Rino Gatusso, Pedro Mendes, Gio van Bronckhorst, and Claudio Reyna. Albertz doesn't make the cut because he did most of his best work from a wide position, despite not being a winger.

Great question, and although Orange T has asked us to name our top 5 foreign midfielders to have played for Rangers over the last 30 years, I've actually picked 6, as I just couldn't leave any of these 6 superb midfielders out, i.e. R. De Boer, Tugay, Reyna, GVB, Albertz and Arteta. ? Pure quality in these 6. ? ??

Apart from all the great midfielders named above, I always liked Hemdani as well. He looked so composed on the ball.

Top 2 are easy, Albertz and Gvb, then I would add Reyna, Arteta and Mendes. Tugay was great at times, but was behind the first three and Barry F for a regular place. Wee Dick didn't always pick him. R. De Boer was fantastic, but I always think of him as a forward, and to be honest I don't think Gattuso was that good when he was at Rangers.
He had a great career when he left us, but he was just an enthusiastic kid when he was with us. Fernando Ricksen was good in midfield too when he was switched from full back by Alex McLeish.
