Chermiti against Livi.
4 shots.
1 on target.
2 big chances missed.
53% accurate passes in opposition half.
Lost possession – 15 times.
Ground duels won – 33%.
Aerial duels won – 57%.
For all he got the plaudits against Hearts ( and Celtic previously ), he was honking on Sunday.

24 Feb 2026 13:20:46
Maybe he wasn't the best against Livingston Mph, but he's shown what he's capable of when on it, standing out against 1st and 3rd, outstanding against Hearts.

24 Feb 2026 13:32:34
He should have burst the net with that chance in the first half.

24 Feb 2026 14:30:00
I truly believe he is very poor.

24 Feb 2026 14:43:49
Our away form reminds me of Steven Gerrard's 1st 2 seasons. It's worrying because the away games we have left are very difficult. We need a striker who is going to fire us to these away wins. Just don't see that being Chermiti.

24 Feb 2026 14:45:35
Sons of Struth, what's your view on Raskin: sitter, Tabs, or Moore?

Raskin, from four yards, hit the defender, as did Moore.

24 Feb 2026 14:47:33
That only shows he's good if teams are attacking us, Star, and one game was under Nancy. Remember, who u said anyone could easily break thru, but he isn't working again the other 90% of games we play.

24 Feb 2026 14:51:38
He simply doesn't score often enough. We won't win the league if we are reliant on him for goals. Given the fee involved, I think the club will be stuck with him. As a secondary striker, I can see him having real value, but he needs a goal-scorer next to him. This creates a dilemma because Rangers need to play a 4-4-2 to get the best out of him.

If a 4-4-2 is played, then Moore, who is the only attacking midfielder we have that seems capable of anything, is forced out wide where he's less effective.

In order to accommodate Moore, the 4-2-3-1 is better.

I think Rohl is in a tough situation when it comes to the front 4. You can't really hang your hat on any of them. It's something that must be addressed in the summer.

24 Feb 2026 14:52:36
Poor players will never stand out against anyone, Borna.
Chermiti was outstanding against Hearts, a level up from any other player on the park that game.

24 Feb 2026 15:02:53
No point only having 2 good games a season as a Rangers No9.

Not if we want to win things.

We need a striker that can score meaningful goals every/most games.

We have not had that for years.

24 Feb 2026 15:13:06
If we started 442 and Djiga instead of Souttar, we would have won the game against Livi. No idea why Rohl reverted back to 4231. Strange decision.

24 Feb 2026 15:17:20
Seriously lacks composure in front of goal. I actually thought the 3rd of his hattrick last week was also very poor.

He basically strikes the ball without knowing where the keeper is, and got lucky. A striker with composure looks where the keeper is and places it past them.

I'm not sure that's something that can be coached that easily. Morelos was the same.

24 Feb 2026 15:20:06
He has the talent, he's just not consistent enough. If we can get a decent fee for him I'd get rid in the summer.

24 Feb 2026 15:27:14
Kasier, he was outstanding against Hearts. Chermiti had more good games than bad, easily imo. He has clearly not scored enough, but he has been involved in winning games.

24 Feb 2026 15:31:28
Fernandez blazing over in the first half was one of the worst, John, but part of the problem was Chermiti not being in the position to have those chances. I think Raskin's and Moore's chances were much harder to take.

24 Feb 2026 15:37:43
So an 8m striker has a couple of good games, and that is seen as an acceptable standard.
He will always struggle, as he has too many parts of his game which are not up to the standard required.

He's had plenty of time to perfect his game, but there is still no improvement from when Everton, for some reason, took a punt on him. Fine for the Premiership, but we can't afford 8m mistakes.

24 Feb 2026 15:43:21
John, the finishing was poor. Just think, with the goalie on the ground, the big yin fires it straight at him.

24 Feb 2026 15:46:21
To be fair to all of them, John, it was difficult not to hit the defender with that many in front of our players. They defended like their lives depended on it.

24 Feb 2026 15:55:03
I suppose, as fans, we all have differing opinions of certain players, and that's all they are: opinions. The only ones that matter are the manager and his support staff. He will want to succeed at Rangers, and I genuinely believe this season is one of consolidating and trying to catch the pack, which he has. Will we win the league? I certainly hope so, but I'm sure he has plans in place for next season and will know who will take this team forward and who will be shipped out.

My opinion, for what it's worth, is that I would like to see a solid 15-20 goals a year from a 9 in Scotland. Barron must stay, and we build a team around him and give him the armband.

24 Feb 2026 16:05:57
We need to remember that Livi played a low block, which became even worse when they scored first. There was very little space in the box, and Chermiti was facing 2 or 3 defenders at once.

Very little help from the wide areas, or much back up from any runners from midfield.

I always like 2 up front to take some of the burden from only 1 striker, which was easier for Livi.

24 Feb 2026 16:25:15
I can't see him ever being a leading No9, especially if he's up on his own. Perhaps, Mystar, could u see his "outstanding ability" turning him into a Joelinton type in the future rather than a striker?

24 Feb 2026 16:36:36
Borna, absolute miles off, imo, mate, because there's absolutely no way Chermiti is very poor, my friend. ? If he adds goals consistently to his game, he'll be a superb all round striker and will have a big career ahead of him. ? ??

24 Feb 2026 16:44:46
Kasier, I'm not very sure, mate, but he could play deeper. Good ability on the ball, excellent range of passing, and he also won the most duels against Hearts.

24 Feb 2026 17:29:34
He doesn't score many, and that is a fact. If he scores against teams who attack, does that mean the top 6 games will be better for him?

The good news is we aren't reliant on just him to score goals. We have now scored 49, and are only 2 behind Hearts on goals scored.

That is with their wonderful front line. ?
But I think it has been proved we need to have players around him to support and not have him isolated. I would play Naderi and him as a two. He seems more productive being further upfield with support.

24 Feb 2026 18:14:00
The problem with Chermiti is he doesn't show it enough, and he hasn't been showing it enough. Some people are happy with his goals against Hearts and Celtic, and we all are, but he needs goals against other teams.

24 Feb 2026 18:22:14
In what world has Chermiti had more good games than bad? Seriously, what do people watch? Because it's certainly not Rangers games.

24 Feb 2026 19:52:52
Cheers for reply, Kaiser. imo Raskin only needs to lift the ball.

24 Feb 2026 22:55:43
Mystar, if poor players never stand out vs anyone, then why do we buy them?

Are you suggesting Rangers have never bought a poor player?

24 Feb 2026 22:58:37
I'm not convinced on Chermiti, just like I'm not convinced that paying so much for Naderi from the third tier, given his injury stats, was very smart either. I really thought we would have gone out for a bigger-name loan signing to see us over the line.

Chermiti and Naderi could develop into good players, but should it have been at the expense of one of the most important leagues in years?

Hopefully they can do enough and get us over the line.
