Who in our current squad do you think should be our captain going forward? Or do we think we should be looking to bring in a well experienced player to take on that role, and if so who would you want?

09 Mar 2026 13:29:15
We need an experienced midfielder in the mould of Wee Davis, whom we sadly haven't replaced.

09 Mar 2026 13:35:41
None of them. I want us to sign a leader, preferably a ch or midfielder, who can drive the team forward.

09 Mar 2026 13:56:03
That's a good question. No one in the squad at the moment.

09 Mar 2026 14:29:54
Agree, I wouldn't like any of them to be captain as there are no leaders, but if pushed, probably Raskin, based purely on position.

09 Mar 2026 14:36:28
100% Onewalt. ?

09 Mar 2026 14:43:55
Not one of our current squad is fit to be captain.

09 Mar 2026 14:43:58
Think it was John, but I think it was hinted there's a good chance of a new captain in the summer, either CB or centre mid. Apologies, if that's not right, John.

09 Mar 2026 14:49:05
Stuart McCall famously said that the Rangers team had leaders all over the park.
We don't even have a captain who can lead the rest.
Tav, Souttar and Butland are never captain material, never mind leaders.

09 Mar 2026 15:18:04
We don't have anyone in the squad that fits the mould of a leader, and certainly not a captain.

09 Mar 2026 16:07:52
We now need to look urgently for players who either have Rangers in their heart, or could quickly grow to love the club, like Greig, Jardine, McCann, and many others who were not Rangers fans when they arrived. So where are they? We have lost some of the cream in Ferguson, Gilmour, etc., but there are a couple on the fringes of the Scotland squad who are worth a look, like George Hirst, Max Johnston, and Andy Irving, while we could also look at bringing back Nathan Paterson.

I'm sure our experts on here could come up with a few more who would improve our squad, our morale, and our willingness to give all for the cause.

09 Mar 2026 16:13:52
Baz, it was Doehki that John said we had a chance of, but I think that is a no-go now, as there is no danger we are getting Champions League football next season.

09 Mar 2026 16:50:38
I'd have Rommens as captain next season.

09 Mar 2026 17:15:46
SonsofStruth, Davis was no captain imo. Good player, at times, but never a captain. From what I've seen of the current squad, only Rommens looks to have it in him. We badly need leaders. Obviously. Take Skov Olsen as the example going forward, and sell players who are the exact opposite in mentality and personality.

09 Mar 2026 19:12:57
Did he not captain Northern Ireland over 80 times? If so, it is strange they would keep giving him the armband if he was that bad at it.

09 Mar 2026 19:14:27
Raskin showed when he took the armband last season that he actually grew in stature as a result. He should have been Tavs' deputy right from the start of this season, but instead he was sidelined by the imposter.

I don't know whether his behaviour at that time has ruled him out, but he is far more of a leader than Souttar, who should be leading the long list of departures in the summer.

09 Mar 2026 20:17:56
Bad bear, yes Doehki. We have made a final offer and given him till mid April to decide, is what I was told yesterday.

09 Mar 2026 21:13:34
Any news when Connor Barron returns?

10 Mar 2026 00:24:33
Imagine him and Fernandez together. There's 15 goals a season right there.
