Wee question for a quiet international break. For out hometown quota we basically have just Kelly, Souttar, Barron, Cameron and Curtis who's possibly still able to be B list? Who would u like us to sign or promote to give us a full squad for Europe next season?

24 Mar 2026 21:31:50
Jack Milne.

24 Mar 2026 21:41:17
Topi Kiskenen be good.

24 Mar 2026 21:41:34
Lennon Miller.

24 Mar 2026 22:20:00
Kaiser, not many in SPL or our price range who would add to the 8 A list places we are allowed. For B list, who tend to be U21, I would promote Glasgow, Curtis, Nsio, Gentles and Burnside; they seem to be doing okay on loan, so probably deserve the experience. McCalion?

Outside that, Hibs have a good 18 year old with an eastern European name which I can't remember and can't be bothered Googling.

Calum Ward as GK.

Btw, Topi isn't counted as homegrown as he is 23 and hasn't spent 2/3 years in academy. Decent player though if a little inconsistent.

24 Mar 2026 22:36:45
Callum Ward? Definitely not homegrown. Would u take McCrorie back? Cover for RB and versatile for other positions? Or would Max Johnston still be an option for cover?

24 Mar 2026 22:39:59
David Watson and Barney Stewart and him loaned back to Falkirk because his price will only increase.

24 Mar 2026 22:40:40
Forgot Luke Graham.

24 Mar 2026 22:42:25
Kasier, I never even thought about McCrorie. Far better player now.

24 Mar 2026 23:10:53
We should have signed Shankland and Scott McKenna in the summer for free.

24 Mar 2026 23:28:02
I'd be interested in Max Johnston definitely, also Porteous but maybe couldn't afford him as he's having an absolutely outstanding season in MLS. I think they'd want $10m for him, but that's not an educated guess regards to MLS.

Don't know a lot about Milne. Or Graham.

If take Lennon Miller and if take Penrice.

25 Mar 2026 06:21:25
Angus, I know. I was waiting on someone to say he's Finnish. And I was going to say no, he's now only 23!. ? Don't really rate him, although he gave Rommens some problems with his pace last week.

25 Mar 2026 06:32:17
Nice effort, Paul. Shame no one took the bait. ??

25 Mar 2026 06:51:06
It's the effort that counts, Kaiser.

25 Mar 2026 07:31:22
My star is Barney Stewart, Scottish home grown.

25 Mar 2026 07:48:30
Paul, that would have been excellent. With my past history of getting Scandinavian players' nationalities right, I stayed well away from that. ? Glad you saw the Rommens thing though. ? Not a criticism, just an observation.

Given I chose Calum Ward though, and he isn't homegrown, I had no room to talk anyway.

Re McCrorie, I liked him when he was here and was one of the youngsters we should probably have developed better than we did. Same question I always have is, would he improve us and don't know enough about how he is playing currently. Wouldn't buy someone just to fit a Euro criteria.

25 Mar 2026 08:19:48
John has been in Scotland since 2023, QPR academy when the family moved to England for brother's University.

25 Mar 2026 08:26:08
John loaned out next season, then yes will will.

25 Mar 2026 08:30:36
I forgot all about Ryan Porteous was playing out in the MLS, Stevie G. ? So is he having a good season out there, mate? ?

25 Mar 2026 08:47:10
Angus, aye Anti Niemi, he's Danish, wouldn't have worked quite as good. ???.

25 Mar 2026 09:16:43
McCrorie has done well since going down south with interest from bigger clubs and with injuries etc has a real chance for WC. Was wasted by SG. We need full backs, so even if we could get a right back like Rommens homegrown options as back up would be good.

Wouldn't like to go into Europe with a reduced understrength squad yet again. Don't think he's a downgrade on what we have anyway. Also interesting seeing others' opinions on who else is out there that could come in.

25 Mar 2026 10:01:06
Kaiser, I agree re squad being up to full strength. If it's injury, not a lot we can do about that, but when it was Martin not balancing it, that was an issue.

I just like two people of reasonably equal ability challenging to urge each other on.

But as we won't really have a RB next season so far then McCrorie, if he has developed, might be an option; well until Tav gets his new 3 year contract.

25 Mar 2026 10:20:29
McCrorie or Max Johnson RB.
Milne and Graham CB.
Lewis Ferguson CM.

25 Mar 2026 10:41:04
Angus, Hibs player name is Rudi Molotnikov, I think that's who you mean. ? I googled.

25 Mar 2026 11:21:16
Coops, he's having a belter of a season so far, mate. Playing well and receiving some rave reviews.

25 Mar 2026 12:01:07
That's a belter of a Scottish name, Storm. ? Wouldn't have even thought to look at him. Is he one to watch for the future?

25 Mar 2026 12:33:21
Angus, I'm guessing you're talking about Rudi Molotnikov - who is a ridiculous talent and probably another player who'll be heading down south.

25 Mar 2026 12:46:12
EHL/Storm, that is the name I couldn't remember. I think I had read he had got an u21 call up and was rated as an attacking talent. Don't know much more tbh.

25 Mar 2026 12:59:12
Not many Scottish players in the league that would improve us, I like the look of Graham and Hamilton both at Dundee, Watt has done well at Motherwell, and Stewart seems to be really flying, but I'm always wary of one season wonder strikers.
If he was fit enough I would rather bring Patterson back than McCrorie (who is also plagued by injuries by the way), Penrice could be decent cover at left back, and he has also played as a winger so is versatile and would definitely take Lennon Miler if he became available.

25 Mar 2026 13:23:36
I'm not so sure, Sky, he signed for Falkirk in October 24, prior to that, he played for his university, who are not part of the Scottish football academy system.
Academy system is 15-21. He will be 22 later this year.

25 Mar 2026 13:28:19
Gents please remember nationality has nothing to do with whether a player is home grown or not.

Can anyone tell me why they get upset re desecrating off 66 but would sign porteous who desecrated our war dead.

25 Mar 2026 14:03:59
John, am me posting that am the same mate.

25 Mar 2026 14:04:26
Wouldn't touch Porteous with a barge pole, John.

25 Mar 2026 14:18:59
Not overly convinced by him playing well in US either. Don't really like him tbh.

25 Mar 2026 17:47:55
Yes, John, I'm an ancient codger but, even still, I don't forget these things - Rangers FC know this also - he will never, ever play for our club.
