Watching the game last night what struck me was that you could have picked some team with the players watching from the stands.

Can't stand Clarke in any way or form. Arrogance, petulance, my way or the hi way approach to coaching. Reminds me of a past manager here. Don't know the exact stat. 1 win in 24 friendly games. I don't care how many tournaments he boasts about getting to.
He failed miserably in them all. My crystal ball tells me that we draw in our first game (dejavu), followed by a humping by Morocco and Brazil, and back home we come, to be sent home to think again. Good to back on Saturday.

Even against Haiti, it's hard to see who in this team will score goals. We will need to avoid a humping from Morocco and Brazil to maybe sneak a third place spot, but that will be tough. A last hurrah for Clarke and a lot of these players. My worry is that his replacement might be currently sitting beside him in the dugout.

If it wasn't for the 32 to 48 country increase we wouldn't be anywhere near this World Cup. Same as the last Euros. The only thing that keeps me smiling is that he will manage the manky mob one day. Hopefully soon.

DtB is correct, on merit we got through Billy winning group. If he is first Scottish manager to get to next round, then it's not great shakes, as you can go through in 3rd place. What he would need to do is win the 1st knockout game for me.

Correct, DtB. People are annoyed we got beat by Japan, but they just beat England as well. Japan are an excellent side, and the team that beat us last night are no mugs either. Got to laugh on here sometimes, there's some amount of guys that say they can't stand Scotland but seem to watch every game. ?

I've no time for Steve Clarke.
And don't have much of an interest in Scotland games unless it's at Major Tournaments.
And for all the talk about it being easier to qualify etc, Clarke is doing what he is paid to do.
Getting a tune out of a group of players and qualifying for Major Tournaments.
Italy, Ireland, Wales etc would all bite our hand off to be in our position.

Japan showed last night that they are an excellent team after their reserve team had beaten Scotland a couple of days ago.
