impose on when a post is acceptable or not. Was there not something I read being posted about everyone being allowed to post an opinion and it seemed like these opinions weren't allowed to be argued against. Or, again, is that only opinions that meet with all of yours?

So, adieu and perhaps goodbye as honestly cannot be bothered with this cr*p anymore.

Get your big boy pants on, Angus.
I took it from plenty on here after constructively criticising the team after the Dun United game, even though I was over the moon with the result - with you the chief antagonist.
Stick to your opinions by all means but don't change the parameters to suit your own agenda.
